Don't know how this popped into my recommended but I'm glad it did. I graduated high school around 2012, and while we all had social media back then, it wasn't nearly as big and all-consuming as it is now and I have been worried about how big of an effect it has on kids today. You did a great job with this, trying to tackle the subject from as many angles as possible with the sensitivity such heavy topics need. A lot of people, especially older people who aren't as online, really don't seem to understand the gravity these kinds of posts have and how big of an issue they can be. Some years back I remember the app Yik Yak getting a lot of national attention, but since then I've only heard of isolated incidents catching a lot of attention rather than the wider issue of students anonymously posting about their classmates and the harm it causes.

I’m glad it came up on my recommended cos I’ve been thinking about this (and those accounts that post videos of people without their knowledge) and have been wondering what the long term effect of these accounts will have on our culture.
While I’ve seen worse than what the smash or pass accounts allow to be posted (unfortunately), it’s still so aggravating! If they were said in person it would totally be s harassment and bc of the anonymity of the submissions no personal accountability can happen AND the fact that there is no administrative oversight for this behaviour is just… ugh (plus with this being a high school page I’m guessing quite a few of those people s*xualised would be minors which just makes things even worse) I don’t think I’d be able to go to any school if my name showed up on one of those pages, the paranoia would kill me.
thanks for bringing awareness to these sorts of accounts. I just wish more people thought about what they post and the possible real life consequences :/

As someone who graduated high school just before social media really took over it's very fascinating to see how they influence Student life nowadays.
Very cool video! Keep it up

I disagree and say that the me too account would be positive by making people more willing to contact others

@@rockpods4498 I'm a bit confused. Do you disagree about the MeToo account and think it should not be positive? Or do you think that it is positive? Because if it's the latter then that's what I had it as

@Jake Stalvey I am just saying that the way you did end up kind kf downplaying how important just letting people feel safe talking about what happened to them ended up not quite sitting right with me. I am saying that I believe being able to even just feel safe enough to come out about these horrible things is a very important thing. I do not believe what you said is wrong and I would love to see more content like this.

That's fair and I agree. I tried including that but think I maybe didn't put enough focus on that aspect
