Fun fact: When Doctor Strange held back the water, it was a metaphor for the piss you’d been holding in all throughout the film.
My thought was that Doctor Strange was already focused on holding back the water, and then Captain Marvel goes and drops a massive bloody ship in it....he must have appreciated that.

One thing that's really sad about this scene is that the Hulk doesn't fight like he used to anymore. It will be so epic and goosebump if Hulk version of 2008 enter this battle 🔥
The original plan was to have Scott, in his Giant-Man form, to throw Banner likewise a baseball to the ship, thus proving that he really is the best of both worlds. Alas, the higher-ups wanted more spotlight given to Danvers.
If Vision and Hulk were there, it's a good shot fighting those aliens. And of course the entrance of Captain Marvel.
Facts I wish they used Norton's version of the hulk instead

Because at the end of the day Thanos values the ability to enforce his will. the destructive power of his ship gave him that, Gamaro used to give him that, until she turned against him. throwing gamora off the cliff was just getting rid of a tool that was no longer of any use, but that ship, well that tool was still very useful.

Imagine telling someone watching iron man 13 years ago that one day they’d see iron-spider swinging from Thor’s hammer that was tossed by captain america while holding the infinity guantlet in a giant battle in the ruins of the avengers mansion between the avengers, guardians of the galaxy, Wakanda and thanos
AND A PEGASUS with a Valkyrie and even Pepper in a Suit! I was really mindblown by this. I would have never imagined this when I saw the first Avengers movie!

Man 15 year old me (2008 was when Iron Man came out) lost his shit when Nick Fury showed up! The closest thing to Endgame was Marvel Ultimate Alliance on PS2. It still blows my mind how far and how well done MCU has come! This was a once-in-a-lifetime event!

One thing that always made me laugh a little at this point: she smashes through the Marvel equivalent of a Super Star Destroyer on her own, but a few scenes later all the women gather around her to get through a field of enemies goin "she's got help.".... She don't need the help.

That's so true! I honestly love the Girl Power scene but the reasoning behind them joining forces was dumb. Give the gauntlet to Nebula, Gamora or Shuri and then it makes a little more sense.
I think about this every time. Like, I get why they did it, but what are the rest of you going to do? She's going to take the gauntlet from point a to point b and there's not much anyone can do to stop her.
I also hate the way it plays out. All of these powerful women band together and still didn’t accomplish their goal.

every minute contains a manifestation of a character build in the previous movies. Peter's kidlike innocence, but also his vulnerability. Rocket's mannerism being thrown out the window to protect his little groot, Dr strange's intellect and training to prevent the water from flooding everybody... its amazing. Truly a masterpiece of filmmaking that the scorcece's can't even comprehend. You have so many characters, so many charateristics you have to display.. otherwise it wont work.

This isn't going as well as future me's battle went
No the first time was when Wanda was about to turn him into a meatball but he called his killstreak to save himself.
He knew then that this was his one and only stand. No way back, just forward. It actually hardened his resolve and made him fight even better than his future gauntleted version. Infinity War Thanos always fought from a huge advantage point, so sure of himself that he was basically soloing it all (which would have him lose if not for Star Lords ego). Endgame Thanos goes all in. He is 10 times more powerful than his future self.

This is a great demonstration of why Carol is by far the strongest Avenger ( until Thor actually fully masters his powers ) . Wanda is powerful but she is a glass canon . She only has offensive and can be taken out like any normal human . But Carol ? She both has raw strength and the kind of durability that’s god level . Add in the fact that she can actually travel in space and fly and the only who comes close to her and could eventually surpass her is Thor
I honestly have a hard time believing any of that at least in the context of these movies. Regardless, she is a poorly written piece of wood and also, Wanda soloed Captain Marvel in Multiverse of Madness.

I love it how Captain Marvel just powerhouses in and takes out the mothership. She’s one of my favourite characters. ❤ The original Captain Marvel movie was amazing. I still can’t believe the completely unfair negative reviews and comments it received. It was and will still be one of my favourite MCU films.
To each their own, but NO. She is the worst hero in the MCU and her movie is one of the worst movies in the franchise. She is boring, unlikable plank of wood who just so happens to have this much power, and this scene is one of the worst and most forced parts of the film.
0:57-1:00 This part to me showed that Peter went back to being the scared vulnerable young man he once was for a moment. Really hits in the feels. It shows deep down, that while he may have those spider powers, he still has that fear and hopelessness.

Only ever been a few moments for me like that in fantasy and non true story film. One was when in Lord of the Rings everything's going badly, Minas Tirith is being attacked and then you hear horns and see the people of Rohan lined in front of the sun rising then charging to save Gondor. One was the first Avengers film seeing Hulk, Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Captain America all in a circle for the hero shot like the comics I read as a kid, and then in this movie when it's Captain America standing alone vs Thanos and his army, then the portal opens with "On your left." In this moment, I knew it was Captain Marvel. What I wanted, was Captain Marvel tanking hits for Fury showing up driving the MF'ing Helicarrier, either refitted with the Insight Helicarrier cannons for an aerial battleship slugfest, or for him to just be driving the damn thing himself to crash it into the Sanctuary.
So far 2 of 3 of Captain Marvel's greatest achievements MCU wise... have basically been being a Stinger Missile.

Look, I'm going to be very honest For me, this was the best Marvel film, I don't know if I'm exaggerating, but I remember when I went to see this film in the theaters... There were a lot of emotions that I hadn't felt before, it felt like I was in the film, it was so good. I don't know if it's because of the year, because in 2019 the pandemic hadn't hit the world yet and today, because of the pandemic, I might miss that time... because it was a time when I was very happy... Maybe this film isn't exactly the best Marvel film, but one thing I can guarantee, if it's not the best Marvel film, I believe it raised Marvel's level to another level, it evolved. Does anyone agree? When I remember the 2019 Marvel film, I'm kind of moved by the fact that the film was top notch, but also because of the time when there was no pandemic, I miss that time.

It’s one of the best, but not ‘the’ best. Captain Marvel’s moments although minute really drag the film down a bit.
