I love how you knock and he comes out like what? Who's there? I enjoyed watching his behavior and movements but I will stick to constrictors haha I trust them more.
How could anyone dislike this video. The way you interact with them snakes is so amazing to me.And the way you care about them I would love to get a cobra but I am far from ready that's why I watch your videos to learn. Thanks for these great videos to learn from so when I'm ready I can take the leap into venomous snakes when the times right.
I love the affection you here in his voice when talking to his snakes. Like what you would do when talking to a dog or cat (something less scaley and dangerous ;) ) Even when cleaning that rank cage. Good on you mate changing how we see these misunderstood creatures.
My first post after watching quite a few of your videos. I love this one in particular because he is acting like my human toddler when it's feeding time. And I love how you talk to all your snakes. Thank you for such great videos! Happy new year!
Happy New Year to both you and your wife . . . may the New Year bring you health, prosperity, and joy in your lives, and thank you for the fine videos in which you have put yourself in danger and provided us with a fascination and respect for an otherwise feared and despised species. In the process through years of watching, we have informally come to know you, your wife, and the many characters we look forward to watching, learning about, and seeing their progress in your care. May 2016 not be filled with anymore close calls as with the Black Mamba -- please stay safe. Thanks again.
...LOL that looks exactly like the grocery store china ( from Albertsons ) that I saved up for with stamps, in the 80's...I had my own wedding china and that was too fancy for me for every day use so I saved up the stamps and got about 4 sets of that exact pattern for some of my gal friends...I think they'd squeal if they saw two rodents served up on their china...if they still have it LOL...I still think those snakes hear ur every word and understand ur very adorable narration...I admire your work and ur nerve too but your ongoing affection for these beasties never fails to capture my attention....whew!! GB
Is Elvis getting up there in years or something? He didn't look anywhere near as lively as when he was jumping at your face every time you opened the cage like in older videos. Hope he just wasn't in the best of mood. He's an awesome snake.
They are heated up since they were frozen and had to be thawed and because snakes are attracted to warm prey. Also he doesn't feed them live because it's considered more humane this way and for the snakes safety. Snakes may be scary, but Rats are no joke! When I was young, I ignorantly left a rat in my ball pythons tank for 2 days cause he didn't eat right away, the rat ate the snake :(
1k dislikes on a video like this? Some folks are just dumb. It''s literally a guy that interacts with snakes, what's there to dislike unless u just don't like snakes
Black Beast is an awesome cobra, has he ever hooded a bunch while on video? If so i haven't seen him do it much. And Elvis is funny as always. Btw do you have any false water cobras, ive seen your water cobras but was just wondering.
I haven't found the exact info, but how old is Elvis? Also, what are his general dimensions and how does he stack up against The Buzzard (or the one that ran you out of the enclosure) sizewise? Fascinating animals, but since I've never seen one up close it's hard to tell. My guess for Elvis is 7-8ft? Thank you for all you do ;-)
cobra: the hell is this? i asked for rats garnished with caviar and glazed with lobster....what is this? peasant food...I AM KING OF ALL PATHETIC HUMAN...
I find all of these "you should" comments to be hilarious. You do realize this guy has been a herper far longer than most of you have been alive? He has worked with zoos and some of the snakes he has raised are in exhibits at said zoos. You tube comment sections...where everyone is an expert.
Funny story..I was given what I though was a large Eastern Milk Snake years ago..Kept it two years. It ate lizards and mice. Crazy though? I took it to a Herp Vet because she was not eating right.I took it out to hand to him and he was like " PUT IT DOWN ". Turned out Sybil was a Coral Snake .I lucked out he said.
Come on man you want to own a snake, and didn't know what you had. Hell I hate snakes and even I know the riddle red touch yellow your a dead fellow, red touch black a friend of jake. You were definitely one lucky moron.
4:27- Knock on the wood Cobra: *yawns* oh what now?! Yes yes who is it... Oh no no no ( flares up) I told you I don't eat dead food! I refuse to eat it! Come back with real live food.
I really dont know what 150 dislikers expected to see here. This is VK which is basically his Vlog of snake husbandry, not fake discovery channel trying to make a more "exciting" video by annoying the animal, giving a load of exaggerations and over editing. Or maybe they're all afraid of snakes but came here anyway. And no VK doesnt feed live if he doesn't have to, the snakes got over it, so you can too.
Haha Elvis cracks me up!! He is So Much like a spoiled child, with venom of course… The Black Beast looks Great!! Still Big & Beautiful!!!! GREAT Vid Al!! Still looking forward to seeing Mrs. Viperkeepers reptiles!! LoL Hope You both had a Great Christmas and an even Better New Year!!! Lots of Love, Jenn
+ZUFFAHD King Cobras are temperamental little things. Especially during breeding season; if you watch his over videos, Elvis is always all over the rats, but since he's become a little too much to interact with, and he wants to get his groove on with a pretty lady, he's got sass and lots of attitude.
haha... your way of talking to your snake makes him look like a complete brat ;) may be he doesn't like reheated rats? beautiful black reptile you got there, arent those glass homes a bit small? just wondering
The HeartBrokenBiker Actually, a lot of snakes prefer cages with less height because it makes them feel more secure where as in a large enclosure they feel exposed
a big cage with some good hidey-holes would be the answer- one of those Tupperware boxes buried in the substrate and the snake can come out and climb a tree or whatever
Handling snakes.. quite the interesting hobby. Two folk I know who had the same hobby are dead now. One was bitten by a pregnant snake on the toe. He was a fellow EMT and I have to give him credit. He got the snake back in it's cage before he died because he was worried about us when we arrived.
Ken Cornflocker He made the mistake of getting somewhat careless since he had spitters which is why he should have had an epipen around. Would have saved his life.
Poor Elvis. He really did not seem like himself at all. The Black Beast looks as handsome as ever too, and you can tell him I said so lol. Sir, this may be a stupid question, but I have always wondered something. I understand that if one species of snake were to bite another, it would be fatal. But If a snake of the same species were to be bitten, would it still be fatal? Or does each species carry an immunity to the venom from other snakes of the same species? And here's an ever dumber question. Snakes obiviously eat their own venom when consuming their prey, and it does not hurt them, but can that venom be excreted in its poo, or is it absorbed by the digestive process? Like I said, dumb, but I really am quite curious about this. Feel just like a donk for asking, but reptiles really intrigue me.
2:09- Owner: " what that doesn't met your specifications?" Cobra: ( looks straight at the camera) no! You didn't give me live bait !? I can't eat dead food.
of the snake wanted to get him and hurt him, the snake had every chance to do so. they are quick and lethal its unwise to underestimate them. and if the snake really hated that "small" space that cage door was open long enough it could have left anytime it had wanted too.
Golden myth at the National Zoo in Washington DC except for the Boas and Pythons.. majority of the snakes are in enclosures close to this size. Not big at all.

+fireguyx Elvis gives halfassed lunges occasionally without making contact. If he does make contact with the shoe or camera its with his mouth closed, at least as far as Ive seen and Ive watched all vids for the past several years.
What I’ve noticed over the years of watching so many documentaries on King cobras is they very much have there own traits and personality’s! And when they stare you down you can see them working you out,the cogs very much are turning in there brains! Very intelligent breed!! And obviously you would know from moment to moment what kind of mood they are in! And I’ve heard in a few occasions that some King cobras can stand and look a man straight in the eyes! And they can turn carnivorous especially a male into a smaller female!! Never did I think they would or could do that!!
King Cobra Impression: "Am much danger" "No hand on food!" " I'll do a bite" "Wot?" "Pls do a leave" "Wot dis? " Heck off Blek Snek!" "Am much danger" ... "Food?" "WOT?" "You leave, food?" "Heck off Dad!" "Nuu! Come back evil Dad!" "Wot? Food-a movin'?" "Nu Dad, I dun want a maus!" *drunk dad
Not at all. He has respect for the animals he works with. King Cobras are actually relatively docile snakes. Which surprises people for some reason. His isn't aggressive. Not only that, he has a very large understanding of these snakes. How they operate. And exactly how to handle each one. Some need more caution. Others don't. He keeps his guard up regardless. He knows what he's doing. Majorly
Watched 2 of your vids and live them. I have two ball pythons and i am hooked on snakes :). And elvis there cracked me up. And when you knocked on his hide and he popped out was pure gold haha. Stay safe friend !!
The Black Beast must be my absolute favorite. He is so mellow. Another thing I had not noticed before the the new cage that Elvis is in is lined with a glass shield on the inside of the wire. All I have to say is nice. I was hoping that a bigger cage would have calmed him down. But he may be just being a king cobra and I am still learning thier behavior so I have learned something.
Great video! Always love seeing Elvis. And then the show stopper THE BLACK BEAST. They are beautiful Mr. Viperkeeper. As always love hearing the Mrs. Viperkeeper in the background. I would be just like her. Im not a very public person.
I love how you knock and he comes out like what? Who's there? I enjoyed watching his behavior and movements but I will stick to constrictors haha I trust them more.
I especially love how he makes quick movements then pauses. Reminds me of my leapord gecko I had a long time ago.
Sifaka I saw a water moc last night
ShadowKittyKat Thesmolbean my leopard gecko would sit on my shoulder while i did dishes and watch tv
snake handlers have some serious balls
Weiner Pianist I could say the same with larger dogs.
Timothy L true dat
it's crazy he's not trying to escape at all, he even looks over the edge. I'd be like "screw your freezer rats, jail break!!" and then bite the guy
The Black Beast was such an awesome snake. I'm sure he's missed greatly. .

That king cobra is beautiful but clearly cranky haha and the "Black Beast" is looking as good as ever I see.
When I see King Cobra (favorite animal) and Black Beast in the same video, I'm ready for the best 20 minutes ever! haha Happy New Year!
My first post after watching quite a few of your videos. I love this one in particular because he is acting like my human toddler when it's feeding time. And I love how you talk to all your snakes. Thank you for such great videos! Happy new year!
LOL I got those same plates
troundtree97 congrats ur officially a 🐍

Terrarium looks awesome Al! I will need one of these in a few years.
Dude The Cobra When He Or She Was Denying The Food Reminds Me Of A Kid Saying "No! I Don't Want To Eat Broccoli! It's Nasty!"
Jesus Christ at 10:29 I for sure thought he was gonna bite you. Made my heart race a bit

its a king and you feed him with that poor ceramic? :D he is looking at you like are you serious? :D
Elvis.exe has stopped working
LOL
Wow, great video. This one has over 100,000 views.
Wouldn't Elvis prefer live rats that he can hunt? I'm sure he would.
I have been away from the lair for a long time. Elvis is gigantic, but still spoiled.
Interesting. But why not put live rats in the king cobra's cage, to eat at it's own preference? Those cold dead ones don't look too appetizing.
They are heated up since they were frozen and had to be thawed and because snakes are attracted to warm prey. Also he doesn't feed them live because it's considered more humane this way and for the snakes safety. Snakes may be scary, but Rats are no joke! When I was young, I ignorantly left a rat in my ball pythons tank for 2 days cause he didn't eat right away, the rat ate the snake :(
Live rats can injure a snake
Great video! Elvis is such a diva. Thank you!
1k dislikes on a video like this? Some folks are just dumb. It''s literally a guy that interacts with snakes, what's there to dislike unless u just don't like snakes
He’s so brave I wouldn’t even go near that thing.
Looks like they wanna bite his ass for feeding them dead rodents.....they're like, u eat em'. 😁😄
good caution. we always have a king cobra in our house gr8.
Black Beast is an awesome cobra, has he ever hooded a bunch while on video? If so i haven't seen him do it much. And Elvis is funny as always. Btw do you have any false water cobras, ive seen your water cobras but was just wondering.
Did the black beast pass away??? :(
@14:23...love ur shirt, dude.
im so jealous of elvis I absolutely love cobras and wish I could add one to my collection but its not realistic for me right now with my newborn
What species of King is it? Chinese?

I thought you didn't like that kind of sub straightthat's in with Elvis, in this video Spoiled King Cobra & Black Beast Takes a Bath ..
Why feed it rats? Dont king cobras exclusively eat snakes?
Just give BB a little paint pallet XD
dude got some balls handling those snakes lol
I thought other snakes were its favorite food ?
king: dude! get me macdonald stuffs or kfc for the worst...not same old cloned stripped rats..yuck..

I know. People have made those comments for years. Since l started watching seven years ago. Everyone's an " expert" lol
he ponders about life and the universe

maybe he's thinking "Those rats are past their expiration date"
I wonder what's going through that snakes mine when he was looking at the camera
Haha he is spoiled and eating off a dinner plate 😂
that cobra is like a toddler who won't eat his veggies lmao
Elvis:*looks at the rats* WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!!
Dead rats: *dead*

I think Elvis was trying to tell you he's sick of rats and wants good rabbit dinner lol The black beast is beautiful too :)
Beautiful animal. Hes got such a character lol. Good job on keeping these truly stunning animals
Very interesting snake, He's got a good personality
Snake be lookin at the mouse like 'you expect me to eat this?'
snake is like 'bitch wtf is this pesant food'
So, Elvis is getting taller and taller. Hence it is too dangerous to let him take a stroll through the house anymore. Is that right?
King Cobra Impression:
"Am much danger"
"No hand on food!"
" I'll do a bite"
"Wot?"
"Pls do a leave"
"Wot dis?

" I distinctly ordered LIVE rats - AWAY WITH YOU MINION!!" :D Love it.
Am i the only one that thinks this guy is out of his freaking skull... my god...
+Sean J At least three people agree with you. I have nothing but respect for the man.
Not at all. He has respect for the animals he works with. King Cobras are actually relatively docile snakes. Which surprises people for some reason. His isn't aggressive. The King Cobra is may be thinking, Good, now that you've washed that thing, give it to me, I fucking hate eating dead mice.
I thought I had seen it all.
RIP BLACK BEAST!!! may u slither with the best!!
SO great how you got to handle the black beast! Wonderful to watch
lmao "what do you want" snake above him pops up, "hey"
Did not know there were so many "arm chair" quarterbacks!
Great video! Always love seeing Elvis. And then the show stopper THE BLACK BEAST. They are beautiful Mr. Viperkeeper. As always love hearing the Mrs. Viperkeeper in the background. I would be just like her. Im not a very public person.
10:25 I found pretty funny. XP
I've gotta give this man some respect bc I kind of wanna puke every time the snake launches at the camera.
@10:28 that snake knows the foods not the problem you are. he's out to get you my friend stay safe.
Ok I have a stupid question......do snakes have personalities? Do you think they get to know you by sight?
All I see are snakes trying to work out how to kill you lol
"NO you can't visit the forest cobra. There you go use me as a super highway." XD
2.12 to 3.20 - waiting for a Selfie
I've seen Elvis at the Sacramento reptile show.
he's big
