    Hey Fab Willy
Great investivegative work, Ones initial intuitions are generally correct.
With the runaway you may have been able to kill it by pushing the decomp in that beats getting a Shock out of life if not needed.

i Have a saw from my late dad. no id info on it.. no metal plate, the stickers are all gone we do know its is a Husqvarna lol, could be a 285 or 2100? has XP sticker on it. was seized up just from sitting long time?.. trans oil in exhaust port and in spark plug light taps on flywheel it moves.. starter recoil was sticky oiled that up too. oh yeah PSI is only 90 psi??? maybe gauge is wrong saw should not run at all right?? but still works great. removed and cleaned carb. runs fine. high speed set to about 10500. but have adjustments screws set at :Lower 1.25.. and high set at 1 turn. seems to run fine bro in law cut wood with it yesterday.. we all like the saw nice fast powerful.. now to get a 32 inch bar for it be a great felling saw. BUT it is missing the idle screw.. lol Sure went through the logs nice and fast.

    Hi Tinman and Willy!!😀😀
So many people reck their saws just from running dull chains. Then they complain that the saw is junk.
There is nothing worse than a dull chain. Anyone who thinks it's okay to continue to keep running their saw once the chain is dull deserves what they get.
That is such a nice saw for that too have had it happen to.
    Take care guys!!😀😀

If the top end is salvageable, what would be a fair ballpark price for a shop replacing the seals and bearings? I bought a non running 550xp and the piston and cylinder were toast. The intake bolts had loosened up and I thought that was the problem. I put a new meteor piston and caber ring in a good cylinder and it's still suckin air. I haven't the tools to pressure or vacuum test it. I dont have much to put in it,but it's got potential and I dont wanna junk it.

What causes that seal failure is an inboard clutch with a cylinder that does not evacuate Heat very well if you get you a laser thermometer and monitor it while it's running you'll see what I'm talking about over there around the clutch gets upwards of 350 degrees and if you look at the air flow paths it all tries to go out at the clutch but then the clutch holds it in and adds more to it very poor design

    The Lumberjack
    Jackyl
    Composition: Jesse James Dupree
I was born in the backwoods
    Of a two-bit nowhere town
Fathered up some rock 'n' roll (baby)
So your mothers could boogie down
    I ain't whistling Dixie
    No I'm a rebel with a groove
All around the world the go 'round and 'round
When they dig on my new stainless steel sound oh, yeah
    I'm said a lumberjack baby
And I'm gonna cut you down to size
    I'm a lumberjack baby
And you're the one you're the one that gets my prize
When you hear my motor running
You know I surely be coppin' a rise
Oh! So I'm gonna crank it up and down cut it
    I'm a lumberjack now baby
    I'm a lumberjack now baby
    I'm a lumberjack now baby
    I'm a lumberjack now baby
But I ain't jacked my lumber baby
    Since my chain saw you
Whether you like it or whether you don't woo
That's the way we like it
    eu nasci no sertão
E eu vou te cortar no tamanho
    Eu sou um bebê lenhador
E você é o único que recebe meu prêmio
Quando você ouve meu motor funcionando
Você sabe que eu certamente estarei tentando subir
Oh!

Exactly why you should always keep a sharp chain, never an excuse to run a dull chain, I've been around some people whom say owell I've only got a couple of more cuts to make, and you are listening to their saw begging for a sharp chain, that 5 minute job turns into 20

Yep, had a 200T come in a couple times with tuning issues, I eventually just replaced the crank seals. Turns out they have a bakelite seal so I bought seals from my local bearing supply, runs good now.

And the AV system sucks to say the least and don't even get me started on the throttle response I would never even dream of doing felling with one of those pull the trigger today and it throttles tomorrow I have gotten to the point where if somebody brings one to me I tell them no
