I'm currently a senior in a secondary English education program here in the US, and you hit the teacher shortage stuff on right on the head. From own experiences observing schools over the past few years, one thing I'd like to highlight that's contributing to high turnover rates is the lack of support, or outright hostility, from administrations and parents. Many administrations are either completely apathetic in supporting their teachers or overly micromanage-y and suffocate both new and veteran teachers alike. Additionally, there's a surprising number of parents (at least of the current middle schoolers that I've personally seen) that are completely disinterested in supporting the teachers that educate their children each and everyday. There's been a couple parents that've completely disregarded serious behavioral issues and cursed out my hosting teacher because they are not capable of accepting something might be up with their kids. It sucks hearing about the teacher you had your freshman year because so many of us in the programs fear the exact same thing happening to us when we get out.
Anywho, you did a great job addressing the teacher shortage and it's inspiring to see young people showing concerns over us passionate idiots who chose this career path. Keep up the great work, I look forward to the next videos you make!

Jake, I've worked as a teacher and got out shortly before Covid. Businesses, including schools, don't really want to train people to do anything, and it really doesn't help that students will take their frustrations out on the teacher in the classroom and then the teacher gets blamed for it. It's a big mess, and yes, I started encouraging parents to enroll their kids into private online schools and homeschools. I realize it's not for everyone, but because they have lower regulation, they can often get better results than a public school. Plus there are no mental health wrecking events--like the threat of active shooters, lock-downs, bullying, and other things.
I also hate the way the religious community has ostracized the queer community. It flies in the face of all they claim to stand for, and the only way their treatment of it makes sense is if a lot of people outside of LGBTQ just don't believe the persecution exists. I guess it's easy to ignore a problem you don't have to deal with, sadly.
Also, my understanding of the "anti-woke" backlash is because people outside of these groups, for example certain groups of mostly white cishet men and women, feel called out and demonized, and the truth is no one likes to be left out or hated, regardless of how good it makes others feel to see that. "Reverse bullying and discrimination" is still bullying and discrimination, and it generally doesn't make people who feel unfairly targeted feel good, even if they are in the "safe" group to pick on.
Fascism, I think is a highly controversial and misunderstood topic in the country, and I really don't think that's what's really going on here. I think the way people on the right stir up moral panics, people on the left pull out accusations of fascism and nazism, which, by the way, aren't the same things, and I'd argue that wanting stability within your culture is neither of those things. This "daunting political issue" could by and large still be solved with a band-aid---information, not just representation, and regulation of the companies and political systems that make extreme dichotomies like these possible; whereas with nazi-ism/fascism, the disease is incurable, and there is no other option but to save yourself and bury the dead.
Using "TERF" as a derogatory slur for the gender critical is unproductive, especially since transgender conditions are still not widely understood by the general public, which is why there needs to be information, not just representation. People raised with an understanding of second or early third-wave feminism may feel they're just protecting women, further widening the gap in the public's understanding as well as adding to persecution of people inside of trans-identifying groups.
This is a democracy, as much as people want to claim otherwise, and whether we fail as a country or society depends solely on our ability to adapt and beat the companies and politicians at their own games. It's admittedly hard to do with limited resources and even more difficult when we don't fully understand the various issues at play causing this division. It needs to be done, though, and we're capable of doing it, if we can put aside our non-important differences and work together. If not, though, if we rely on the government, celebrities, or politicians to sort us out, we may indeed be doomed.

I am one who complains about the diversity in media. However my complaints were never about the diversity itself. My complaints are that the diversity takes precedent and the piece of media suffers for it. Be diverse but don't do it to a fault. If it's a fault, it needs worked on.

I.e. new ghost busters, Mulan, or Cleopatra "documentary".

I understand your point, but what was wrong with the new Mulan? I googled it but don’t see all that much about any controversy regarding diversity. For the record, I haven’t seen it, and it seems like from reviews it wasn’t that amazing either. But the original story is about Chinese people, so it’s not like they differed very much from the original in terms of representation

I do understand your point. I just think the conversation for these should focus less on the diversity aspect and instead on what was messed up (largely writing). Like not criticizing them for what they did right (or at least good or at least ok), and instead criticizing for what they did wrong - since that’s what matters more and where the issue ultimately is. Also, criticizing those faults in production are less destructive in that they don’t tear down the positive things (like diversity)
      If that makes any sense
