Exploring these ridiculously tight caves is one thing on its own. Adding the layer of doing such an incredible job documenting the journey in such a meaningful way is just incredible. I feel the emotion of the space thanks to the great camera work and thorough explanations. Thanks Guys. My absolute favorite channel.
I don’t know what this channel is, but it’s potently compelling. Somewhere between philosophy and adventure, on the shores of light irony, where the tidal sands mix with the earnest expression of primal dreams. You seem like a very interesting dude, Calvin. Hope to have a beer with you someday.
Well that's a very eloquent and positive comment thank you. We believe we have a message that isn't about caving. I'm just not entirely positive what it is. It's both scary and lovely getting there.
I can deal with heights all day but this gets my adrenaline going just watching video. Its crazy the extremes people are comfortable in. Really enjoy your videos!
I want you to know I break out in sweat chills come all over me because I don’t like to feel trapped. But after the 5 th video I think it is helping me over my fears by watching y’all work through the situation. I love the videos. Keep it up
I absolutely loved it! The mossy cave you went in was pretty terrifying. I am going to watch all videos on this channel and I appreciate how you said: Guys, do whatever you want. Enjoy life. And the risk optimization idea is quite awesome. In your upcoming videos, I would love to hear more from your internal experience and how exploring adds wisdom and value to your life. I never thought I would enjoy seeing people go caving as much as I do. Yet here I am.
Love watching you both! Gives me good memories of spending my teenage years going mountain biking with my dad and exploring bike parks and different trails. Thanks 😁

You are pretty good at this stuff, and I can tell that right away.. But also, your presentation is EXCELLENT. every time I see a video like this, I try and think about what the pioneers of caving felt going into holes like these with just oil lamps or candles, and no modern safety gear
Well for one thing it was a lot darker. And you didn't get to see all the beautiful colors of caves unless you were a proficient photographer. But this era of caving is the true pioneering era. Previously they just went as far as they could go. We can go much farther now with much better gear for not only lighting but mapping. As well as cave locating through GPS. So it's easier now but caver's just push harder.
I love your videos. I get to live vicariously through you and see some pretty cook stuff, while learning about safety first when it comes to exploring caves.
@@CalvinHikes lol are you pulling my leg? I watched a video of you guys giving safety tips and best practices when caving. I loved it. It taught me so much.

I am marveling at how you and Jacob have avoided a Nutty Putty cave situation where everything went wrong , it must take incredible expertise and skill in all those tight squeezes especially when you are fighting gravity too . This is way beyond the average persons capability and mentality .
Well as you said everything went wrong. It takes a lot for everything to go wrong. And in my opinion that's what happened in the John Jones situation. It's a one off and I bet you never hear anything like that ever again.
I went "spelunking" in a cave system in West Virginia. the entrance was similar to the moss entrance . It was amazing how black lack of light really is !
In my younger days, I too scrounged the Earth looking for any type cave...with assistance of course. Never go alone...never! I remember even digging out some to get in. Those days are over for me now as older age sets in. But I can watch you and your son all the same understanding what it takes to get into some caves... Thumbs Up!
I'd only be willing to do this if it were pre explored caves that I know for certain are traversable. Even then I'd have to struggle to stay calm. But exploring caves noones ever been in. Hell no. Especit not if I have to shimmy on my back through the dark. You guys are animals.
Seen a Tik-Tok with you crawling through a hole so I thought I'd check out your UA-cam channel and I have to tell you, I have never felt so much anxiety while sitting still in my living room than I do right now watching you crawl through those holes. You got one hella set on ya man!!!

I am going to have to start praying for you and your son's safety. You guys are both class acts and extremely brave and determined. You never stop pushing yourself literally and mentally. You are really go after all of man's worst fears
These videos are so satisfying and terrifying. You guys are really a whole lot braver than I. I don't think I'll ever go down one of those holes, mostly because I'm fat lol, but also because I'm extremely claustrophobic and would definitely hyperventilate and pass out. Y'all are awesome and I've been watching all your videos as they fall into my feed. Great caving experience there, always looks exciting
This is so fascinating and awesome I’d never do this but I love people that are adventurous and take risks. I think risk creates stronger men and the problem with people today is they are addicted to comfort and take no risk I prefer jumping from high places into deep water myself Hola from Spain 🇪🇸 👍🏻
Spain! Yes we love our comforts. It's not important that we do hard things but I think it is important that we do meaningful things regardless of their comfort level. Or we will be a less and less capable society.
I am just in shock (and happy) to see how much trust you put in each other. The amount of faith (and love) you place in each other’s hands is inspirational. All of that together let’s you do what you do and we get to peek inside. Thank you for all that you guys do. Protect each other above all else.

There is no official cave certification. But caves are kept private and hidden unless you join a state sponsored "grotto." And then they have a few rules and regulations and some training.
OK thanks for letting me know. I guess even private videos remain visible if they are on a playlist. That's good to know. You're the only one who's watched this!
I envy your passion. Wish i could find something that excites me in life like you and exploration. Your videos have helped me. I battle depression and your content is a great escape.
Passions isnt really for a thing. It's from inside. And obviously if you're depressed, that gets suppressed quite a bit. I believe a 100% of medical workers would agree, sitting around watching videos is not the cure. That being said, depression ends. It always does. Like a big cave, no matter how long the dark persists, there is always light at some point and we always find our way out.
To go where no man has gone before. I love the risk optimization theory. I’ve be living it my whole life but never heard it so accurately described. Thanks

I can see the exploration in this, the same way I see in my love of rock climbing and mountaineering. There’s risk, but words can’t quite describe the rewards. Have fun and be safe!
Thank you
the mental fortitude you and Jacob have amazes me, love the videos!
Oh my Lord, I just stumbled upon your channel and I'm so happy I did. This is only the 3rd video Ive seen but with every vide,o I'm sitting on the edge of my seat, feeling anxious as hell with how narrow and small those areas are that ya'll venture into. Amazing channel! Thank you so much for the great content and the exploring that you both do :)
Thank you so much for the kind words! Our intention is to make each video worse than the previous. Set yourself freeeeee!
Thank you so much. Especially for noticing the documenting work... it is by far the hardest part. But we love showing the cool caves.
I been waiting for another one of these, it’s just amazing what ya do! I don’t think I could handle it.
I’ll give it to you guys. Something I would never do. Strange enough I like watching these videos. Keep it up and be safe!
I want you to know I break out in sweat chills come all over me because I don’t like to feel trapped. But after the 5 th video I think it is helping me over my fears by watching y’all work through the situation. I love the videos. Keep it up
Thank you!
You guys are awesome. I love watching you both explore, and your cometary keeps me watching. Not to mention your utter drive to explore.
A few times watching your videos I became scared for you and had to take a break from watching the rest!you guys have balls.
Thanks for being afraid for us! We'll always be alright!
Love watching you both! Gives me good memories of spending my teenage years going mountain biking with my dad and exploring bike parks and different trails. Thanks 😁
As someone who has to get mri and c.a.t scans regularly for my brain tumor, I find your videos help me as I get really claustrophobic while I'm in there, I think to myself while I'm in there if humans can fit in spaces way smaller than a mri machine that is also much more dangerous surely I can endure one hours in a machine that's going to help me :) thank you for your content!
Wonderful and interesting. We're actually working with some folks now out of New Zealand that are making an app for their medical clinic. they want to help people reduce their cluster phobia through exposure.
Awesome outlook on things 👍 ... You can do it for sure!
My last MRI was 3.5hrs in the tube. The last 5 minutes were the worst.
DasNuk geez, mine only lasted 20 minutes and I never thought it would end. I was shaking like a chihuahua the whole time…. I would have died having a 3.5 hr one.
@@maddawg13 it was full spine MRI. From skull to tailbone.
You guys are great I used to go spelunking as a young man in the 80s I had a botched gallbladder operation 4 years ago which I came out paralyzed couldn't move much at all truck days weeks and months and years to heal still hearing but I came out completely claustrophobic and thanks to your channel and other ones like you I've been watching although I'm sweating shaking almost puking I'm getting better this is my therapy you guys have helped me so much I'm going to keep watching till I love it again God bless you all do the next right thing don't ever quit
Thanks for taking the time to show us all of these adventures. I’ve only ever been spelunking once and it was more of a guided tour through some walks and a few crawls, but these videos have me interested in looking for more experiences!
After watching so many of these videos, I've learned a lot about caving and it's made my initial reaction a lot less anxiety inducing. :) thank you for educating!
Oh no! we will try to increase the anxiety inducing videos in the future! ; )
Love watching you guys. My boyfriend and I watch you guys do this to relax before bed 😂 stay safe you guys! Keep up with the awesome videos! 😊 I hope I can do some less extreme caves some day! Massachusetts doesn’t have too many unfortunately!
Excellent bedtime viewing!
Wow! I am extremely claustrophobic but can’t stop watching your videos! Amazing footage of the splendor of Mother Earth 🌎
Respect from Sweden 🇸🇪
I'm loving all of your caving videos..... Thanks for sharing such great content!! I'm wishing you and your son all the best in your adventures! You're teaching him great skills and this is an awesome way to bond even more. 😊❤
Thank you so much
I just found out this channel 2 days ago and its in my favourite ones. They explain every detail where they go and you can learn alot. Also connection between two of them is great.Kid is great learner and father great teacher. This channel should have millions of views .Great work, greetings from Serbia.
All the way from Serbia! That's cool thank you. And on this channel, we read the comments. ; )
i really didnt think these things were possible now i watch like all of your videos keep it up thanks for the educational entertainment
You are welcome and thank you
This activity is insane. Was even holding my breath every crawl you made. Keep safe always
I must say, these heinous adventures of yours are quite the spectacle. As a rock climber, I understand the risk optimization theory and the drive for doing these activities. I haven't had the chance to explore on this level yet, but if I had a proper guide, I think I would like it.
amazing videos dude. love the exploration. subscribed
You are pretty good at this stuff, and I can tell that right away.. But also, your presentation is EXCELLENT.
I am learning stuff about limestone caves, lava tunnels and how to avoid claustrophobia myself, by watching all the danger vicariously from my arm chair here by the fire. THANK YOU.. VERY interesting Sights underground ! I subbed as soon as I'd watched your first one, now I'm on a Caveman Hikes marathon !
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words!
Man I love watching these, I've always loved watching caving videos but you make it MUCH more fun! Thanks 🙏
You guys keep me on the edge of my seat lol ... my heart pounding as if I'm there with you. Im am so claustrophobic watching your videos... my anxiety 😫 ... be safe!!
second that :
You guys really do find random holes to crawl into huh? Love these vids! RESPECT!
These holes are well hidden near the volcanos of the Pacific Northwest. By near...within 100 miles or more, and a challenge to find. That’s half the fun. Grandpa.
Subbed, even tho I'm getting anxiety and stomachache only watching this on youtube :)
Not sure how I came across this channel as I have zero interest in caves. But this amazing, interesting and so brave of you both. Well done for doing what makes you happy and teaching your nephew along the way. Instant fan and new subscriber.
I’m fine with horizontal cave exploring, as soon as he went vertically a shiver when down my spine 💀💀
Yeah thats when they get stuck with head first and is in the next caving tragedy video, rip...
Don't like and won't never ever do caving but these videos are always thrilling to watch 😍😍😍😍 Take care you guys! 🥺💖💕
Thanks for the comment. We’ll caver in your honor.
Love watching these
I always enjoy reading the descriptions on just about every video I watch on here, & when I read it for this video I got the BIGGEST smile... When it comes to his channel, & his videos addiction isn't the right word obsession is more like it lol!!! I CANNOT wait to hear the story.
Nice! Thanks for reading the descriptions. If there is information which seems helpful helpful or applicable we try to put it in the description.
I like what you said at the end, so I feel like pressing the like button and telling you how much I enjoyed the video.... cheers fellas.
Thank you so much!
I’ve always found cave exploration amazing. Your content is supreme.
Thank you! It's supremely fun!
Watching this I definitely subscribed!!! You fellas are extremely brave and adventurous!!! Please be careful because this reminded me of Nutty Putty Cave in Utah.. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! Yet, we make no promises to be careful.
You guys are amazing. I love the adventurous spirit you two share together. While absolutely terrifying to watch for those of us that are totally unexperienced, it's obvious Jacob will be taking the lessons and courage he's gained from your adventures with him for the rest of his life.
Thank you!
I dont know how you two do it !balls of steel the pair of you.I watch your adventures from the comfort of my lounge in London England.Cause im not afraid to say that I wouldnt have the courage like you two Id be scared i would get stuck.Awesome content guys thanx for sharing.
Thank you! Your videos are inspiring. Not just cave exploration, but life inspiring.
Thank you very much those are kind words.
every time I see a video like this, I try and think about what the pioneers of caving felt going into holes like these with just oil lamps or candles, and no modern safety gear
Legend caveman ever i seen in youtube i really enjoyed alot 😊😊but im scared too but i love to watch😆
I am sitting in a massive open space and I still get claustrophobic
Just started watching your content and am absolutely enthralled.. regards from England ...
Wonderful thank you!
I love your videos. I get to live vicariously through you and see some pretty cook stuff, while learning about safety first when it comes to exploring caves.
I'm glad you're enjoying them. Have we ever taught safety first? I feel like we do our best to ignore all safe ideas.
@@CalvinHikes lol are you pulling my leg? I watched a video of you guys giving safety tips and best practices when caving. I loved it. It taught me so much.
I love how much this channel has grown. Also love seeing someone explores my home, Oregon.
I was born and raised in Oregon. I do live on the Washington side. But I will always be a duck!
A lifes pursuit of trying to re-enter the womb.
if i was to even survive 5 minutes in a cave, i would come out with the biggest confidence on earth!
It certainly builds our confidence
Respect to you guys. Was watching few videos and its just crazy for me to see where you get in.
Hats off to the both of you, sometimes I see the true look of true fear in that boys eye but it’s comforting to know you have each other’s back. You two are awesome and definitely have experiences to carry to the grave! Thanks for posting these videos for everyone out here keep on caving
Thanks, Miles. Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain. Jacob isn’t fearless, but is an amazingly gifted caver.
It's very dark. It's very very dark!
"Why were doing this is uhh still unkown" felt that on a whole other level 😂 it's that love of the unkown for me
In my younger days, I too scrounged the Earth looking for any type cave...with assistance of course. Never go alone...never! I remember even digging out some to get in. Those days are over for me now as older age sets in. But I can watch you and your son all the same understanding what it takes to get into some caves... Thumbs Up!
videos are so calming and informational, love watching them before bed!
I can't believe how small the holes you can get in!
I'd only be willing to do this if it were pre explored caves that I know for certain are traversable. Even then I'd have to struggle to stay calm. But exploring caves noones ever been in. Hell no. Especit not if I have to shimmy on my back through the dark.
You guys are animals.
Ok. These have been explored now. Come check one out. Btw, thanks for watching. Caveman’s dad
@@billsanders9387 If you fly me out there and hold my hand the whole time.
Interesting. Thanks for dispelling my fears of caving.
Said no one ever
Seen a Tik-Tok with you crawling through a hole so I thought I'd check out your UA-cam channel and I have to tell you, I have never felt so much anxiety while sitting still in my living room than I do right now watching you crawl through those holes. You got one hella set on ya man!!!
Yes! Thanks for coming over from Tik Tok. We out here just havin a great time.
I love looking at all your videos, sitting on my chair in a dark room, while claustrophobia slowly takes over... the crazy scary feelings I get all over my body as you guys are cramped in whatever space... it's better than any "scary movie". Thanks!
I was locked in detention centers and places as a kid because I had a crazy mom, I am 40 and can’t even sleep with a door shut still. This makes me feel sick to watch but it’s still so fascinating I can’t stop lol. You guys have some balls that’s for sure!
The claustrophobia fear is kinda like an exposure therapy… ill tell you, I’ve never wanted to go caving as bad as i do when i see you guys adventure!
Like to say you don't got to go caving but just leaving the house is usually pretty healthy.
You are crazy!!! Every video makes me super nervous but i love it. Keep going champs
I’m losing breath watching these videos and also thinking to myself that this is scarier than watching a horror movie 😂😂😂😂😂
These caves look beautiful but so uncomfortable to be!
They were pretty uncomfortable
This is so fascinating and awesome
I’d never do this but I love people that are adventurous and take risks.
I think risk creates stronger men and the problem with people today is they are addicted to comfort and take no risk
I prefer jumping from high places into deep water myself
Hola from Spain 🇪🇸 👍🏻
Spain!
Yes we love our comforts.
It's not important that we do hard things but I think it is important that we do meaningful things regardless of their comfort level. Or we will be a less and less capable society.
Well said
I am just in shock (and happy) to see how much trust you put in each other. The amount of faith (and love) you place in each other’s hands is inspirational. All of that together let’s you do what you do and we get to peek inside. Thank you for all that you guys do. Protect each other above all else.
Your videos are amazing 😉 I applaud you guys for having the courage to go into these caves…But I’m lying all cozy & warm in my bed right now & thankful I’m not where you are! Just be careful & stay safe!!
Your channel has inspired me to do things that I would normally be too afraid to.
So tonight I took a load of industrial strength painkillers, stole my neighbours car and drove it into a lake.
Thanks Caveman adventures!
I'm not sure your targets are appropriate but appropriate but congratulations on the accuracy!
What do you doing when you nephew get stuck?
It's his nephew
@@feelthafunk4548 thank you.
Call him out
This looks fun, how long did it take to get cave certified?
There is no official cave certification. But caves are kept private and hidden unless you join a state sponsored "grotto." And then they have a few rules and regulations and some training.
Also where did you find the link to this video? Did I paste it somewhere? Because it's not a public video. Maybe it's a glitch?
@@CalvinHikes I found the video on one your caveman Playlist at the very bottom but I couldn't find it anywhere else lol
OK thanks for letting me know. I guess even private videos remain visible if they are on a playlist. That's good to know. You're the only one who's watched this!
@@CalvinHikes everyone else is missing out on good content then
Started watching bc this stuff makes me super anxious and claustrophobic and now can’t stop nice content!
Thank you
I envy your passion.
Thanks
Credit to Jordan Peterson that's where I first heard the term.
I get so nauseous watching these. I have to remind myself that I'm not in there. 🤣🤣 Y'all are very brave. Mad respect. Stay safe.
If you love nausia, wait till we upload some virtual reality caving!
THATS SO FUNNY I DO THE SAME THING i have to tell myself to calm down an to actuallu breathe i forget to breathe while watching them. i like hold my breath
What is wrong with these people
Ive been following but never really had a chance to be on youtube until recently. Im just happy this channel kept going ive been on a youtube binge since then! Ive seen half of all tour vids! Cant wait to see the rest!!!nice job and plz b safe! You'll have me thinking about your wellbeing
