Bill, the guy that responded to me originally, is the Grandpa of Jacob in this video and he's been caving for 50+ years, maybe even longer. Not all caves are tight squeezes. In fact, in my several years of caving, I've never had to crawl more than a meter or two at a time.

    I got to go through a huge cave system a couple years ago it was black water rafting, as the name implies the cave had large sections of deep river flowing through it and even some mild rapids and waterfalls, the majority of the cave was roughly 40 meters underground, with glow worms and all. It Was an absolutely amazing experience, however only 2 small sections had parts where we had to crawl on all 4 fours, about 1 and a half foot tall. But man I could not imagine going through longer, smaller, and unexplored sections of cave. That's a whole other level of brave or crazy! Good on you guys but man I'd never!

    • @billsanders9387
      @billsanders9387 2 роки тому +44

    • @CalvinHikes
      @CalvinHikes  2 роки тому +59

      The biggest threat to cave sturdiness is whenever we go banging away on them. So when that occurs, care has to be taken. Otherwise it's basically what dad said... knowledge about such things is diverse and it comes with time/experience.
