- Hey everyone!
My Stihl MS441CM M-Tronic chainsaw has not been running as well as it should, so I thought it was time to do some routine maintenance and replace the carb kit.
This video shows the step-by-step removal and replacement of the carburetor diaphragm kit inside of a Stihl Walbro HD carb.
**Applies to both M-Tronic and regular Stihl HD Carbs**
**Carb kit part number from Walbro is K10-HD**
Watch as I carefully disassemble and replace the carburetor kit and explain along the way.
Cheers! - Навчання та стиль
Just wanted to say that you have special talent explaining things, keep going.
Thank you! I’ve been on a bit of a break since I started re-finishing my shop.
Yes it has been a long time, 6-months since your last repair video, I ended up developing a complex in all that time. HAHA! So a Stihl with an Mtronic is it eh? I think we will call that a Stilch then. I think you did a really great job, you were really careful not to damage anything while taking it apart, you serviced the carb with a cleaning and new carb kit professionally, and you put it back together with just as much care, that is something that I like to see. I gotta say, that thing has excellent throttle response, vroom vroom, ready to cut some wood.
Great informative video. Thank you.
good to see you back miss the video
Thanks Alex!
got to love those Crappy Tire tools...especially when they are on sale. I'd stack their combo wrenches up against the ones sold off those white and red trucks any day. ;-)
Thanks for the clear video Dave.
Cheers from NB
Totally agree!
Great video,I've never had to mess with any M-tronic carbs.
Maybe one day! Thanks Ryan!
Good to see you back at it Dave. Very good video and your right about the conditions a saw works in. The only thing dirtier than working on a chainsaw is working on a concrete saw. You keep your saw alot cleaner than most! 👍🎥🇨🇦🇺🇸Roger
Hey Roger - I appreciate the kind words! It’s good to be back.
You clean it, and you keep it clean often, there's no reason not to. 😉
Nice work Dave.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the videos keep them coming
Thanks Carl!
Thanks for the help!
Cheers Matt!
Well done Dave. I haven't rebuild a M-tronic yet
Thank you! Let me know when you do!!!
Don't worry, there's still time. Looks at watch, ohhhh, would you look at that, it appears the time is now! Have fun now you hear?
I have 2 of these. The black solenoids didn't work, the green ones were a problem too. I'm on to white to see how they'll do. Stihl says white isn't for the this saw, but I've heard they work just fine with the new orange fuel filter. We'll see.
Let me know Philip - I just filmed a video on how to change out the solenoid. Just need to edit. I had good luck with a green solenoid on the MS441CM. Cheers!
Excellent
Thanks!
Welcome back to you also.
Thanks!
Dave, ive gotta replace my throttle cable in my ms441cm. Once the carb is out of the way is it pretty accessable? Theres no room at all with the carb on it. Ive always had saws with simple linkages, so this is my first go around with a cable replacement.
Great video sir, have you ever worked on a Stihl 066? I think I'll do a carb rebuild.
Echo srm run great for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power, after a few hours later it run great again for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power again.
Check your fuel tank vent
Mastercraft for the win
I agree!
Dave -- Like all the other commenters -- Where the Heck Have You Been ? -- jk 🤣🤣 -- Good to see you back ! -- Your shop is looking tight, man !
Hey Jay! Very busy year for me on the personal side of things. Glad to be back!
hi dave , did i miss something , no ck on needle tang height when going back together
Hey Dave! Good call. I have yet to have any trouble using a brand new OEM metering lever.
Is your saw ported ?
Hey! No, it isn’t.
Iwould have lost all the screws already. If i dont use a magnetic tray i might as well throw the carb away because i wont have screws to put it back together with.
