Well researched and presented, looking forward to the future parts, and glad this came across my dash! I work as a paraprofessional in an elementary school, and am certainly seeing similar things to your research (more developmental of course, given the age range). There are kids in 4th grade who had their first public school experiences last year, and it really shows. I just hope that nationally, something will start happening to address the very obvious need of the upcoming generations, because trying to provide the mental health support needed is extremely difficult when districts are losing staff, resources, and also budgeting. It sometimes feels like there is nothing that can change the statistics, and I can sympathize with the statistics provided regarding teachers and school staff. All we can do is try the best we can.
extremely great video. thanks for including the political aspect because it is a huge part of it. not done with the video yet but for years schools have been defunded and charter schools are being pushed. lots of politicians legit want religion brought back into schools. and access to birth control and divorce is getting harder. this is all connected in a scary way which is becoming more obvious every single day. i am not trying to be a doomer about it. it is just true and we need to recognize it in order to change. this is connected to project 2025 and there's nothing anybody can to do convince me otherwise 💀
I do see more mental illness in young men and boys. Was not to surprised conspiracy theory played a role in this malady. Nice and cutie way to explain mental illness. I liked Dr. K. Keep up the good work, maybe mental health worker in the future?
Got bad news for you then Planning on hopefully doing a charity fundraiser in a few months where one of the milestone stretch goals is to shave it all off But we’ll see how it turns out
@@jakestalvey I wish you good luck with this. If you have some time look into issues of young men, there is not that much of content where stats are correctly cited and context is given. For instance: Dropping share of men in universities, high share of men suicides, high share of prisoners, lonelyness in some countries, ...
. Let me shine a light in this room. Mental health is a complex issue. But I'm an optimist, I don't think kids are doing as bad as the studies represented here do say they are. It's better to get first hand accounts, like talk to the younger generation and really ask how are people doing. I think a good question to ask is how many kids are playing some of the video games ever created? (and spending more time online in front of their phones instead of socializing in real life?) Technology is a tool. It entertains and connects people but it can also be socially isolating and damaging to our mental well being. There's a balance, here.
I made several points. 1. I don't think kids are doing as bad as the studies represented here do say they are. 2. Technology is a tool. 3. There's a balance, here.
You're using technology to communicate with me. Do you feel like its damaging to your health? Then stop using it. anyway, Anyone can use technology to learn about better health lifestyle options. I got the solutions for you right here. 1) No more smartphones for people under 18, stop the always-online lifestyle. Their brains are not fully developed, and even then, adults can't handle the constant information dump of being always connected. Kids can't handle it all. 2) No more pathologizing every aspect of teenagehood as "mental illness" and giving kids therapy for things that every kid goes through. Includes helicopter parenting.

I recommend you watch the next part when it comes out, because I talk about both of those and the stats behind them
I had to turn it off. Please get to the point you want to say.
