  • Ready to get into Mini Racing, if so, then you need to take a look at the Losi Mini-B Pro Roller RC Car! Drivers all over have been enjoying the Losi Mini-B RTR as a basher to a racer, but racers were often making changes to the buggy. It appears Losi has been monitoring what the popular options are and have decided to release a roller version of the Mini-B that is built with the a number of great options included and installed from the factory. In this video, Greg will go over what’s different on this buggy and then takes it to the track for some racing. Please note, the radio was playing at the track, so the audio had to be removed from the track action to avoid UA-cam Copyright Violations. But you still get a great idea of how this buggy performs without the original sound. This is a killer deal to build up your own mini buggy racer, get all your details right here!

I don't know what exists for shock limiters, but back in the late 90's when I raced nitro stadium truck, we used to put a short length of fuel tubing over the shock shaft as a stop to keep from grounding the chassis. It worked well enough that I used it as a preferred setup racing 2wd on-road... no springs up front, just riding on fuel tubing... green springs in the rear and the whole truck was stuck to the ground. Might be worth a look if options are slim.

Dude you've got a great channel. And I just got into RC about a year ago and you know what's funny is that RC Madness used to be on route 5 and Enfield and then one day it was just gone. But I wasn't into RC so I thought they closed. Years and years and years later I found myself wanting to get into it and I looked for a local hobby shop and I found that RC madness was still only 10 minutes from my house! Lol I was so happy about it. Went over there and picked up a basher and now I'm like 5 grand into this crap lol.
Most recently just picked up an LC b-12 as my first kit. Going to start running the carpet track soon!

The buggy is stripped out currently so I can weigh it. But I threw random leftover pieces weight behind the motor, under the servo, on top of the servo and had a custom cut brass plate under the battery. For this video it actually has the factory oil, but I typically run F-45wt, R-35wt.

Hello. :) I'm looking for a recommendation for an adult guy (my future son-in-law!) who would like to have an R/C car but who probably isn't going to get into it as a big-time hobby. (Maybe he will, but he's never had one -- always wanted one since his childhood.) I am completely lost with what's a good deal, what's not ... and obviously, since it'd be a first vehicle without knowing if he'd get into it as a hobby, I don't want to break the bank. Thanks for any help -- I truly appreciate it! (He'll probably just be using it outside, if that makes any difference ... not even sure if there are any tracks around here or if he even knows about tracks. Also, he's almost certainly not going to modify it in any way -- perhaps this is not the right stream to ask this in, since you all seem to be advanced! :-) Sorry if it's misplaced!)

If you haven't already got hum something, one of these, RTR would be a cool gift... there are only brushed buggies, and the Mini-T truck there's a faster brushless version... personally, for someone brand new, a brushed Mini-B RTR and a second battery would be where I would start...
Other options, depending on interest and your location, of you have rocks or parks with appropriate terrain, etc... check out videos of RC rock crawlers, there's some mini ones of those too.... not fast, bit run a good while on a charge and may not be as likely to break....

The SX107 servo IS a problem...it's a piece of garbage. That's why it was almost always one of the (if not THE) first things replaced in the Capra - plastic gears, slow, underpowered...and, worst of all, NO 'overload protection'. In other words, it's SUPER easy to "kill".

@@rcdriver The 640T is also what I initially replaced the SX107 with. In the end, I replaced that with a Powerhobby 59MG - slightly slower (0.11sec) & more powerful (80oz/in) at 6V, and equally fast & even more powerful (95oz/in) at 7.4V (the 640T maxes out at 6V). Plus, it's slightly heavier (20g vs 13g) then the 640T, giving the front a little extra weight, helping to bring the Mini-B closer to a 50/50 front/rear balance. I should mention that I've also replaced both shock towers with carbon fiber shock towers (stronger & less flex than the stock towers, plus helps to lower the vehicle's CoG).
