I love these real-time, unpolished video tutorials as they present the trials and tribulations of exploring the features of the drone's hardware and software. It is a million miles from the glamour shown in DJI's promotional videos, but it works hand-in-glove with them. It's exactly what I want to see!
Just got my Mavic 2 , 3 weeks ago , now absorbing hours of UA-cam postings, this is a great job buddy on vehicle Active Track ! Ty sir ... 🙏 (so new Sub 51.3K batch )
Great video, thank you so much. I actually like it in spotlight when you sped up and it is got behind you and sorta panned and showed more of where you where you were going...Cna't wait to try this tomorrow day 3 ...
Thank you so much for these videos,I've had my mavic for a few months now and haven't got into any of the special options mostly because I am clueless at what they do so thank you.And you explain things very well by the way. I was mostly impressed by the profile mode and how it was able to keep up filming the side of your truck while I'm assuming flying sideways,I was surprised it was able to keep up. Anyway thanks again and GREAT JOB.
Nice... when you go up to 30 miles an hour in profile @6:30 mark. that shot actually looks amazing with the gimbal tilt... that'd be a very hard shot to do , without that.. . love this.. thanks.
Hi Dylan, great video, as things change like the screens on the controllers, would you be able to find time to to an updated video as this one is about a year old now and the screens have changed. Thanks again, good job!!
Very good video Dylan - thanks!!! I ride motorcycle all over the world and am going to buy one of these DJI drones to make some great footage.... thanks for posting!!!
I love the video, Dylan. These are such great shots and it was really fun to watch. Especially where the cows walked up to you. I'm a city boy, so that really grabbed me. Your probably used to it being in the farming country, but just the whole area is so open and relaxed. I couldn't help but think how you don't have to "just" use areal shots in an all areal video. I've been shooting hand held ground video for years, before I got my first drone a few years ago. I finally bought a crane which raises up the camera for more of a low drone type shot, but your limited to the length of your crane. Now with drones, you not only get most of the crane type shots, but you can get this surround the subject thing, higher altitude, follow mode. Man, how can any serious shooter resist those shots. Heck you don't even have to be serious, you just have to have a drone and some practice. Of course you can still shoot an all areal shot video with a drone, but the beauty is you can also edit some areal shots in with your regular hand held shots too. With the amazing ability of software editing, you can put it all together any way you want, without breaking the bank. Marc.
waiting to receive my mavic pro and trying to learn how to use it. your tutorials are very well done. learning from you will surely help. this is going to be exciting. thanks for your efforts
Nice job...! Very helpful. If I would have filmed that with my Mavic Pro the footage would have been glitchy, choppy, skipping frames, etc. (not sure why). Thanks for taking the time to put the video together. You earned my sub.
thanks for taking the time and make this video Dylan! I'm going to try it out, have you tried it with tracking people, in a semi crowed area? Just got mine Mavic few days ago.
Good job Dylan, I’m watching different tutorials on drone flying of Maverick Pro and Phantom Pro and hope to find a used one for sale to learn with. I bought two knockoffs of the Maverick Pro and Phantom Pro years ago but they where not worth the money so this time I want the real deal but used in case I mess up and it free falls without a parachute 😂 The only think I wish you did in while driving was to make a turn down a road at 10mph in follow mode to see how well it could follow a sudden turn? But I guess that’s something I’ll find out on my own?
Great video Dylan. Not sure if you can help me here but something that really bugs me about the active track mode is that my settings do not stay in manual. It reverts to AUTO and the white balance keeps changing which looks terrible, particularly when filming on the beach. Is it possible to active track with manual settings?
Good video man You make good UA-cam video music, tutorials , and dual cams going at once while driving and maintaining focus Tough I appreciate the effort and fine job I must say
Liked the video,..learning my Mavic Pro, I provide photo services to auto dealers. Getting more into video and drone shoots..want to learn all I can to help them present their inventory in the best light possible online.
Thanks for the vid. I'm about to take this mavic into the moutains/canyons and shoot my Z06 at speed....we shall see! I think if I can hover it out over the edge in a switchback and spot light mode it could be real cool. Active track gonna struggle because of trees though. I wish they'd allow an active track connection to the controller so it didn't need to physically see so well.
Thanks for the awesome video tutorial Dylan!! I have a question; While in the Active Track modes will recording automatically turn on when you hit GO? Thanks again for the awesome video. Ray 👍😊
Hi...nice Video... But...i have some questions... Because of in Greece we have metric system... Can you tell me... The altutude of done in meters... The speed of car in km.. because the gear bo is manual andi I have to change gears And... Tell me the home point in drone is the point of take of or follow ontroller Thank you...
Question for you , do camera settings load in camera or app, meaning when I fly while using my phone, then switch to ipad, will mavic use settings ( record video) from iphone or ipad ( if they are different..?)..Thanx
Another great video from Dylan. His videos taught me how to fly my Mavic. 8-) One thought... I would be concerned that having the controller inside the metal car would limit the range pretty seriously at some angles. But this video proves it is feasible at pretty impressive distances.
I know this would be hard to test in Oklahoma but do you know if the drone will adjust elevation if the vehicle goes up hills? I am thinking of tracking my Jeep when doing trails in the Colorado mountains. Great tutorials! I am a new sub and glad I found your channel.
Thanks Dynlan for your great demo. My question is, how do you get those speeds. I am using the latest firmware, it only allows a max speed priority of 15 Kph (
I learned a lot on this video. thanks man. some of the stuff you did here is perfect for what I was trying to add to some of my youtube video's. I kinda suck at filming things but the drone shots look nice. definitely investing in one soon.
HI Dylan, love your tutorials! May I ask what happens when you're in trace mode, and you decide to make a left or right turn... would the drone still tail behind you after the turn? or switch to profile mode and fly sideways?
Yah, I can't wait to find a location to try this with my motor home! I'll have someone driving it, while I pilot the Mavic. Thanks for the tutorials! PS; that shot needs to be in your Best Ofs.
Great video, I'm thinking about getting one. I want to video some of my motorcycle trips. What editor do you use and could I also is a GoPro also and put together a video of the drone and video from the GoPro that will be on my bike?

Thanks for the cogent summary of all the different vehicle modes! It was handy to have them all visually demoed!
The obstacle avoidance is enabled during active track. It is only disabled while circling
Dude, thanks for just being yourself. Your videos let anyone know they can do this.
Great video, thank you so much. I actually like it in spotlight when you sped up and it is got behind you and sorta panned and showed more of where you where you were going...Cna't wait to try this tomorrow day 3 ...
I wish I found this video earlier as I was struggling to get the drone to follow my car. Now the modes make perfect sense!
Thank you for the taking the time to teach us. One of the best tutorials i've seen.
Thank you so much for these videos,I've had my mavic for a few months now and haven't got into any of the special options mostly because I am clueless at what they do so thank you.And you explain things very well by the way. I appreciate the time and effort you put into editing your videos. I enjoy watching them!
GREAT Tutorial.
thaks from Sydney, Australia.
And the footage ccame out great too, lesson learned: drve slow.
Nicely done. Now, I will try this at home.
Thanks. Just did my first flight, and first video. I am learning a lot from your videos.

Thank you. Great Demo.
Another great video. Thank you Dylan. I appreciate you taking the time to make them as I get so much out of them.
love your instruction videos, i got my mavic last weekend and been watching you nonstop.
Man, that makes my day to know that the videos are helping people out! Thanks for the kind words!
Great video to show the tracking modes in a real life scenario!
thanks Dylan I really needed this the check the advisable height
Very cool. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am going to do this with my boat. Hope to not lose the drone!

Very well done Dylan! Very easy to understand and very well done, thank you! Please keep up your great videos!
Thanks Dylan. Your video helped me a lot with the active track 3 modes.
waiting to receive my mavic pro and trying to learn how to use it. your tutorials are very well done. learning from you will surely help. this is going to be exciting. thanks for your efforts
Well done, Dylan. Your demonstrations and discussion made it very clear what happens and how each mode might be used. Kudos!
Thanks for the kind words Dennis!
Thanks for sharing this Dylan, I'll definitely try this as soon as possible with my new Mavic Pro!
Thanks for doing these videos. I've watched a lot of your stuff trying to figure out the Mavic.
Dylan, Excellent job on a tricky subject 👍 Bob
Thanks for a simple real life sample of that. Appreciated.
Another great video , easy to follow , will be giving that ago , Cheers Pete Western Australia
Great video. I like the real time format.
Very elaborating explanation ! Thank you
Great job Dylan, very informative! How did you record the DJI4 display?
That was awesome Dylan ! Great job !
Thanks for your time put in doing this 👍
Nice job...! Very helpful. If I would have filmed that with my Mavic Pro the footage would have been glitchy, choppy, skipping frames, etc. (not sure why).

Awesome Breakdown Video. Much appreciated bro.
Great stuff Dylan...maybe take a little longer on the button pushes to illustrate what your'e doing. Thx!!
Good vid Dillon 👌 you helped me out big time!
hey man, great video so helpful. what beautiful farm there,
great demo! Im going to try these flight modes vehicle edition!!!
I loved the previous video and this one as well.
Question: How did you edit these videos? I liked the change at the snapping of your fingers.
very informative.... well done have better understanding how it works...do you know if active track works good on water tracking a boat.
These are the best and easiest follow.... thankyou
Great viudeo Dlylan. Thanks
Great video and explanation. I would have been complaining it didn't work if I had not seen this.
NIce one Dylan. Thanks for making this video I will try it tomorrow.
Thank you, Dylan, actually you saved me a lot of time trying these modes. man, you are talented.
Great tutorial Dylan, keep up the good work.

Good video man
You make good UA-cam video music, tutorials , and dual cams going at once while driving and maintaining focus
Tough
I appreciate the effort and fine job I must say
loved this. thank you
Great video. Is that as near as the drone can flim your car? it would be great to get movie style close up shots, is that not possible with drones?
Great job! Appreciate the effort and share!
This video was super helpful for me. Thanks!
Great video, so helpful! Thank you, Dylan! 🙌
Thanks for watching!

Thanks man. well done Dylan :)
nicely exampled Dylan I was looking to experiment with modes and now I know roughly how to start, cheers man now go feed the cows

Thanks from the UK
3:34 the way he showed us the shot, not knowing we already seeing 20 times clearer lol😂
Thanks for the awesome video tutorial Dylan!! I have a question; While in the Active Track modes will recording automatically turn on when you hit GO? Thanks again for the awesome video. Ray 👍😊

The cows were funny 😂
Curious crowd of cows.
The cows were like now thats technology fellas
“Mooooo?”
Thanks so much Dylan, super helpful tutorial!
Envy you all that space and no people 😊
cheers
It’s just the best! Love living in Oklahoma!
Actually, the footage gets "cinematic" when you speed it up at 30 miles/h. Very nice!
Thanks Dynlan for your great demo. My question is, how do you get those speeds. I am using the latest firmware, it only allows a max speed priority of 15 Kph (
Very insightful. Thank you for the good tutorial!
Thank you for the kind words!
@@deeyung WOW
it worked grreat in this video
it tracked so well. wow !!
Excellent. Great job.
love your accent btw! it reminds me of the deputy in dukes of hazard
Lol! Never heard that before, too funny
I learned a lot on this video. thanks man. some of the stuff you did here is perfect for what I was trying to add to some of my youtube video's. I kinda suck at filming things but the drone shots look nice. definitely investing in one soon.
Fantastic tutorial
HI Dylan, love your tutorials! May I ask what happens when you're in trace mode, and you decide to make a left or right turn... would the drone still tail behind you after the turn? or switch to profile mode and fly sideways?
Thanks a lot, very helpful stuff!! 🙏🏾😄
Tahnks 4 your tutorial👍👍
Great job bud. I love quads and farms ! Liked and subscribed.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
At 100% when the drone lost you, that was a perfect clip ending and I love to learn to recreate purposely. Thanks for that
Great job. This is how instructional video should be done. keep it up! thanks
awesome video thank you
Holy cow thanks i didn't know that's what spotlight does :) i will test this with my rc boat at the lake
Thanks for the Active Track tutorial.
Nicely done - thanks!
beautiful video. Thanks man
The tech is amazing on these drones!
Actually, I kind of liked in Profile when you sped up and the gimbal transitioned to pan up to horizon...cool!
I went and watched that part after I read your comment. You are right, looks very cool and cinematic!
Yah, I can't wait to find a location to try this with my motor home!
I'll have someone driving it, while I pilot the Mavic.
Thanks for the tutorials!
PS; that shot needs to be in your Best Ofs.
Man, that'll be really cool!
Question: In Active Track mode will the Mavic lead the subject looking back and flying backwards?
I imagine quite slowly it will?
Thanks!
Dave
I think the coolest shots are the ones where you can actually see the horizon, what mode would you use for an oncoming shot?
Great video, I'm thinking about getting one. I want to video some of my motorcycle trips. What editor do you use and could I also is a GoPro also and put together a video of the drone and video from the GoPro that will be on my bike?
great video. thank you so much.
