  • We recently released a Mavic Full Instruction video that was paid content. First time we had tried something like that just as an experiment. We want to thank all those who participated in that contribution. We are now making it available for free, and in the future if we decide to do another paid content video we will make it available for free after a 2-3 months. Think of it as a sneak preview as paid content and be able to see it first.

    Going through all these choices on checklist makes one feel like they are performing checklist for 747. The amount of thought and engineering DJI puts into Mavic Pro and it’s other advanced devices and their software is astounding.
    You do excellent job of covering all points without glossing over.
    Thank you much!!!

    Finally somebody made a video that you can actually learn from instead of rambling endlessly into a fixed camera and no cut aways. This video is way way ahead of the rest.

    I'm a very new inexperienced Mavic owner from England. This presentation is awesome! There is so much to learn! Driving oil rig supply boats with 3 main engines and a bow thruster in the 70s was a walk in the park compared with my new toy!

    I doubt I am the only one who has watched a hundred videos on the Mavic, but this was by far the best I have seen. I really learned a lot, I wish I'd seen it earlier...before a crash in the trees..from not reading the manual. Thanks for all the info.

    Im an old RC fixed and rotary wing pilot from way back but stopped when I gained my private pilots licence a few years back. I saw drones come through as the new technology but they never interested me. Then a mate purchased a Mavic Pro and showed it / demo'd it for me. I bought one that night with the combo pack! I am pretty inexperienced with the Mavic Pro and any drone for that matter so this and your other video's have been gold for me. Thankyou very much for your efforts and sharing your knowledge. P.S. What a machine!

    fast forward to April 2021 buying a used Mavic Pro this is what I really needed to see. With quad copters and Video shooting I am greener than grass in the spring before it sprouts.
    This was by far the most useful tutorial to date with 4 days full time reading on how and what not to do with this air born tool. Thanks so much.

    TVS Pro: This video is absolutely the BEST overall video I have watched on the Mavic Pro. I got my Mavic about 2 weeks ago and I've probably watched at least 60-100 videos. Some good, some poor but this one is basically as good as the manual.
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all Mavic pilots and especially myself. Looking forward to more GREAT videos from you.

    Having the Mavic Pro is so much fun. You don't only get to fly and take videos you also get to know the inner workings of the drone which is also part of the fun. The Mavic is such a technological wonder that all the little calibrations and underworking of this drone and how you have to be involved with its understanding is so much part of the fun. I never had so much fun since I found out how much fun it was looking for unknowns in an algebraic equation.

      Didn’t get a bloody manual. I guess I have to print my own; for $1200.00 I sort of thought they might have included one....they being just a bit richer than I will ever be. Also didn’t include one of the cords. When contacted, they informed me that they don’t make mistakes. So, there is that...

    • @Vstromma
      @Vstromma 6 років тому +1

      I didn't get one of the cords, too. As for manuals, I always read the manuals, but this one was waaaayyy too tiny. Yeah, I found in online, but I was in a rural area, and couldn't get it downloaded. It was a bummer trying to learn this stuff.

    Excellent video! I stumbled across just looking up a little more detail on some of the controls for the Mav Pro and found this. This is as good as anything out there on learning the Mavic Pro - and in a few ways better. Your detail was just enough to outline settings without too much detail to lose the audience. Yes it's lengthy, but well worth the time. Great job and thanks, very helpful for folks getting started.

I've had my mavic three weeks and watched mavic videos for two months before I received it and never saw any videos on those options. Smart return to Home is also not the precision landing, that is on another menu. Smart return to Home tells you to return to home when the aircraft has the amount of battery it needs to come back. If you fly a thousand feet away, smart return to Home might prompt you to come back when your battery is at 60% for example. You can check the amount of time you have before you need to return home in that colored bar under the top menu. Also, to use the precision landing, you must auto take off. In that auto takeoff menu, check precision landing.

    Smart return to home is not the precision landing. Let's say you fly a thousand feet away. The mavic knows how much battery it will take to get back home and will warn you when that battery level is reached, even if it is for example 60%. This is a really good tool and I really recommend it.

    An excellent presentation. You explained, in detail, each function. I am going to watch it a few times to absorb it all in. The one thing I wish you had is an indicator, arrow, yellow circle, to what you were pointing to when you were explaining it. Tell me the others that you wrote; anxious to view.

    Just bought a second hand Mavic Pro + fly more kit for less then $400 incl shipping. Batteries where recharged about 15 times each. So far it's a great buy. The money I saved I put in a editing program for Hyperlaps and the other post editing stuff I might need.

    Best instructional video to date I've seen on the Mavic. Thank you. Question: On my Macbook Pro I can't find the Applications support folder to drop the files into. Any ideas? I've downloaded and installed the free version of DR. Thanks.

    Dude great great tutorial.
    U covered alot super appreciate this. This helps me alot as an amateur film maker./Ariel photographer.
    Super helpful thanks alot brother.
    Good stuff right here....
    I haven't purchased any Mavic line of Drones yet but I think I'll start with a magic mini to get my feet wet with the mavic line.
    Then eventually get a mavic pro.
    Or maybe a zoom for cinematic effects I may need for the client.

      dont go mini I would bite the bullet and get the Mavic pro 2. The mini has suboptimal range and the pro is just a little dated. if you plan on getting both you really should just get the bigger better.

    I was confused abut that linking button. I didn't know where the message was sending me. Guess I just found the button... lol. Was lost on that pause button as well. Couldn't figure out what it paused. Took me a few days to watch this video from beginning to end. A lot to take in for an amateur so I had to bite in small pieces so I could chew without choking, watched some other videos between, practised some menu/function setting and flying then watch some sections of this again. Now that I've taken time to practise in between I'll be watching this video again from the beginning with a bit more understanding. Learnt a lot.

    Great video. I like that you emphasized, that you have to have a clear view on the drone. Most of sellers just say you can fly up to 7 km distance.

    • @Tvspecialists
      @Tvspecialists  7 років тому +1

      Of course! Line of sight, always important! We might add that FAA laws prohibits drone use outside of line of sight, within the US anyways. Fly safe!

    57:30 You said AGL stood for air to ground level, which is incorrect. AGL stands for ABOVE GROUND LEVEL.
    You did share a LOT of good info and I know I’m going to have to watch this video several times through to get everything. 👍👍
    I’ve been a real world Private Pilot for 50 years this summer, but I’m rather new to flying drones. Thanks again for posting!!
