This is indicative of being a part of the golden era of guns! A "budget" gun was able to compete with a legendary manufacture like Sig for half the money. What a beautiful time to be a gun enthusiast!

If Taurus or Kel-Tec or Hi-Point or some other "budget gun" had the problems that the 365 had, people would be trashing them on every video review or forum. But ohhh because it's Sig, they get a pass. It's funny how gun snobbery works

      @robertemanuel7664 5 років тому +14

QUITE true! And the most incredible thing about the 365 is that it now carries this image people always thought was typical of these "budget guns." And with 3 recalls so far by Sig, $600 is quite a crapshoot! One can Google ANY brand out there -including the sacred cow Glock- and punch in "problems" after the brand, and find a lot of pissed-off people. Sure - some problems are NOT problems with the gun but with the shooter, ammo, position. But I've seen a few Rolls-Royces on flatbeds going to the shop in my life, so ANYthing is subject to problems.

I really liked the size of the P365 for a Summertime appendix carry, but with each rerelease where they didn’t ‘fix’ anything, but made improvements.... and then you STILL hear the same issues happening, I can’t purchase a platform with sustained reliability issues. I’ve switched gears and I’m looking forward to purchasing an optics ready CZ P10S in the near future.

I used to think Kel-tec was the the chief of junk, until I traded in a p3AT (bought when it was the only .380 subcompact) which was unshootable and injured my hand, I was talked into a Taurus Spectrum. No room to describe its awful features, but it immediately dethroned Kel-tec from the Kingship of junk. I did not get it to feed a single round of any ammo. I am hoping the get rid of it soon and change good value for brand. Fortunately every other weapon I own is a "brand." Caveat emptor.

I had a $500+ budget for a “truck gun”. I must have a gun that feels right in my hand, and I will admit I have to like the way it looks. My only other criteria were I wanted a less than full size (hey, I got smaller hands), 9mm and the mag had to hold double digits of rounds. Went to a very well stocked gun shop and handled about 12 pistols the guy recommended based on my wants, almost all of them more expensive than the Taurus. The G2C was the one that hit the marks with the least checks in the compromise column. A few hundred rounds later and I’ve learned to like the trigger and have had no issues. At half my budget, I may just go buy a 2nd one. I really dig it

Its 2019, I have fired over 2500, never had a issue with my G2C. If you follow all the other videos on people who test this 9mm, you will see, they become to love it and its their go to conceal carry. It is such a fun gun to fire, not just for self defense, but also for plinking, practice. It has very solid utility and I have actually used it on tactical ranges in tactical maneuvers including urban combat senerios. It makes a good substitute fire arm for a possible combat situation. Its very rugged for the price. I have dropped it, loaded in my combat maneuvers, did not discharge, like a issue of prior Taurus firearms Combat training and range firing is much more vigorous than say plinking at some indoor range. It handled very well getting dirty like dust sand water, extreme cold and extreme temperatures, one good aspect is it cleans really easy, take down is simple( field strip) to clean in a hurry or a tactical condition - not like my M16 when in the Army- Most fire arms dont handle well with steel jacket ammo, so i sue only brass or aluminum. I did run steel jackets in my Taurus several times, I did notice some marring on the trigger safety, i used a light fiber tube to clearly see the barrel for cracks and stress in the barrel insides after 2500 no noticeable damage to the barrel or on the slide feed, but the trigger safety was marred, took to a gun smith, they replaced, but thats a pretty standard maintenance every gun owner should do...like oil your fire arm, after firing clean your weapon., if you take care of this G2C , you have a gem of fire arm. It 2019, most guys who have tested this had time to run many cartridges through, it has become their trusty go to .. and had some time so replacement parts are much more accessible and affordable. Not sure of other Taurus Models, but this G2C has become, in my option, the best model they have going for them , prior CEO in the company didnt know what they doing, but this new guy as CEO knows how to build a terrific fire arm. The price is still 269.00 USD, They sort of out done themselves cause this model, could be made a government issue for its durability, its accuracy right out of the box, no misfires (if using decent ammo and proper cleaning, like one is taught in the military) its a very good side arm ...and despite its short barrel being a conceal carry, its highly accurate, a very big surprise.

After noticing the Glocks limited capacity and the p365s problems I went with the G2c and I couldn't be happier. The ONLY way to buy!!! AND the most logical!!! Guns are like everything else people buy: the majority go with what is imaged as the best brand, so they end up buying a brand or image - like the packaging around a product, without checking out the product itself. This is the essence of advertising: we tend to buy packages and not products.

First off, I love my P365, I haven't had any issues with mine, I got mine in September of '18 and it's been flawless and yes, I'm a Sig Snob for sure. Here's the thing, if the shit were to hit the fan and I had to choose it would the G2C because there are more people with the Taurus than the Sig and there is a better chance of me finding parts for that than the Sig. Cost of course, and reliability. This update to a gun that's been thru 2 updates since the original model, and that says something. It's only gotten better over the years.

I own both of these guns and like them both for different reasons and different uses. The Sig fits in my pocket and the Taurus on my hip or ankle. I have about 1200 rounds through the Taurus and no issues. About half that through the Sig and also no issues. I have big hands and the Taurus fits much better, but i like having the Sig to easily conceal.

I've shot the sig and I felt like it was a bit snappy. I bought a g2c new for $200 out the door. In it's stock configuration I shot a nice tight group at 10 yards. I have now added lakeline fiber optic sights and talon grips. I use it as my carry gun when I go fishing. I own a sig p320 compact and a few H&K pistols but I must say that little Taurus gets carried the most.

Great Review, I bought the G2C after watching yours and many other videos on the taurus G2C and i have to say that i was very impressed when i took it to the range and fired. I shot incredible small groups that i have never shot with my Glock or S&W pistols. I was quite shocked that a budget friendly pistol like this could produce fantastic accuracy in my shooting ability. I handed it to my friend at the range and he too shot with great accuracy, we just looked at each other and said, who knew?, glad i made that purchase and its now on my EDC lineup, thanks for a honest review!

I appreciate this guy's honesty. I have both and the G2c is more pleasant to shoot and a lot easier to be accurate with. Haven't had any malfunctions at all, on the other hand the Sig failed to go into battery when I first got it even though I polished the rails and lubed it, had to slightly files the top of the barrel breach for the problem to go away. Also had to disassemble the mag release as it was super tight and sticky. The edges of the grip needed to be sanded with 220 grit as they bit into the grip hand. Never have I had to do this much to make a brand new gun acceptable.

Excellent video my friend. I just bought a G2 a couple weeks ago. I remember looking at it just cos it was on sale ($189.00 !!!) When I saw it was a Taurus, I told the dealer I'll take that one. I currently own 2 Taurus firearms but have had 5 in the past. All have exceeded my expectations. Same goes for the G2. If I could add something to your great video it would be this: the G2 is a defensive carry arm. As such, the long takeup trigger is designed to be so. No one (maybe B.Munden) wants a hair trigger on a defensive firearm. You're gonna be shaky and stressed out enough in a bad situation. I love the fact it has this trigger. If one wants a target trigger, buy a target pistol. I have only put 500 rods thru mine, but have had zero failures. Hell, if I were skilled enough, I could put a 5 gallon bucket 10 ft to my right and every spent case would land in it every time. Forget the insane low price of this jewel. The G2 is now my primary carry arm because if I need it to go "bang", it will... every time. Hats off to Taurus. This one's a keeper!

    • @KSGunGuy01
      @KSGunGuy01  5 років тому +2

Thank you Mat! I do agree about not having a hair trigger on a defensive gun. My point was more the length of pull, but once you’re there, the break is awesome as is the reset. I do agree that it’s a keeper. Cheers!

I own both of these guns and love them both. I've had my Taurus PT-111 G2 for a couple years, have put several thousand rounds through it and it performs flawlessly. I purchased an Alien Gear Shapeshifter holster for it and it has been my EDC for a while. My P-365 has a bit over 1,000 rounds though it and has also had zero issues. I have a Vedder Pocket Locker holster and literally carry this in my front pocket. It is a GREAT pocket carry gun and a great option for deep concealment. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these handguns. Obviously the price points are vastly different, my PT-111 was $199 while my P-365 was $529 but the much deeper concealment options while still retaining a high round count on the P-365 made it worth the price in my opinion.

I have to say this. Your "verdict", actually doesn't surprise me
Other channels have come to the same conclusion! However, they did it in a "muffled voice", lol! Some gun guys on here arrived at the same answer to this almost with "regret"! Like, "geez, ya' mean I really have to be honest"?
Hey, Taurus has a reputation of "you get a good one or a real lemon"! But, The PT111 G2 Millenium put them back into the game! Now, this G2C, just refined their largest selling pistol! With this in mind Ruger was watching a thinking we are missing out on a huge market, Budget Handguns? So they woke-up and introduced the Ruger Security 9. Neither will hurt the other due to customer preference on size of the gun.
Sig, Glock, etc. all have a lemon or problems. Taurus has one more "Huge Hurdle" to overcome! Customer Service! Plus the Warranty on one year! But, (please fact check this) Glock has a "One Year Warranty"?
Knowing a company will service your firearm regardless of when you bought it is a paramount issue for me buying a gun! My PT111 G2 is still covered for lifetime!
    Great review, great channel!

I'm kinda new to the pistol scene and picked up what I thought was a "low end" pistol, a Taurus G2C, a couple of months back. Shot it for a while then after about a thousand rounds I thought it was time to "move up". The gun range where I'm a member has free rentals for members, so I started trying out different pistols. Glock, Ruger, S&W, Sig were all represented. I'd load up rounds in each weapon and my G2C to do side by side comparisons. My groups at all yard lines were markedly tighter with the Taurus. NONE of those "higher end" guns could make me give up my G2C. I had even scraped up the cash for a new firearm thinking I was gonna need it for my next purchase. So now I've got my G2C and some spare cash laying around ! Maybe I'll do some upgrades.

my youngest son works at a gunstore/range here in OKC. They are a SIG dealer and have sold an ass load of 365s since last year. they are starting to see more than you would expect comebacks. my father always told me to beware of anything in its first year of production. i had steered away from the 365 for this very reason. i have a SIG P-250 SECOND GEN AND ITS A WONDERFUL FIREARM. I HELD OFF TILL THE ISSUES OF THE FIRST ONES WAS REMEDIED. I MAY DO THE SAME ON THE 365. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL TAURUS FIREARMS DATING BACK TO THE EARLY 80S WHEN THEY WERE MANUFACTURED IN AN OLD SMITH AND WESSON FACTORY IN BRAZIL. THEY WERE EVERY BIT THE QUALITY AS SMITHS BACK THEN JUST NOT THE NAME. I EVEN PUT SMITH TRIGGER KITS IN THEM. I STILL LIKE TAURUS EVEN THO FRIENDS DERIDE ME FOR IT. BUT GIVEN MY ARAY OF FIREARMS I CONSIDER MYSELF VERY OPEN MINDED REGARDING BRANDS AND TYPES. I WONT LET STEREOTYPICAL THINKING CLOUD MY JUDGEMENT. ITS UP TO EACH INDIVIDUAL TO DECIDE, BUT FOR MY TWO CENTS WORTH AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME HAVING SHOT BOTH AND OWN A G2C I WOULD TAKE THE TAURUS. THATS NOT TO SAY THE SIG MIGHT NOT WIND UP IN MY VAULT ALSO AT SOME TIME SOON. JUST NOT RIGHT NOW.

Appendix and the g2c is a comfortable everyday carry.
I would recommend this pistol to the first time owner because of all the safety features, trigger safety, long pull on trigger ( you know when you fire the weapon that it's your choice), plus easy access thumb safety. Great comparison review! I have been waiting for more people to conduct what seems to me to be a natural comparison. Do you want a small, high-capacity CCW pistol? Here are your two options. Tiny, Sig made, and expensive vs. small, Taurus, with higher capacity but dramatically cheaper!
The only down side of the Taurus I found was the odd, particular trigger dingus. It really takes some getting used to. Once you do however, the trigger is good, the package leaves nothing to be desired, and I LIKE a true safety.
The Sig is just too small for my paws, I tried. I loved its concept. I was stoked from Shot Show. It was underwhelming with just how small the grip was and that the Taurus had made something less than half the price, same zip code as far as concealability, with more capacity, and managed to avoid the failure issues which plagued the 365.
I ended up gettting the Taurus for my wife's vehicle gun. There is already an aftermarket for the pistol, which I took advantage of for my lady.
In the end, I really feel that Sig got beat to the punch on this one. Who wants to spend more than double (I got my Taurus for $230 with shipping and transfer fee from Bud's) for a pistol that is only slightly lighter and smaller but gives up capacity and has had function issues?

KSGunGuy, You've got a great channel. I think you are fair and very informative about the weapons you choose to test. Plus, I definitely respect your willingness to treat the Tuarus fairly in comparison to a fan favorite brand like Sig. Keep up the good work and continued success.
The most hypocritical response possible is that if a Taurus made a gun with as many problems as the Sig P365 or P320 all the critics would condemn it into oblivion yet they makes excuses for the SIg.
I don't own either weapon so I am not defending a brand I favor but I recognize that the Sig needs work and the Taurus may be the best under $400.00 9mm on the market. It's definitely better than my S&W M&P Shield 9mm which I just sold to buy the Walther CCP M2.

I have had my g2c for over 4 years now and I have owned many others. I have military and L.E. experience. My feeling on this exact subject is my brother has the SIG 365 and I like them both. I put a vortex venom red dot on my G2C plus an olight mini baldur green laser light combo. It is still compact enough for me and I now can shoot in any situation I can find myself in. I also put an upgraded all stainless steel recoil spring and a stainless steel firing pin sleeve. It's now smoother to shoot and the trigger has a crisp break. It fits my hand better than anything else. I have 20.000 rounds through it so far with zero malfunctions I have a world class compact 9mm that I will put my life on. My friend is retired FBI and he said he can use the safety the slide release and the mag release without shifting his grip on it at all. He said no other gun he has used has done that. I didn't realize it myself until he told me but he's right. That's a huge advantage under stress.

I appreciate the long travel of the trigger for an off duty or civilian carry. It is a preference, does not mean that it is right or wrong, it is a preference. Also my opinion, "a pistol without a manual safety or grip safety is for work or professional business." A pistol with a manual safety would be for casual or civilian carry. IF I am working, a Glock is perfect. For pocket carry this Taurus is my preference. Boot carry would be for something like the Ruger or Kel tec .380's.

Gotta tell ya, I've had my P365 since the beginning. It was one of the first 2,000 produced. I have nearly 5,000 rounds through it (I go to the range often and usually put 200-300 rounds through it each time) and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. Everything is perfect on this gun. The trigger is great, and the Xray-3 sights are phenomenal! It is a bit pricey, but it's made by Sig and the quality really shines through. It was my first CCW gun so I was okay with spending some extra money on something I won't be replacing for a long time. Being able to pull the trigger group out with one pin at the rear makes is a breeze to deep clean, which happens when you carry it every day. Overall a fantastic choice if you are willing to "bite the bullet" and spend some extra money. 😁 Hope that I bump into you at centerfire sometime. Would be cool to meet a legend in my eyes! Keep up the great work!👍

After testing, I've carried my G2c daily for over 3 years. Zero stoppages of any sort with any normal ammo, including hollow points (except it will not run CCI snake shot smoothly - only stuff I've tried it won't run). Accuracy is acceptable but as good as the larger G3, (but I'm spoiled by long-barreled revolvers). I have no problem hitting silhouette targets at self-defense distances. I have come to trust this arm with my life simply because of its reliability. I do carry other arms in my rotation, depending on clothing, but this has been 95% my main carry arm since purchase. Thanks for a well-done review.

The G3c is also my house gun, with a light mounted.

I know it's a bit late, but I myself do like the Taurus hands down. Another thing I like about the Taurus is it's certainly geared for the first time shooter/firearm owner that doesn't have a lot of money. That's really important these days,as most with the economy, can't afford Glock or sig prices. Also at the price you can toss it in the tool box, tackle box, glove box or console and not worry about it. I think this is certainly going to get more people not only interested in shooting, but more people being able to afford to protect their family in this crazy world we live in.... the only thing is we need to find someplace that makes and sells a good quality magazine at a great price....30-35 is a lot for a factory magazine, but I can't gripe too much. It does ship with 2,and at the end of the day, getting 2 additional mags still costs way less then a Glock

Thanks for another really good comparison video. I'm finding that I'm 95 percent in agreement with you on the G2C. I actually went out and bought a second one the following weekend from the first one. And for what they were selling these for over the holiday weekend was just silly low. Rather than use any store name we'll just say it was a rather large store and it was Father's day weekend. But back to your post, it's very refreshing to see someone not judge a book by its cover, and actually give a firearm a chance to function or malfunction, perform well or poorly, etc. So thanks again. I mentioned in a previous comment on another video of yours, that a lot of folks seem to get hung up on that thumb safety, (no pun intended honestly), but unless it's getting in your way then just don't use it, if that's what someone's preference is. Also you mentioned the loaded chamber indicator, I think as a negative for you, in one of your videos I think this one or maybe more than one, but I don't have an issue with that either. The Sig SP2022 has a very similar indicator, (another firearm that in my estimation has been look down on poorly just based on initial price. Course they're not that cheap now, but when they first came out and they started talking about canceling manufacture, you could pick one up for nothing), sorry, but the Beretta 92 has a loaded chamber indicator on the extractor. The PPK has an indicator pin at the back. I don't have any issue with that either; even less than the thumb safety. Otherwise I am very curious to know if you have had an issue with it getting in your way. I haven't experienced an issue but that's not to say it can't happen. You've put a lot more rounds through yours than I have mine. Anyway thanks again for the comparison videos, I'm not through them all yet oh, but I'm working on em.

Taurus has "upped" their game, the last few years. While companies like Sig, and RUGER, have been producing JUNK, while relying on their previous reputations. Word is getting out on them! Both new Rugers that I recently bought, have light strike issues, and my 10/22 would ONLY run with CCI Velocitors, when I first bought it. It actually has LOTS of problems. My new LCR also has light primers strikes, about every 7-8 rounds. That's unacceptable!!! They are the worst 2 guns that I own. Period. I LOVE my PT-111 G2, tho. And my Taurus model 66 .357 7 shot revolver. Both have been flawless!!!

I'm going to be making my first handgun purchase very soon. I have looked at the G2C for about 4 months. I've read the reviews and watched a large number of comparison videos between this weapon and several others. Knowing little about firearms and having no practical experience, the one observation I have made across many, many videos, is the that the Taurus seems extremely accurate regardless of who is firing it. This more than the cost or features has sold me on this product. Has anyone else noticed this?

Bought my G2C 3 years ago for $200 with an additional mail in rebate of $50. So I'm only into it for $150. I had to send it back twice, not ejecting. First time they replaced the spring and said it was fixed but wasn't. Second send back they replaced the ejector and that did the trick. I bought it primarily as a truck gun but it's now my EDC.

Simple way to take your G2C to the next level is to swap the stock trigger for a Keep Tinkering trigger. For $30, this trigger is night and day in terms of ergonomics, smoothness and functionality. You can get SAO triggers or a SA/DA, but both remove the trigger safety (stock trigger safety is uncomfortable and not that smooth) while still retaining the thumb safety and the internal safeties that prevent discharge if you drop the gun. Glad I did this upgrade.

WHAT! Ha ha. Considering you could get 2 G2Cs for the price of the Sig with money left for ammo, it's a good choice. As long as their reliable, most differences between similar pistols is down to aesthetics, ergos & price. Being this late in the year, I'm hoping someone is planning a P365 clone release from another manufacturer at SHOT, with an April delivery. I'd love to see a solid competitor to the P365 in the same size, w/o the problems. That small format is just too nice not to copy. And just about anyone will charge less for it.
