So glad you pronounced it correctly!!
My master bedroom is in soft chamois and Chantilly lace its so beautiful.
Sounds dreamy!! :)
I love this, your thoughts on Carlisle cream by BM. I wanted something a tad more warm but I do love the really light colors
Love the colour pallet. Could I use this in a kitchen with wood cabinets, medium oak ?
Thanks for the color review. It helped me decide on my off white color.
I will mention that it is pronounced shammy, in case that is helpful.
That's great to hear! Thanks for advising of the proper pronunciation too!
It is not pronounced shammy. The way she pronounced it is correct. Chamois is a French word and the French pronunciation is kept. The same way you pronounce "rendez-vous" the French way and not literally "ren-deez vooss".
I’ve looked at classic gray and ballet white as possible bedroom colours. Soft chamois might be the perfect in between...ie ballet white can go pretty dark in corners. I have a lot of wood post and beam log home with gyproc wall. Birch floors pine ceilings all orangey tones. Do you think Soft Chamois would give a warmer look than other two? Thanks for review!
Great review! People don’t talk much about this color?
Can you do white down and feather down?
Hey Miss Nelly! We already have our next 10 colour reviews lined up, unfortunately they don't include either of those colours. But we will be reviewing a couple of other popular light neutrals from Benjamin Moore. Stay tuned for those and cheers for watching.
I currently have light cherry cabinets that i would like to paint, my trim color is soft chamois, which white would you suggest that would go well with soft chamois, breakfast area wall color is stone hearth?
Take a look at each of the 3 white recommendations I make in this video to coordinate with Soft Chamois for trim/ceilings.
It's pronounced SHAMMY
Hi is this color a good choice for a north facing area?
Hi Linda. As I've mentioned in a previous reply to you (just today) I recommend painting a large board in this colour and moving it around your room to see how it looks at different times of the day. I rarely take into consideration the direction of a room and it's never come back to bite me yet. I ensure the colours I choose will work with all the other design/decor elements in the space.
My living room has paneling 1/3 of the way up the wall. Should I paint it all the same cream color or two different colors? I am very traditional with my style.
If you mean you have a wainscoting, sometimes that can absolutely look great painted a different colour to the walls.
I’m replacing my floors and painting the interior of my house.
What color flooring looks best with Soft Chamois. My living room furniture is a soft gray and there is a white fireplace.
If you are choosing hardwood flooring Nealie, unless it is really orange or red, almost any will work with Soft Chamois. Just be sure to have all your finishes with you when sourcing so you can see how they look together. Good luck!
@@ClaireJeffordConsulting I would love to see some range of floor color matching with some of these paints
@@LoveourLord24 please check out this video on Instagram where I did just that with wood flooring and Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore. :)

Can I paint the wall soft chamois with white dove on the cabinets, and pure white from sherwin William on the ceiling?
Hi Dena. I don't think there is a need to have 3 whites, especially when White Dove and Soft Chamois are both creamy. If you are considering all those whites, my suggestion is to use the same white for the walls as you do for the cabinetry. They will look a little different anyway because of the application where they are being applied.
Chamois is pronounced ‘shammy’ not shamwha….
The way she pronounced it is correct. Chamois is a French word and the French pronunciation is kept. The same way you pronounce "rendez-vous" the French way and not literally "ren-deez vooss". It's only in America that they pronounce "chamois" as "shammy", which makes no sense.
Oh I can’t even take the video seriously with her continuous mispronunciation.
Thanks for your comments and for correcting me on how to pronounce it. 😀
The mispronunciation makes it impossible to listen!
We are in Canada, so we actually pronounce the word like the French do.
It’s pronounced sham-mee if you make a video get it right. 🙄🙄
