Holy crap what a great video. This should be mandatory for everyone looking to decide between G2C and GX4. So glad I took the whole thing in. Also liked the holster section which is critical on these CC models
lol. I'd be surprised if people were still buying the G2/G3 models with the GX4 being available. Not sure if there are enough pros to make up for the cons. (They're not bad guns in any way. I just don't think they compare to the GX4).
I've had the G2C for 2.5 years as my daily carry. Been a good gun. I've been thinking about getting something a bit smaller. I'd definitely consider staying with Taurus. Been looking at Sig, but Taurus is worth saving $150+. Thanks for the review!
The G2c is a fantastic pistol. I love the size being slightly smaller than G19. But even then it is a little heavy and thick for continuous IWB carry for me. My back is so sensitive to weight. The GX4 gave enough of a step down for me to be able to carry it comfortably for extended periods. The G2c still has my favorite grip out of all the Taurus G guns.
@@BazonBlades I was going to mention the grip. It's one of the best I've personally held. I've also got a Glock 45, and the Taurus grip is much better imo. You mentioned keep tinkering triggers, which specific one did you get, or does it matter?

Great Video Baz... I have a G2c and G2s and bought a GX4 back about 6 months ago, I find myself carrying the GX4 practically everywhere, a buddy of mine has the original version of the Sig365, the GX4 is right on the money with size comparison to the Sig, but of course for less money. Actually he liked the trigger on the Gx4 better than his Sig. I'll still end up carrying my G2c/s models, but for now the x4 just about disappears, so I find myself grabbing that heading out the door.
Congratulations on getting Constitutional Carry. Indiana's moving up to the big leagues of freedom. I really like the GX4. It fits my hand perfectly using the Lakeline pinky rest base plates. My example has been perfect so far. It's even a good looking pistol.
Thank you Baz for taking the time to make this video! Everything you said was spot on. I have held both, and compared them. In stock form, they are 1/2” different on slide length and overall height. I love the feel of GX4 in hand. However, I like knowing I can get a consistent purchase during the draw with my G2C. That was an issue I had with my Ruger EC9S I had previously. I obviously wouldn’t know if the GX4 would have any issues until I try carrying one. One thing I will say, there’s a big difference how the gun feels on your waist when you’re carrying at 3-4 o’clock as opposed to appendix carry. I carry at about 4 o’clock and it’s been comfortable for me. However, it was harder with the smaller grip size. With that said, I’ve been trying AIWB and well, I’m not sure the tactical muffin top is going to allow it. I think for the time being, I’m going to stay with my G2C because of the slightly larger grip, the changes that I made, and the fact I can put a light on it. I’m going to be trying a Bravo Concealment Torsion holster to see if I can get more comfortable.
@@EmbraceTheSuck, your Ruger EC9s definitely has a smaller and much thinner grip. I had a LC9s Pro and that was a major complaint. I ran the pinky extension floor plates which gave me a full grip. But it was still really thin. It's hard to go wrong with the G2c. It's the perfect size for what it is. And IMO the G2c grip is way better that the G3. The full size G3 has a totally different undercut for the beaver tail. It's not as deep as the G2c. I actually get slide bite off the G3 if I grip it too high.
I love the safety talk for the safety sally's that I guess think you can shoot them via video. I have a G2C and a GX4 Micro carry. Love them both, both are very accurate and dependable.
I absolutely demand safety when firearms are involved. But some of the interzone safety crazies are literally just that....crazy. I actually had someone send me an email bitching because I had a loaded magazine on the table while talking about a disassembled firearm. They said I should have taken the loaded mag to a different room. Hell, the firearm was field stripped. People are crazy.
What you explained about where the hight difference is explains why the GX4 Carry is being described as not having much barrel flip. The barrel is closer to your grip.
Exactly...That low bore height in relationship to the grip area is a huge plus for the GX4. And it is noticeable when shooting. 100% of the experienced shooters who have shot my personal GX4 have remarked that it shot flatter than they expected for its size/weight.
I love all 6 of my Taurus pistols and my G2C is my primary EDC but I am thinking about getting a GX4 to add to my collection. Thanks for the information and have a great evening 😊.
If you are able, carry your G2c when you check out the GX4. I won't take anything away from the G2c, I love that pistol. But the GX4 is a real step up for Taurus in the semi-auto arena. I see real, notable improvements in fit/finish and tolerance allowances. I would imagine that numerous manufacturing processes were revamped and/or improved with the introduction of the GX4. It's a direction from Taurus that I very much appreciate as an end user. It just feels like a better made firearm. Tighter, smoother and "higher endier" if you get what I'm saying.
I've carried a Taurus 709s in a Desantis iwb and loved it for many years. My brother got a GX4 and WOW I was really impressed! I've shot a Sig365 and I believe the Taurus has a better trigger. I was definitely more accurate with it. I'll be adding one soon
I couldn't tell you how many times I have caught myself thinking about buying a P365. But I just can't pull the trigger, so to say. I just like the GX4 better. And my example is getting close to 1k trouble free rounds through it. I honestly don't know what the P365 offers over the GX4, except for resale value.

@Baz on Blades Watching your video again. My KT trigger and spring came in, took my time and watched KT video as I went. The ball bearing did roll out, the spring jumped a foot, the trigger spring was harsh looping at that trigger pin. But I got it on and the G2c 40 is fantastic. I got a Gx4 also and really like the trigger feel but I say it's one hard pull. Enjoying this video again too.
I've heard the XL is having some teething issues. I think either feed or extract. Probably spring pressure a little light. I would wait till that gets ironed out. But I really like the longer barrel and sight radius.
