Yes! This maybe the best golf video on UA-cam. Great explanation of the causes/issues. Anyone who can do this can be a good ball striker. Rotation/compression/extension instead of arms only. Also improves straight hitting and quieter arms/hands. Exactly what I need to show my arms only/chicken wing golf buddy. Five thumbs up!
GREAT VIDEO!!! Side bend, YES, while not allowing your head to shift towards the target. To get a full arm extension, thinking about swinging your hands towards the target won't work. Thinking about keeping your head far from the target during the late downswing and follow through works much better.
My dad has threatened me with taking my iphone away if I watch another UA-cam video, except if that video is made by you. thanks. one thing, is this included in one of your performance golf videos that he signed me up for, I have the app! Thanks Eric (Parmigiano.)
HAha appreciate that :) Thanks for being here with us....I'm not sure if this topic in particular is on there but I definitely have a lot on there in general! Hope you are well! -Eric
Agreed.... probably one of the best tips ever. Problem is for most golfers is they are not flexible enough to keep the arm straight in backswing..... SO STOP EATING GARBGE PEOPLE!!!
Shoulder down arms straight hips tucked 6 of the 10 stack and tilt rules looks great as usual Eric thank you in fact absolutely beautiful swing à la Tommy
A feel that I was using earlier in practice was to throw my arms in the downswing and through the ball. It almost feels out of control, but the ball-striking was great. It helped me to not try to control the clubhead into the ball which produces thin & cuffed shots. I also feel for the straight arm extension in the follow through by holding tilt and pushing my arms and club forward and holding it there for a few seconds.
I have spent thousands of dollars on golf lessons - just wish I could’ve given the lot to you - (you are simply the best) unfortunately I just don’t live close enough for 1-2-1 lessons
You would feel like your arms are straight past the ball with all clubs for sure but in terms of the drill I would practice with something like an 8 iron here!
@@PerformanceGolfZone I'd like to be able to consistently hit good, controllable golf shots. I've always been athletically capable, but playing good golf hasn't happened for me.
Hey Mark! In practice yes....of course we need to learn to finish the swing from there. But honestly in practice I would stick to an iron with this. With driver main differences would be setup (ball more forward and more tilt) and in downswing the head/torso stays more back
Eric. You had a teacher on a few years ago who said he could guess handicap based on the amount of extension in follow thru. Do you by chance remember that one please !?
Hey Robert Yes for sure!! That was with Marty Nowicki here: ua-cam.com/video/4hQUfHMgrTk/v-deo.html&pp=ygUjRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGFybXMgc3RyYWlnaHQgaGFuZGljYXA%3D
Really, Eric, it is a great video; however, the straight arms concept is not easy to realize. Check, e.g., your full swing at about 11:10 minutes of the video. In case you manage to stop the video (I needed several trials) when your right arm is horizontal and straight after the impact (at the impact, the right arm certainly should not be straight!), then you will easily see that your left arm is already pretty much bent. Nevertheless, congratulation for your excellent teaching!
Love this tip Eric. Question: is it more important to have the arms connected (elbows together) in the backswing or the downswing? Please don't say both, as my 50 yr old body cannot do both!
Hi Eric, I’m a 67 year young woman, with too many ailments to list. But I’ve recently had a lesson here in the uk, where he got me to keep my left arm as straight as possible in the back swing, this morning having watched this video last night, I combined it with what my coach has started with me, and I couldn’t believe I hit my 8 iron 120 yard carry, and the strike I’m getting most of the time is unbelievably crisp. It’s made me love the game again.
Hi Eric; I've taken lessons occasionally over the years & none of the pros I took lessons from ever noticed my chicken wing so I lost a lot of time without improving & this is why. Needless to say, I'm less than pleased. My swing always felt like I was too short after impact but I never saw it on video so I didn't know why. 🤬

Thanks for the kind words and support!
it's me. i'm the chicken wing golfer :(
Eric this lesson is worth a lot of money, so well done
You got it :)
One of the best vids and pointers I’ve seen from this channel. It’s all true, the best strikers all have this in common.
Thanks Randal!!

Love this drill Eric ..probably the best drill I have ever seem..thanks ..big help for me!
Glad to hear that Edward----hope it serves you well!
This has been the best drill for ball striking I’ve used. Focusing on the 3 different feels is simple and repeatable. Thank you for the video!
Love it Chase! Our pleasure

This is exactly my issue (well one of them lol). Thanks for posting and I'll give it a try to get it into my swing.
Hope it helps ya!

Good video! Very helpful.

is this drill valid for the driver swing too? Amazing video thanks Eric

You're a great teacher... Do you offer a training program? If so, I'd much appreciate signing up.
Thanks Kevin--appreciate that! For sure---what sort of training program are you looking for?

Great lesson.

Thanks Eric!!!!!

So good!
Thank you sir!

Hey Eric, does that apply to hitting a driver as well?

can you use this for the driver too?
Hey! you CAN.....but some key details with it with driver here:

@PerformanceGolfZone Your welcome Eric and thanks for all your help! ⛳️🏌♂️

Hey Richard! Downswing for sure
Is this is single plane swing?
Hey! I wouldn't say single plane...but always a good idea to stay at close to original swing plane as possible for most!
If i hit 25 balls a day just with this drill how long to see improvement ?
% points better every day/week.....
Should be better right away.....a lot better after 30 days and miles better after 90

You cheating on your own channel, Eric? :-). Another great tutorial. I love the way you describe all these valuable tidbits. You are an awesome coach!

@@PerformanceGolfZone Already has. Thanks!
Oh i see. After i hit the ball i should do some stuff. I thought maybe before and during impact were important. Smh.
:)
Did you really tee it up lol
Yep (so we can keep ball in same place for camera setup :) )
