• NEW Losi Mini-B Is It ...
I bought one tonight. They race them every Thursday. Low cost, high performance, lots of fun. Great video.
My included batteries were rusted rotten and useless but I already had some fresh ones on hand. The steering and throttle rates I did know know about and this is huge! Thanks! I have the Mini T 2.0 brushless and it's a handful out of the box.
Thanks for the tip on the throttle D/R. Only ran one pack through my mini b and already ordered a brushless system. Will have to give the brushed system another chance before I do the upgrade.
@Bill Perri already went brushless so stock pinion is fine now with current setup. And I'm really not a fan of the stock transmitter.
Bought one for my son and one for me for Christmas. We set up a track in the basement out of some moving boxes and they are a blast. We are planning on getting The Mini-T 2.0 brushless for outside.
Hope Losi comes out with a Mini 4WD buggy soon.
I’ve got this car on order with the yellow color, only your video is the one that shows this dual rate mod. Thanks for showing it. This is going to be a fun indoor house car for me.
Man! When you said J&M Hobby house in San Carlos I have instant flashbacks of my 80's R/C ing. Did I see correctly that they are now closed for good? I have very fond memories of Cliff helping me out once upon a time. Remember buying my first RC plane(Carl Goldberg Eaglet 50), Cox Scorpion race buggy, and a Team Associated RC10 kit. I have been gone from the Bay Area since the 90's, and wish I would have stopped by when I have been out there for work. Thanks for the great video with the Mini B thinking about picking one up.
Losi makes great cars that will be crazy with a brushless setup.
I disagree I own a tlr22 5.0
@@jadenwilliams6330 I have a losi mini t 2.0 brushless with a 7800kv motor its rips.
@@articaldan9519 nice
I have the Mini-T 2.0, brushed version but I put a HobbyWing EZRun + 18T combo in it. These things feel like solid racing machines but I feel like from a product perspective they're a step backwards after the Mini 8IGHT platform. They're pretty much dedicated carpet racers whereas the Mini 8IGHT felt right at home on smaller outdoor tracks and the Mini 8IGHT-T could even do some light-duty bashing.
It's worth it if you have a place to run it. Unfortunately, my Mini-T 2.0 spends most of its time on a shelf.
I put a Castle Mamba micro X with the 8080-8000KV motor in mine. It'll do a standing backflip and pop a wheelie at 3/4 throttle. Awesome!
Top speed?
Very great info on rates, great video!
I got the Mini T a few months back - wonder if the same trick will work. Great video!
Does the throttle truck work with the Mini-T 2.0? I can’t get it to work
This video is so useful! I’m so glad I came across your video! Your dual rate tip is the best, keep up the good content!
Thanks for the throttle tip!!!
question; Does the throttle/ steering rate adjustment also available on MINI-T ??
Cant wait to have these in the shop
Such a great little buggy. Our local indoor carpet off road location will have a whole class of them this weekend
I've just converted it to brushless, just got back in from filming it's test run, glad to say it's not altered the handling much at all, it's now like driving a fast slot car with the slot! I'm hoping to take mine to Norcal hobbies in San Jose with Fog City RC when the track opens up again
So glad I saw your video! Picking up a mini-b and was thinking I'd need to upgrade to brushless right away, but with your throttle dual rate tip I'm sure it'll be plenty fast for my non-racing needs. Cheers - liked and subscribed!
Go dynamite brushless way way faster
I've heard many good reviews on these buggys
Get the losi mini b and slap a brushless system
They are nice and fun cars!
Two thing:
1) Yes, the Losi Mini-B is, most definitely, worth it. Don't have mine, yet, but only because I want the yellow one...plus, I'll be upgrading it to brushless.
2) When you're gonna head over to Nor-Cal, give me a heads-up in advance...either call me, or text me, 1-2 days before, letting me know what time. If I'm back from Vegas, I could bring my GoPro, and help you catch additional camera angles.
Robb I'll call you over the weekend 1) Agreed and I've a pile of bits on the bench to do the same tonight 2) Fog City says the tracks had to close again but when it does the 3 of us should head down there and anyone reading this who has a losi mini-b is free to join us
Dude you need to get a Losi LMT Gravedigger, can't wait for your review, love the vids brah.
The woah moments are a little cheesy. But very informative and loads of detail about the mini-b
I could not get my car to go faster until I took it out and wide open throttled it and hit the dual rate and boom its def faster
Awesome video mate…just bought this for my son… nice watch you’re wearing too what is it? Like the nato strap
will a standard brushless 1/10th scale motor fit in this without modifying?
Nice vid, cool car, these buggies are super popular right now, I think I might have to get one
Awesome video👍
Can u buy these in Canada
Just tested on the mini-t thank God I have a way to slow it down for the 4yr old
Sorry wrong account, I mean
Yes I tested it and it works for the mini-t
Does the dual rate adjustment apply to the Losi mini t brushless edition?
I love to see it go against the Reflex B
The mini scene is experiencing something of a revival at the moment. Especially with these little Losi besuties
Best handling RC I own! Corners like the wheels are glued down.
I just tried playing with the throttle dual rate, and I was able to bump it up just slightly, but it's still really slow. Fortunately, my hobbywing combo should be here this weekend.
I'm finding that I like these cars with small scaled down tracks that I make. I think the car shines on small self made tracks.
@@todd92371 Yeah, I've only tested mine out on my small backyard track. My mini t 2.0 is perfect for it stock out of the box. I still put a brushless system in it, mainly because I don't like the stock transmitter. But the buggy stock still feels a little too slow for my liking on my track.
@@JasonGN2045 I hear you. I really want to upgrade to brushless next. But, need to do alot of research on that. Never done anything like it.
@@JasonGN2045 Today at lunch I made a small track on this small cement pad near a park. Just used cones and stuff and it was a blast. Love these little cars.
This rc car handles so well
Yeah, that would be a good comparison.
I want 1 for that price and. Speed its worth it Bushless would be nicer setup
Great review big dawg.. (like always)....I bought 2 of these for Christmas. One for my 5 year old son and one for my 10 year old brother for them to learn how to drive better at the track. Cant wait for them to open the box.
My kids say there the best rc cars they ever had
5 year old son and 10 year old brother... what?
@@vinnyavalanchethat's sick.. definitely awesome for kids to get into the hobby.
@@alb9022 lol yeah it sounds weird but my mom adopted him when I was like 20 or 21. So he's not too much older than my oldest son.
@@rcjer6473 ahh ok, yea that was weird lol
Cool video!
Mini RCs are so much fun!
Cheers from France.
Thanks!
I once thank you for showing the duel rate for throttle and sterring. You definitely got my subscribe.
Awesome, thank you!
Id pay 150 for that before id pay 150 for a Traxxas bandit lol
@Spyderco Spyderco oh yeah I'd pic associated over everything lol. I race with only associated.
Losi its better than traxxas
@@mitjafonda2203 well yeah lol. 👏 it's better then armma too. Just not associated lol
@@jeffbryner5355 and hpi
@@mitjafonda2203 I have never messed with them but I beat a couple of guy's every weekend who run hpi in the class I race in with my sc6 though. Lol
Thanks for this video. I purchased a couple MINI-Bs that I received this week. I'm leaving one of them stock and the other one I've already started modding. Here's my question: What do you think will be the BEST Brushless build setup? I have a DX5C so I've already decided on my receiver. So it just comes down to 2 in 1 Motor / ESC or split em up? That Dynamite Brushless seems to be the fastest and easiest brushless conversion.
What are your thoughts?
Well...I was thinking that then looking in my motor tin I found a $32 7200kv I'd bought off amazon that should fit, if I find time tomorrow I'll fit it.
CAN u buy these losi in Canada
Troy hopefully someone can answer that or give Horizon a call
Thanks for the rundown? Are you able to use parts from the t2 on these?
You'd have to ask losi
Nobody reads the manual xD
Thanks for the tip on setting throttle D/R!
Wondering if the gymkana hatchback body will fit this the 1/16
Great review👍👍
What did you do to make it quicker?
How you gonna ask and not even watch the video
@@yamkaw346 haha sorry. Skipped that part. Wanted to see that bad boy run. I got it now.
Nice looking to mate
I’m trying to get my first rc and looking into losi. Any recommendations? I don’t have a budget
Losi would be a great first RC as it handles well and being so light the battery gives a good life, however it's not super fast although it feels very fast due to it's small size. Now you mention budget but keep it low to see if you love rc before going wild, if you want a fast car that's a basher then I'd point you towards an arrma granite 4x4 blx, brushless and will do 50mph which is more than enough for a first RC. Or a traxxas stampede, or slash are very good starting points, you can work on them easily they're very tough and you can get lots of hop up parts from other people to make them handle better and go faster. Hope that helps. Most of all I would say think about where you're going to drive the car THEN think about what car to buy
This dude is magical he changed clothes without me even seeing.
2002 called and they want their brushed motor back!!!!
Race with Fog City in the near future!!
Cool looking car
5:46 ima do it tomrkiw
Mine didn't work on the speed dual rate.
does this trick apply to the mini t 2.0
Yes
Does anyone know how fast this thing is?
I am sorry to ask but I am debating on purchasing one if these mini Bs cuz I want to get into the buggy side if the rc hobby I am just unsure on its general runtime is all, if anyone who has one knows or if you yourself knows that would be incredibly helpful thank you ^^
I would say a good 15 mins but depends on how hard you drive it but thy also go a bigger lipo. Great car as it’s so light and handles like a dream
@@DriftomaniacsRC ah i see, what battery upgrade would you recommend? the 800mAh?
That's the one my friend Robb has installed on his, I will try and get some feedback from him on runtime etc
@@DriftomaniacsRC thank you very much ^^
We need a brushless upgrade on this
already done kind sir! - ua-cam.com/video/DqEcEW1UibU/v-deo.html
Looks awesome richie, what scale is that one?
Its 1/16
Yes it is!
Would be nice to see a rtr mini buggy comparison!
awesome rc,great review
nice shirt
Please Losi bring out a Mini SCT
I'm gonna sub and order one of these.
I am looking at getting one of these, but I was deterred because I looked up videos on YT and it seemed really slow. Now I hear you telling me there's a way to make it faster? Nice! Also, how fast do you think it would go with the throttle dual rate tuned to perfection with a 3s lipo and 7200kv brushless motor? Let me know
30-32mph on 2S with a 7200kv as I've just got back in from testing it on 2S as I type this!!! So 3s should see you over 40 even with the stock gearing
@@DriftomaniacsRC Okay. Thanks for being great! 😊
Buy a turbo racing p32 tx you get wider range of settings (turbo racing recently joind a contract w losi for their micro cars esc/rx units and p32 has 15 model memory epa exp abs and dr settings and 4 channels (ch 3 and 4 dont do anything w the 2in1s nut rx41 recievers have 4 ch 1 comes w p32 and theure only like 12 bux each and like the 2in1's qlso waterproof
I think the 144001 is faster, but that new wltoys looks awesome. My guess is slower out of the box, but faster with brushless upgrades
it's a losi not a wltoys
1:02
@@ValFPV Dauntless was talking about the one Richie picked up but didnt show-wltoys 124018
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I want one!!!
If so Iam buying 1
This has dual rates also!!
indeed it does!
Sweet little buggy but I think the new wl toys is faster and cheaper
This is about the handling, it's more race focussed, there's no slop in anything on this car, I love my wltoys cars inc the new 124018 BUT they have a lot of slop in the joints and the steering, speed isn't always everything! And that's true for this car, I get to drive a lot of cars and this handles like a dream, with brushless this would leave most things for dead around a track
Where abouts in the UK are you from and when did you go to live in America? New to the channel so curious about your background. Thanks
Sheffield originally, Been living over here for 8+ years
The Wltoys will blow the mini b away in the weeds 🌬️😂😜
Wltoys is power💪 and the mini b is precision 👍
I have a losi mini 2.0 t brushless with 7800kv motor and blows my wltoys away easily.
Stewie I am wondering about brushless and I was thinking 7200kv rather than the horizon/dynamite 6000kv
Wltoys is pot metal trash lol. You get what you paid for in this hobby, wltoys is proof of that.
@@rcmedia9516 totally agree bro
@@DriftomaniacsRC yes sir a hobbywing 7200 or 7800 kv set up would be better dynamic 6000kv. Alot of my friends with losi mini b and mini t use hobbywing rather than the dynamic 5200kv.
Say “ DUAL RATE”
Juul Rate
So $150 for a 2WD? I paid $160 for two Wltoys 144001 which is 4 wheel drive. Thanks for sharing.
Smokin buggy 🐜 bro 😎 How fast is it tho?
