      Taryl, you're the MAN dude. You should add some wiring map prints to your web and sell them. I'm trying to convert a pull start toro walk behind mower to electric start watching your video. Hopefully, I succeed.

    You and other fun quality content shows have replaced tv as far as I'm concerned. Look forward to seeing you every sunday morning as much as I used to with cartoon shows as a kid. Short ads up front i can tolerate as long as i get a good 20 mins of uninterrupted show. Thanks again 😃

      Once in a while i i see a comment like yours where the person says something about ads and i'm like what ads?? i always forget Ive had adblocker for years on my computer,i have yet to see a add on UA-cam so i dont even know what they look like,lol,try it sometimes,it works great, only time its a problem its if you want to read a article on the internet and the site might tell you to disable it but it takes like 2 seconds and once you leave that particular site its right back on.

      @@dntlss You should turn off ads for things you really enjoy watching on youtube. Ad's help pay for them and keep an incentive for keep producing content. Alot of work goes into making these videos. They should get a piece of the pie too.

    Your instruction on how to work on the carbatrator was absolutely extremely well done. I was able to fix the bogging problem, thanks to this video. The screen was clogged up. I could put a flashlight behind it and it was about 80% stopped up. So I put it in a jar of lacquer thinner overnight, shook it up, and it unstopped the little holes in the screen....put it back together, (without the need for a rebuild kit), and it runs fine. (Stihl MS250 saw). KUDOS to you for making such an outstanding video for us homeowners out here.

    Thank you Taryl for giving me the confidence to take my saw apart and know what to expect. Funny thing is, I work on commercial and residential hvac, industrial air compressors, and on and on. But I'm worthless with auto mechanics and small engines. I figure I won't be for long though, since I'm getting my credentials from the school of Taryl Fixes All!

    Thank you guys for posting these videos. I watch them because there's a lot to learn and I get more comfortable working on our lawn mower, chain saws, weed eater while sitting on a bench outside the tool shed. I know you can't do a video on everything. You probably have a lot of requests for advice. My older neighbor has a Cub Cadet lawn tractor, with a mower deck and push blade attachment. It has a Kohler motor with an NK "carbitrator". This carbitrator has a tiny fuel pump built inside the carbitrator housing. That's a first for me. I was thinking about doing a conversion carbitrator with an external fuel pump, but it's probably best just to clean out the carbitrator as it stands. I'd like to help him get his tractor up and running before winter snow sets in. I understand you can't answer all your requests. Just wanted overall to thank you guys for these great videos and tons of useful information. Thanks for dinner Taryl!!!!!!

    Wow Taryl, I have never seen power equipment repair presented with such enthusiasm! Most lawn equipment shops will do anything they can to sell you a brand new carburetor, usually running in the $30-40 range. They will invariably either pull the "it's more cost-effective" approach, or tell you "rebuild kits aren't guaranteed", when 99% of the time the problem can be solved by purchasing and installing a rebuild kit for $8. Usually it's the soft components that degrade: gaskets, flanges and seals, mainly from running fuel containing high concentrations of aromatics (ie benzene, toluene, xylene, etc) through the carburetor. Using Stihl's pre-mixed fuel will help prolong the life of these soft components, and decrease deposits and wear on your engine's moving components, but the difference in wear and deposits between pump fuel and the pre-mix fuel on its own does not justify the extra cost of the pre-mix. In my opinion, what you're paying for with MotoMix is the lack of aromatics, which cause leukemia, which are found in plentiful supply in ordinary pump gas.

    • @alexstromberg7696
      @alexstromberg7696 2 роки тому

      Yeah and you have to pay for the labour of installing the kit. Which would end up more expensive than just installing a new carb in 15 sec.

    Taryl.....I would be tempted to just replace the whole “carbatrator”. I see the C1Q S57A for under $20 from many parts suppliers. ???? I also have a small funnel with a micron filter inside to fill my small engines that don’t have fuel filters built on.
    Nice videos, someone should give you a break and do a reality show. Very few people attempt major automotive repairs or body work which has may TV shows. We are more likely to do our own work on small engines, hence the reason for Taryl Fixes All on the tube!

    Just used your video to repair the exact problem you demonstrated. The chainsaw kept bogging down when I throttled it up. Replaced the diaphragms and gaskets along with the video and.....it wouldn't start. Crap. After much cussing, I noticed the fuel filter had gotten moved in such a way that it was not getting any fuel through it. Gave it a flick and she fired right up. Revved it up for all it was worth and it never crapped out once. Thanks for the help.

      True story: my neighbor had me working on his old school Stihl about a year ago. He tried to do the repair himself before he brought it to me. He said he was searching youtube and found some goofy guy with crazy teeth. He thought it was just a goof channel and didnt watch the whole video. I laffed and told him that Taryl was a mechanical genius. He looked at me like I was stupid. I just said to him,"If you dont get the joke,you ARE the joke". Back to reality tho.Taryls videos speak a language that only we that dabble or do this alot understand. We know enough to 'fill in the blanks' on what may be overlooked or edited. Therefore it all makes sense to us and we comment on the comedy and skits. The bulk of the comments are on the personalities in the skits. Look for yourself and see how many questions are actual how to questions and how many responses that person gets. Sorry, this is a "you get it or you dont" channel. A Black Chevy drives down the road with a big "3" on the doors. You get it or you dont! Just my opinion.

    Taryl, I have a question about a craftsman 17hp IC platinum Intek, if it's okay to run it by you. Engine started fine and I backed up, then after shutting it off and restarting, it cranked maybe twice, popped lightly (or pooped) and was dead, wouldn't crank and solenoid wouldn't even click. Checked the battery, shorted the solenoid, no change. Replaced ignition switch and solenoid no change in symptoms. Jumper cabled the seat interlock switch, no change. Blades are disengaged, foot on brake when needed. Possible starter? Thank you...

    Happy Halloween 2021 Taryl to you and all the boys. Thanks for all the GREAT videos. This is one of the bestest. I keep wondering who does the editing and sound effects? One of you guys does more than fixin carbetrators. I have an old Stiltz 032AV and it says "West Germany" on the side. It still runs great but it stopped oiling. I ordered a new oil pump, not knowing if that will fix it. I'll change out the filter too but I'm hesitant about changing out the rubber oil hose that pumps from the oil reservoir to the chain. And thanks for the link to Stihl products. I buy my kits online for much cheaper. I don't know what everybody is harping on China when they make most of the stuff we use and those greeedy Wall Street guys get rich by raising the prices on it and selling it to use retail with a 1,000% mark up.
    Thank you guys. Have a warm Holiday Season 2021! Thanks again for all the great videos and hard work.
