Hey Marty, First of all, I want to start my comment on a positive note. I think you are doing a lot of good with these video's and clearly they are aimed at beginning guitarists. I am not a beginner. Closer to advanced then intermediate. I'm not sure if you are looking to expand your base clientele. But I wanted to let you know, sometimes I look at these video's real quick to get a semblance of a song to shortcut me into a version I can do at gigs for tourists and that sort of thing. I'm telling you this because these are so painfully slow that I tend to look for others that can give me quick overviews instead of going through all the beginner: this is how you fret this, strum this way, stuff. So, what I"m saying is if you came up with some sort of intermediate quick take versions (real book style) of songs like these or more complex popular tunes and labeled them intermediate or just did a quick overview at the beginning of the lesson or at the end, you would get more views from players like myself and expand your base. It's just a thought as I tend to have an aversion to watching most of these because it's so slow. I realize you know your base and I might not be the right audience for your channel. But I know you try hard and make a living this way so I thought I'd give you the feedback. Overall, I think you're doing something very positive for introducing music to a wide variety of beginning students and think it's great. Hopefully my feedback will help you expand. Good luck on your journey.
I'm an absolute beginner and can't make sense of most of these beginner tutorials on the net. But you SIR made my day. Probably the easiest lesson to follow, with the proper structure! Followed and pressed the bell icon! :) Thanks!
The strumming pattern varies at odd times watching Billy Joe play the song at his home in CA. Some times it’s syncopated. You are totally right about Billy Joe mixing it up. I have been trying to learn and study the strumming for five years. I can now see it’s not a regular pattern , so if you are a beginner learning this be warned, Marty is correct.
Hey Marty Got my first guitar 3 days ago and thanks to your tutorials I already learnt loads of chords and can almost play this song. I really thought I wouldn’t be any good but your videos have given me hope. Thanks for making them 👏🏻
I have been playing for a bit and have made vast improvements (I can finally play and sing!) but consciously paying attention to moving my arm helped me make the chord changes in drive easier. That's a great tip. You might have a video like this already but if not a video showcasing little tips like that would be super helpful! Thanks for all you do!
Great tutorial but would you please tell me why do you put the capo on the 1st fret? The original song is played without capo, guitar tuned half step down.

Maybe because it is titled "EASY BEGINNER ACOUSTIC SONG". Most beginners haven't invested in guitar accessories yet.
