There used to be a 3rd person 40k game that was supposed to be akin to planetside 2. Sadly the devs were extremely incompetent and ran the project straight into the ground.
I believe the line from Terminator best sums up the Tyranids. 'It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with...it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear...and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead.' Never understood why Luetin didn't have this saying in his pocket for Tyranid vid's like he does Hellraiser for Chaos.
I honestly think Chaos can't corrupt the Tyrannids because they just have one giant soul that is so single minded and so utterly absurdly massive and powerful that all four gods just can't do anything about it. This is also a decent explanation for the Shadow In The Warp, there single massive and hungry soul overpowers any psykers instantly.
Kinda wonder about the swarm Lord. If there was one organism that would be effected by chaos that'd be it. Independent and retains memories/ feelings of past lives to improve upon its skills. Furthermore, remembering previous individuals that slayed it. Emotions maybe? Possessed swarm Lord...hmmm
@@daveh5785 Tbh it probably happens all the time. The only issue is when one voice whispers to make a portal to the warp and trillions are screaming "DEVOUR EVERYTHING" its kinda hard to hear the whispers ya know?

They have been eating world for an unknown amount of time. They have probably honed their evoloution pretty well long before they reached the 40k universe.
ive heard the general shock troops they use are evolved to be as close to being the "best bang for your buck" as possible, yes they can make specific forms to better fight an enemy, but their generalist troops are effextive enough as is to where they only churn out the specialist troops for prolonged campaigns, i.e anyrhing from octarius or repeat invasions of worlds
@@ryancollyard3851yea they rely on the “if it isn’t broken why fix it” logic a lot of the time. It could also be for the sheer sake of efficiency of biomass usage.

Always so seemingly random 🤣 earlier I found a comment about the starting line from hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. About the creation of the universe was widely regarded as a bad move. And someone replied "42" lmfao
Synaptic web: I always thought that the Tyranids have their own "space" in the warp like the orcs. But also possible that I have a bad case of crazed ramblings.
Eusocial psychic insects that assimilated other species until they created their own "Chaos God" which manifested as a gestalt intelligence binding them all? I'm a fan of that idea
Your the reason I fell in love with the lore of warhammer. I can’t tell you how long I put this universe off and pushed it to the corner of my other hobbies. For some reason I just never got into it. But seeing how rich and expansive it is through your videos has pulled me in so much. Thanks man!

Man, you're not given enough credit for these videos... They're so eloquently and masterfully structured that even clueless plebs like me, who know nothing nor care nothing of the 40k universe are instantly entranced. If nothing else, you should feel good about making complete strangers admire you.
Words can't truly express how much I love this channel. Like wow! Found this last year during the height of lockdown. I've played some of the video games but thats about it. The level of detail you add is of the highest order. Each episode feels like a full documentary and ALWAYS holds my attention hostage. The lore of warhammer simply blows my mind! I really hope we soon see more anime and live action shows covering this universe. We need more dark, war, loss filled stories. Aka the entire warhammer 40k universe LOL. Ughhhhhh!
Im super pumped to get a tyranid deep dive, they are why I got into 40k. My dad would play space hulk with me when I was little and let me just throw waves of genestealers at him until I killed his space marines, so I could win and he could still go all out. A few years ago I got curious what those space bugs where from and proceeded to watch every video luetin had made.

It would be awesome if there was a scenario in which tyranids are the defenders. They always are the invader. I d love to know how their flesh versions of bunkers or orbital defense would Look like. Maybe they have planet sized super creatures, which birth the bioships.
@@twocheezitz9182 lore wise, they could also have defense structures around the digesting pools. Especially in the stages of heavy fighting, it would make sense to reuse biomatter of your creatures and the enemy
@@Hivetrive I just love the image of a massive Capitol ship surrounded by what looks like a swarm of small ships, but upon closer inspection each ship is large enough to threaten extinction on weaker planets. This whole cloud of biomass hurling through space into our galaxy, sending out scouts that we have seen so far.
first of all: awesome. second of all, and anecdotally, i wish there were enough harlequin lore to justify a series like this :/ nevertheless, the lore that you do hash out is always an absolute blast to go through! thanks for the effort luetin
I'm sure that the weight of his actions is much greater on his shoulder than any accusation he got. He knows what he did, no need to twist the knife in the wound.
I enjoy the idea that Rippers can grow into other variants of Tyranids because it makes them a much more useful organism for infiltration. Deploying them alongside a genestealer vanguard means they could be triggered by the Brood Mind to metamorphize into tunneling organisms if the cult needs more mobility or mining capabilities - but could just as easily be triggered into a carnifex for breaking into fortified orbital laser defense systems, or if the cult is discovered early and they need more numbers: hormagaunts and warriors to lead them. The concept of suddenly having to face down an entire Tyranid invasion force without any of the oncoming warning signs of a Tyranid fleet really increases the paranoia they can inflict over the entire galaxy. Also if you take it to the most extreme - you could have a conquered world producing new narvhal ships that allow the tendrils to make very sudden and unexpected leaps across entire regions of space to bypass readied defense forces!
I remember the first time I listened to this vid whilst trying to sleep and it was my intro to tyranids. I remember thinking how terrifying they sounded that and the demonculaba
Hey I subscribed to your channel about two years ago and I just want to say thank you for all that you do to produce this content! I hope you are doing well and please take care of yourself, comrade! 😁 All hail the lore master!
Termagants, the most badass marines in the universe! In my mind, there are still some rare Imperial Guard soldiers wandering around with stranglewebs around them simply because they didn't panic and didn't try to remove it.
the irony of "the weakness of my flesh disgusted me" mindset but at the same time knowing the perfect species is just highly evolved piranhas 100% made of flesh
IKR they should be an unstoppable force on the table top, that GW ripped off both “Space Marines in Power Armour” vs the “bugs” in the novel and movies “Starship Troopers”....
@@TheSigmaGrindSet that's not even remotely true... also you're thinking of Starcraft which ripped off both ST and WH40K. 40K doesn't resemble ST at all. Humans vs "Enemy type" of all kinds have been a thing much longer than any of the 3, especially aliens of a "bug" biology. Sci-fi films and stories from the 40s and 50s were mostly the insectoid sort of thing anyway so what about that? and I wouldn't even call these things bugs in the way that ST does. Considering the nids have arms and hold firearms and melee weapons, and the bugs are just bugs with sharp legs, wings, stingers, or internal chemical agents for attacking..
You are the greatest, hands down. I dont play the game as my brother does but the lore is greatly underappreciated and kept my mind occupied while i was struggling when i first came home from Afghanistan. Thank you, Sir.
Imagine the Hive from Destiny joining with the Tyrannid. That would be bad... The mixture of their weird space magics and rituals of death and doom would literally become unstoppable unless the Astartes become Guardians on top of their regular upgrades. Like damn.
Who on earth wrote all this? Obviously it was published by GW but this is so much deep thought put into the marketing campaign for plastic miniature figurines.
Your video about Tyranid first contact was one of the first 40k videos I watched. They've been my favorite faction ever since, and I'm glad you're making vids about them again.
I was so pleased to see a new leutin Tyranid for the next painting session and then the added bonus that it's part 1. Best way I've seen the hivemind described is that individual tyrinid bioforms aren't actually individual creatures. Instead the hive fleets are all the true individual tyrinids, and the various forms within are merely individual neurons of the singular mind that they all contribute too
My head canon: Tyranids are the weakest race in the distant galaxy they are from and consume surrounding galaxies in an attempt to struggle and survive in their own home galaxy.
There are plenty of 40k fans theorize that the tyranids are being chased by something else and they just grab whatever they can so they can keep running.

Also the Tyranids aren’t of the Milky Way Galaxy and don’t have that deep connection to the gods’ of the warp being birthed
also, like Luetin touched upon, it is a single mind and at the same time billions of minds.
I was just watching the first contact vid.

Dude, right on. Watched that one couple days ago, been rewatching all the old ones last couple days.
The first contact video was the first I ever watched from the Loremaster. And I really loved it. It was grim, mastefully told, great music in the background....it was and still is awesome. It is still my favorit of all the stories. I love all of them but that first contact was just too good.

For a race that is highly mutagenic and is said to constantly put out new creations, it feels like the tyranids haven't had any new units added to the games lately.
Luckily this is about to change finally
Thats because the units they have are so effective
They have been eating world for an unknown amount of time. They have probably honed their evoloution pretty well long before they reached the 40k universe.
ive heard the general shock troops they use are evolved to be as close to being the "best bang for your buck" as possible, yes they can make specific forms to better fight an enemy, but their generalist troops are effextive enough as is to where they only churn out the specialist troops for prolonged campaigns, i.e anyrhing from octarius or repeat invasions of worlds

"I had originally planned for this to be a single video..."
Your Faith is admirable...
I already knew that Blizzard borrowed heavily from 40K when designing the Zerg but daaaamn!
Everything is a one for one rip of making starcraft just a stupid and shittier 40k
I don't think Game World can point fingers though. They obviously copied the Tyranids off of the Xenomorphs of the Alien franchise.
Luetin: it was going to be one video but now it's three

I'm pretty sure that tyranids don't exist considering GW hasnt done anything with their models in close to a decade.
What is there even to change? They don't exactly need updating
IKR they should be an unstoppable force on the table top, that GW ripped off both “Space Marines in Power Armour” vs the “bugs” in the novel and movies “Starship Troopers”....
@@harrysox2815 have you tried playing as a Tyranid player on the table top?
@@harrysox2815 you really haven't played nids then. They aren't the worst army because knights and tau exist. But they are down there.

Imagine the Hive from Destiny joining with the Tyrannid. That would be bad... The mixture of their weird space magics and rituals of death and doom would literally become unstoppable unless the Astartes become Guardians on top of their regular upgrades. Like damn.
