We all watch this and see how scary and difficult it actually is and none of us would actually do this but I would like to add one other difficulty factor that this man seems to take on with every video I want he can't even use his hands while he's going through these tubes if you notice one hand is on the camera most of the time and the other one is on in the light which means the only thing that could be pulling him through on the front end of his body are pretty much his forearms and his toes incredibly difficult I tip my hat to you sir
Thanks yo.
As levels of difficulty go, the caving is the easiest part by far. Editing the videos at home is the hardest!
One extra level of difficulty with holding the camera is the caves are freezing so I usually can't feel my fingers.
I simply appreciate that you noted this. So thank you.
The editing is outstanding I really love the parts where you show a picture diagram of how the body is positioned in the cave it really helps the viewer to understand the predicament that you're in
i would like to add he double caves there is no way he gets shots of him descending a cave or coming into a new shaft with out first doing it doubling back then doing it again simply amazing and pure dedication
Yeah I’m

Thank you thank you! Thank you. And as always, safety first!
Well I'm glad that you're enjoying caving yourself.
"Happier people have low expectations"
My curiosity about caving is teaching me so many other little things about life! ☺️
This study was done in Europe. And it wasn't that people expected bad things it was more along the lines that they didn't expect everything to go their way. Expecting every traffic light to be green is a good way to get mad in traffic.
Something like that. The expectation for only good things to happen is the reason that we are all the entitlement generation. We feel entitled to goodness and happiness and it's just not true. Lowering that bar a bit actually results more happiness.
@@CalvinHikes So true! A little change in perspective makes all the difference and it's much harder to be disappointed if you don't have expectations going in.
Oh and congratulations on 100,000 subs! 🎉
@@CalvinHikes What Kind of Nonsense is this!??? How old you exactly?? Because you look my age or at least Close to it and I can tell you right away that my Generation Actually Worked for a Living and Expected Nothing but that which was due from Sacrifice and hard work.

Man, Oscar is a legend. He's literally underground, in a cave with tight squeezes and tunnels, while it's flooding, and what is he doing? Calmly explaining how to make the quintessential PB&J.
He makes a GREAT PBJ
I went to a famous cave site in sweden and when I went caving in one of the tightest caves there I got stuck for a while. And then I saw a big spider crawling like 20 cm from me. And I just sat there frozen. I have never been scared of spiders. But now my biggest fear when caving is meeting a spider. Even if there are no dangerous spiders in sweden I was still terrified
We have clusters of spiders fall on our faces at times. You can see this on some of our videos. We are visiting their place. We tolerate each other
I would rather choose a spider rather than a snake yikes
@@billsanders9387 I'm not built like you guys im terrified of spiders
@@billsanders9387 I have a deep phobia about spiders. But, as a Mom I had to make some peace with them in order not to pass my fear along to Kidlet. When we moved to the farm, I made a deal with them. They get the outside 40 acres, I claim the upstairs in the house. We share the basement.
Occasionally I must evict a trespasser. I allow them to run across my body if I'm gardening outside. But. Falling on my face. Wow. Now that Kidlet is grown I don't think I could muster that amount of self control.

So my first and really only caving experience was Cumberland caverns going through a beginners passage called Fat Man's Squeeze. They called it that because even a bigger person could fit through it with some effort and without the claustrophobia. I couldn't imagine having to basically flop like a fish to make a millimeter of movement to get through some of these squeezes. I'll happily watch from behind my screen.
Thanks guys!
I've _once_ gone in a cave that involved squeezing through a narrow, partially submerged passage on my belly... glad I had the experience, but also completely satisfied never to do it again. Even without claustrophobia (and knowing this cave system was thoroughly mapped) it's hard not to be aware the margin of survivability is just a couple inches - that much more water or less headroom up ahead would mean you're scooting into your tomb. No thanks.
Those squeezes freak me out the most, and also the hidden drops. I can’t imagine what it would be like to get lost and end up in a spot where you can’t turn around or inch your way back out. If you keep going, the odds are not in your favor that you will not eventually encounter something like that...
We really prepare better than most understand. Caving is a bit crazy, but we mitigate the big risks. Thanks for watching
Every time I see one of your videos and hear you say "why aren't you panicking" I know the answer is supposed to be "because if you get stuck you just get unstuck the same way" but this video title is one of the first things I think about.

Since when I was a kid I always wanted to know where a path in the woods is heading etc., so I know very well this urge to explore, which can be stronger than other fears we encounter during the exploration. Finding the heart of a cave must be a priceless thing.
Priceless indeed. Our whole family is wired that way. If it’s our in the boonies, it needs to be explored. We saw a sign pointing to a waterfall near a busy highway. "It is our way of living, not our way of dying"-Caveman That is probably one of the most meaningful lines I have heard in my life, idk how to describe it, but whenever watching your videos all I sense from you is feelings of joy and peace as you explore these caves. Not sure if you will see this comment, but I just wanted to say thanks, your videos give me courage in a sense to continue to do even the most difficult things. Think I'll take a shot at cave exploring sometime in the near future, thanks for being you and stay safe
Thanks!
It's not even about exploring caves it's about getting outside yourself and possibly outside your house.
It's funny the diversity of opinions. Many people see our videos and think we are absolutely suicidal. While they sit at home motionless and watch videos of other people's lives. And they ask what's the point in what we are doing.
This just shows that people are built different.
I have no idea what drives you to do this but you seem to really enjoy doing it and I am not going to lie the video footage you get is pretty amazing and shows a world I will never see otherwise.
So ... Thank you :)
It's just fun! Never occurred to me that it shouldn't be or wouldn't be. Never thought of it as a thing or hesitated. Made a fun family video and people went bonkers so we just started putting our videos on UA-cam.
Thank you and you're welcome!
Thanks for showing to the end when they get out. Its so consoling
People beg for that. So we show it. But it's the worst part for us. The best part is going IN the cave!
anxiety inducing stuff to me, very hard to watch your videos. Yet I can't stop watching them
Expert caver/sandwich maker, the ultimate combo
Unique skill set for bat chasers.
“This is a very unforgiving situation but I forgive me” has to be best quote ever!
Thank you.
I haven't been caving since 1990, I do miss it sometimes and appreciate your vids
The caves haven’t changed. They miss you.
Wow this was a genuinely dangerous one! Fabulous content as always 👌
Genuinely wet and cold, too.
Me encanta como el tío te pega un buen discurso, sin perder la calma como si estuviese paseando por su jardín.
impresionante !
Gracias. Todos es Verdad!
Since I’ve never been caving I would really like to know specifically how taxing it is on you, and has there ever been a caving situation where you didn’t think you had the strength to continue? Btw keep up the great work and of course stay safe👍
I think it's important to maintain pretty top notch health. But like any activity you have to know your own limitations. Caving is not hard if you just take a small chunk. I can do pretty hard core caving for days on end without much recourse.
mannnn been binge watching your vids lol still freaks me out but i love it!
Welcome to the dark frontier
Brah...your one wild cat to be mucking around in a flooding cave, regardless of how little a trickle.
From watching your vids and listening to how you relate to the situation(s) you experience in your various forays I'm sure your 'ducks are all in a row', hopefully this holds till you retire and pass that torch to your young buck, prayers to you & yours for safety, health & prosperity.
We always appreciate your prayers, and we send up a few ourselves on occasion. Calvin Bth Cum Laude
