Guys, I have to tell you. The whole taxonomy thing, Even when I was working in the field, there were "clumpers' and 'splitter'. Clumpers tends to bunch organism into a single species, awhile splitters tend to assign new species for the tiniest variations. But in reality, while biologists try to being order to life, life is messy, and doesn't want to follow the rules. "Species' doesn't even have a hard and fast definition anymore. I believe Forrest Valkai said it well, and this is paraphrased "while we can say definitively that Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens, there process is so gradual that there is no point where you cand say the mother H. erectus and her children were H. sapiens" So we can say the same about Fox Snakes, that we as human can decide or not decide if they are different species. The snakes don't care.
Yeah I think that’s the best way to look at it too.
