    Eric, probably the best lesson I've watched in many many videos. You combined 4 or 5 lessons into 1. Looks simple but challenging. I have always relied in the centrifugal force to extend the arms straight, but that did not cure the chicken wings, hence the body rotation. Great lesson to practice without hitting balls. Thank you for your service to our golf community ❤

    Man this is the best tip I’ve ever received! I’ve been playing for about 15 months now and could not keep the ball from going hard left. This tip has given me 10 mph more ball speed and straight balls now! Really appreciate it Eric!

    Great advice Eric! When I discuss ideas about the golf swing I sometimes mention your name. I wish I went out to play golf ⛳️ today but I’m a little conflicted about priorities. I’ve run 14 marathons and 30 scored half marathons. So I want to get back some of my running form. My last marathon was 2013. Just after the Boston marathon bombing.
    I put together your advice about the follow through with Scotty Schleflers swing and realized that the right arm is essentially important to finish the rotation in the follow through. This way I can strike the ball consistently every time. Tom Kites book about being a consistent golfer.

    At the NY Golf Center yesterday, while I was trying out a ping hybrid #3 the fellow said that I was trying too hard. I said that I hadn’t swung the golf club for about three weeks. I think my over trying was my need to exercise my golf muscles. I need the muscle tone that goes with swinging the club a thousand times.

    Eric though you are not mentioning it, the only way for this action to take place ,is to roll to the outside of the left foot.
    Though Scotty makes us fear for the instability in the swing with his foot work. The dangling loose end(his right foot) is at the very end of the swing. He may be simply celebrating his joy in his swing with his right foot!

    Eric, sometimes when I do the arms straight I get too rigid. Is that something to be careful of? Is it possible to keep your arms straight and also remain tension free?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 місяці тому

      Hey! I would say when focusing on arm extension that TENSION is OK....maybe even necessary. To straighten the arm fully you have to flex the tricep.....tension follows.
      Thats OK. Get them straight first and can figure out the tension/relaxed after.

    Hi Eric does this link into the Malaska move regarding the L to L which I know you have done with him?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 місяці тому

      Hey Val!
      So the difference between this and the "L" would be the rehanging of the wrists at this point.
      I would be totally OK with that.
      Of course the wrists need to re hinge
      Is the WHEN and HOW that really matters.
      If you watch closely of the slow mo's of the best players its easy to see :)

    Help. I often see that hold off finish with irons but not with longer clubs. Why, what is the purpose?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 місяці тому +1

      I would say this is best to train with shorter clubs with more loft......as the clubs get longer, faster swings and less loft its more difficult.
      Same reason when you workout you start with lighter weight and work up. You dont walk in and start with 400lbs on the bar :)
      Of course with longer clubs you still want to swing THROUGH the arms straight.....eventually obviously they will fold up and have club behind your neck
      I like training with 8 iron

    My problem is I watch all these videos (not just his) then I have all these swing thoughts in my head and it's too hard to do them all within the split second in the swing. And these guys doing the videos know this and know that's why we keep watching lol. U think oh it's only keep ur arms straight pal chill out. OK add that to keep ur weight 60/40, turn this way with ur head, keep ur trail elbow close to ur body, swing with ur shoulders not ur hands, keep ur hands behind u on the backswing, rotate ur hips don't just bump them, I can keep going on and on. Imagine trying to think of all that within a quarter of a second in a swing. I'm not saying he's said all these but this is why u should get lessons. They teach u one thing at a time until it's natural, u don't have to think about it anymore. First thing my trainer told me was to stop watching youtube videos 😂. I still watch them 😅😅 i understand everyone cant afford lessons and I'm not saying don't watch videos like this but the best thing I can tell u is don't watch a bunch of videos and try to do everything at once. Don't try to get better over night. Start with a video on the takeaway. Do that for hours a day and days a week for a month. Get that part right. Then go from there. Get one tiny part of the swing right where u don't have to think about it in the millisecond of ur swing before u try a different swing thought. That's where I messed up I kept watching all these videos (not just his) thinking I could do it all in one day. It's not possible. Too many thoughts to work on in a split second swing. Hope this saves someone a year of pain 😂

    Without a clear understanding of long arc follow through, my understanding was essentially confused about the last detail of the golf swing. This confusion made the strike of the ball a serious game of chance. I was hoping for a good strike of the ball without establishing a greater confidence about the strike.
    All kinds of subtle miss hits occur, without the stability of your shared understanding.
    The universe is filled with God’s perfect circles. We are but humble admirers of what we see and will never understand. Like the eternal source of energy the sun experiences. It warms the universe for billions of years it’s pure nuclear energy with no toxic waste that would destroy life on earth. They say that some day , billions of years from now the sun will expand and consume all the planets revolving around it. Then our junk will be gone.
