- All the details about one of my favorite cream paint colors, Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois. This is one of the most versatile paint colors I’ve used to date. It’s a great fit for a lot of spaces and it’s so soft.

It is an excellent color for low light rooms when nothing else works and it looks fabulous with so many colors and wood tones. We replaced our favorite BM White Dove with this upon a repaint and love the non yellowish creamy, gentle warmth. White dove pairs well with this as does Slate Blue, Silvery Blue and Lookout Point.. Great transitional paint color as well and was glad to hear you describe it as such. Love your videos!

Julie! Thank you sooooo much! I was having a really, really hard time finding a paint color to match my vision. My house is low light -- but not impossibly so. Just low light enough that the Uber popular colors that are are meant to be light and airy, look much, much too dark (Repose Gray, Edgecomb Gray, Gray Owl, etc.) The painters are here - and I had a paint fail despite having a gazillon test pots - and asked them to try your color "Soft Chamois." I am working from home with COVID and was too nervous to check on them. I was going to live with it - however it turned out. And to my delight - it looks as beautiful in my house as it does in your video. I am over the moon tickled and wanted to share my delight. My house faces South and my living room has East, South and West rooms -- but there are giant trees on the neighbors property that shade it pretty darn well. And yet -- My living room now looks light and bright and airy and modern and charming and all the things I had on the wish list in my head! THANK YOU!!! For reference, I paired it with SW Pure White trim and ceilings (in my low light this white looks really crisp and fresh) and my interior doors are SW Tricorn Black.

My living room is a tad dark east facing, do you think it would look nice? I don't want too yellow or too dark 😅 thanks
Thanks for the video ... LRV is new to me. I painted my house in BM Pale Oak with un-tinted or Chantilly Lace trim. So I immediately looked up Pale Oak’s LRV ... 70. Now I know why it’s just a little less grey than I expected! I still like it. Wonderful tip too about using millwork in semi-gloss for a tone on tone look. Now I’m thinking where I could do that! Your home looks lovely as always!

Thank you for this video! I just "settled" on this paint color after laboring over color for weeks! My lighting is so very different throughout the house and the home we bought also has some painted trim and some wood stained trim. Further, I am bound by some strong colored flooring that was stumping me as well. I have painters at my home this week
and had just committed to soft chamois tonight. After watching your video, I am feeling excited about my paint choice and think I may have landed on the "perfect" choice and don't feel like I'm "settling" at all!!! I can sleep well tonight!

@@JulieBlanner Still so excited this morning about my choice! Thoughts about finishes? Semi gloss more "cleanable"? Using this color in garage entry hallways and kitchen and living areas...Satin is more common in living but since the spaces all run into each other concerned that I should use semi gloss to accommodate keeping high traffic areas clean?
@@raelynlatchaw8846 for garage, bath, kitchen and trim I use semi. For living room I recommend satin. Benjamin Moore is high quality paint so you can clean it when needed.

I want off white everywhere. Don’t want white trim anymore. It’s a small house with a dark living room, a light kitchen/dining area. All pretty much open tho. Don’t want cool but not too dirty white. It’s gotta be ok throughout everything. This is a tough decision…
Paint can definitely be tough! You might enjoy a neutral greige for the trim, which would pair nicely with a neutral / white wall :) Happy painting!

Hi! I got a professional color palette from Jacob Owens Design for my home and chose Benjamin Moore Etiquette for my north facing bedroom and it’s gorgeous and no green, yellow, or blue undertones. It’s perfect!
Hi Julie, what color will you recommend for a red cherry cabinet? I'm not willing to change my cabinet but will like to match a nice color for my wall
To pair with cherry cabinets, I recommend dustier tones with a hint of grey. Repose Gray, Agreeable Gray, dusty blue hues or try Decorator's White.

I haven't tested the two colors side by side, but it would make a lovely color for cabinets. Another to try is having Navajo White made at 25%

hi I painted my partially finished basement walls with this color, looks great with the white ceiling and dove white trim as you recommended ...in one area of the basement thats half unfinished im going to paint a concrete floor...care to recommend a dark color for the floor that will look nice with the soft chamois walls for me?? i was also thinking painting some of the exposed radiators and steam pipes in revere pewter for a little contrast...any thoughts? i'm a guy i never knew there was so much to colors before!!!

This is pretty dark in my home. I'm going to get it at 75 percent intensity.
I also like Dune White by Benjamin Moore.
Dune white flashed very green in my very bright space.
How did the 75% turn out?

I wanted to color match this at my local Home Depot and there were multiple versions of this in their database. Would you please give more information on which Soft Chamois you used in your home? Go to Benjamin Moore for Soft Chamois...other paint formulas can create unexpected undertones

Would it pair well with soft green colors?
Very likely, depending on the undertone of the paint you want to pair it with. As always, I recommend testing to be sure the green has appropriate undertones.
