What's kind of crazy to think about is that from Wanda's perspective, Thanos had just killed Vision like, 10-15 minutes before. So she was HEATED. All that pain was very fresh for her.
Yup. And then to help deal with that pain, she kidnaps and entire town, rewrites their memories, and brings back Vision from the dead, all to start a happy little family

0:44 Her acting in this scene stole the show. The delivery of her lines. Her movements. What stuck out most to me was her facial expressions. Masterfully done, particularly when she’s struggling against his sword. For a brief moment she looks overwhelmed. In another moment she appears to be almost smiling, only to be immediately replaced by the expression of just how much energy she’s mustering up to break his sword and push him back. That brief moment when she almost looked like she was smiling was terrifying. Someone with red glowing eyes smiling at you while you’re giving all your effort at defeating her must’ve unsettled him.
the same sword/armor that the combined efforts of Thor, Stark and Cap didn't damage at all. She, on her own, breaks his sword that shred through vibranium. Once she realized that, she starts ripping the legs off of the spider. She Oberyn Martell's/Gohan's it, and pays the same price for wanting to prolong the revenge.
“Power isn’t your problem, it’s knowledge” Agatha Harkness to Wanda Seeing Wanda try and put a big sturdy shield up against that rain of fire and it not working compared to the immediate next shot of Wong and the sorcerers successfully putting up their shields made me remember that line from Agatha.
Right, if Wanda has only enough knowledge about her powers, she can easily bring those rain fire to directly to Thanos while she's killing him slowly in the air.
She had just begun to firm the shield. If it were formed like Wong's it won't have shattered. She doesn't cast spell, she wills them. The shield hadn't even begun to firm when she was hut by the blast.
I guess that’s a good point. But I would say that Wong and the wizards had the same amount of time as Wanda did and they were able to get a shield up. I’m sure if Wanda had all her knowledge she could have put up a strong shield faster.
if you look closely the blast hit right beside her and you can see she's anticipating that the blast will hit her in the front not beside her, so probably her shield won't be really strong at that time. (?)
Both Wanda and the sorcerers had the same amount of time, difference is, the sorcerers know exactly how to create a perfect shield for the rain fire, whereas Wanda only channeled power and knew nothing of how exactly the rain fire could be stopped, to put it simply, she could create a shield, but she just didn't know how to.
I love how you can see Thanos enjoying making Wanda struggle against him, and then her face when she realizes that she's stronger than him. Amazing job across the board.
@@stormy4821 Was definitely grimacing at first but it totally turns into the biggest shit eating smirk ever when she realizes she's stronger then proceeded to go full Darth Vader on him
Picture this truly terrifying scene... According to the MCU, the blade of thanos was made from Uru. This is the same metal used on Gungnir, mjolnir, and stormbreaker. All of these weapons are only malleable under the condition of extreme magic (case of Hela) or prolonged exposure to the energies of a dying star. And she just... chipped it. Like she was opening a jar of pickles.
Man I love how terrifyingly strong Wanda is. Barely holding her rage against him, slowly peeling his armor and "deconstructing him" so he can feel a fraction of the pain he caused her by killing Vision. And aftter I watched WandaVision you just realize what Agatha said: "Your problem isn't power...It's knowledge". Imagine if Wanda knew what she could do. She would've probably torture Thanos for ages in this one moment somehow.
if this wanda was from wanda vision she could have put thanos into a poket reality and then just torture him like she did to the people in the town that she took over thanos wouldnt be able to do sh*t
I don't think some people realize, but Wanda literally snapped Thanos's sword in half with her magic. Thanos's sword is made of Uru. Uru is a metal ore found only on the first moon that came into existence. Mjolnir is made from Uru as well. This is definitely not an easy feat for her to destroy. In perspective, everyone's armor and weapon on earth stood no chance against her, maybe even any metal in all of MCU. She is one TREMENDOUSLY powerful Omega-Level mutant.
I see a bunch of people acting surprised that Wanda was so hilariously overpowered in Multiverse of Madness. Here she is, before she got the Darkhold buff, and she solos Thanos so badly that he literally has to call in artillary fire from the atmosphere, ignoring the casualties to his own forces, because he's getting bodied THAT badly. "Captain Marvel is the strongest Avenger," my ass. Put some respect on Wanda's name.
Wanda was ALWAYS super powerful if you actually read the comics. No one should be surprised at all as it's FAR from being "hilariously overpowered" as she's ALWAYS been this powerful.
💯 agree. People complaining after watching MoM about Wanda squashing the Illuminati like bugs was just rediculouse! I guess, most of them complaining were just normie or they simply wanted to argue just for the sake of arguing.
Iron Man would beg to differ. Dr. Strange set it all up as well, because he saw the only way to win. Disney MCU producers can't even follow their own bad writing apparently.
@@randomness5281 Joss Whedon's Justice League was terrible writing and just terrible all around. Snyder's Cut was actually a great superhero movie, and one of the best of all time. If not for the few epic scenes at the end, it would have overall been a terrible film, but most people just remember those great scenes at the end and forget the rest. @@redmanlaw0002 nah there was no need for the r rating The theme and tone were all over the place and not "dark and mature". Felt more like edgy to me. The villains were generic af. No quality motivations
I think Wanda had her own “you should of gone for the head” moment here, it looks like she’s less trying to kill him and more (understandably) trying to make him suffer, she chipped his sword practically on accident, which is made of Uru metal by the way, you know, the metal that Mjolnir and Stormbreaker are made out of. I think that if she wanted him dead more than she wanted him to suffer the credits would have rolled a lot sooner
I disagree with the (practically on accident ) part She was pissed and her powers grow more thru emotion and turmoil wich she felt when she saw him She riped that sword in half like it was nothing That wasn't an accident that was just pure chaos power
@@akgonen60 It was accidental in the sense that she didn't really seem to be focusing on breaking it, it just literally shattered from trying to hold back the force of her power. I definitely agree that the end credits could have rolled here if she had put that same force towards his head or heart after she broke the sword. Thanos is crazy tough but it still seems really unlikely that he's physically more durable than Uru metal, especially Uru metal crafted into a weapon.
Thanos would have owned all the Avengers had he not been nerfed and the heroes not had the plot armour. Endgame is highly overrated, it's only because of the hype that it got such a high rating. Infinity War is easily the best movie in the MCU. I liked the ending Endgame gave, but there was barely any stake. We already knew Avengers are gonna win, but I didn't expect them to win this easily.
I LOVE Wandas delivery of “You will.” It’s so final. It’s so absolute. Its not arrogant or posturing, just pure matter of fact. There is no question, there is no quarter. In this Wandas mind, her Vision was killed in front of her 10 minutes ago. So she’s coming in HOT.
"In this Wandas mind, her Vision was killed in front of her 10 minutes ago. " - And that's why Thanos should have been toast inside of 3 seconds. @@caiwieee7382 true, but prior to endgame, i love her and knew she was going to be the strongest after realizing she can mind control people as noob unlike strange
That moment you realize she was slowly ripping Thanos apart, cell by cell, fiber by fiber, hence his cry of pain for the first time in his allpowerful life. He was in the presence of the Scarlet Witch.
No he was in the presence of Wanda. The scarlet witch would have ended him and his entire army. Well his army would be destroyed in a second but him… oh she would have a marvellous time ripping him apart and putting him back together just to watch his pained face and hear his screams as she tore him apart again and again and again until the sun set on a better world without his molested bloodline
Wanda has definitely become my favourite female character in the MCU. Think she’s leagues above Captain Marvel both as a character and in terms of power
i mean, now with the MCU possibly entering into the more supernatural side of things (dr strange, eternals....dare i say, BLADE!?!?), we may very well be seeing big bads that are more terrifying than thanos. with wandavision done, going back to watch these scenes from the infinity saga movies really puts into perspective how much more can be drawn from the comics to expand the MCU
This actually already foreshadows Wanda true strength and potential. The combo of Stark, Cap, and Thor couldn't beat Thanos but she alone was able to kill him.
Tbf stark and cap are just humans while thor is a fat drunk god. Thor is basically like wanda, both don’t realise the power they truly hold. Actually now that you think about it, they are even more similar as they hold the power of elder gods. One comes from the chais god Cthon which gives power to wanda and thor is the child of Gaea. If thor were to tap into his odinforce and utilize his magic. He could end the fight in seconds.
After watching MoM I’m surprised Maria Rameau lasted the longest in a fight with scarlet witch. People are saying they nerfed her but she literally lasted 2 minutes as opposed to 1 second or 10 seconds for Captain carter
@@SunlightGwyn Odin says who ever holds the hammer has the POWER of thor. Not strength or durability. Oryx, he deformity has all of the abilities of Thor. The power of Thor includes every ability he has which is why Cap was able to accidentally call Stormbreaker. You know when Thor said, “No, you take the little one.” Stormbreaker is too heavy to wield for anyone without super strength of the level of Thor, Hulk, and what not.
When Wanda says “You will.” The fury, complete heartbreak and the way she knows she can end him solo (which she would have if he hadn’t ordered them to rain fire), just cements her as one of my favourite characters in the mcu.

One-hundred percent of your energy is directed toward the commitment of just fucking breaking an asshole's soul into fifths, pouring them into shot glasses and knocking'm back like it's air.
Not to mention that she can stop, rewind, and fastforward time in her own reality lol. And that whatever she creates inside the Hex can actually exist outside in the real life. So she can literally create something out of nothing. When Dr. Strange tried to reverse Wanda's spell, he couldn't do it because her spell was so intricately connected with reality that all of reality would implode if he were to reverse it. Getting rid of Wanda's spell is like gettin rid of gravity or physics. Can you imagine a world without gravity?

This version of Wanda basically JUST lost vision so she was running on weapons grade rage. Powerful emotions do crazy stuff to her powers. She's basically like a living reality stone when she's got her back up.
Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is one of the most powerful beings in the MU, and now, the MCU. Often portrayed as a tragic villain character, not because she has the intent to do harm, but because her ability to manipulate reality is so powerful and chaotic (literally called Chaos Magic) that she can't control it. Particularly when angered or upset. In the House of M comic series, the Avengers and X-Men teamed up with the goal of killing her (because she was too powerful and uncontrollable). In rage during the battle, and due to perceived betrayal, she yells "No More Mutants!" That was enough to bend reality. Thanos snapping all mutants bar those she cared about from existence and the remainder into groundhog day scenarios where they live out a life Wanda believed they would like. She is THAT strong. You see glimpses of her chaotic power in WandaVision. That, but on a planetary scale. As a side note, Thanos' weapon was made from the same material as Mjolnir. Wanda practically pulled a Hela pre WandaVision and she's still learning. She was also capable of destroying an Infinity Stone. Something only, as the MCU establishes, all stones combined were capable of. Not even Odin could destroy the Reality Stone, never mind doing so while keeping the other stones at bay.

Her acting in this scene stole the show.

“Power isn’t your problem, it’s knowledge” Agatha Harkness to Wanda
Seeing Wanda try and put a big sturdy shield up against that rain of fire and it not working compared to the immediate next shot of Wong and the sorcerers successfully putting up their shields made me remember that line from Agatha.

I think that if she wanted him dead more than she wanted him to suffer the credits would have rolled a lot sooner
I disagree with the (practically on accident ) part

They nerfed thanos in the MCU you realize that right? Comic Thanos literally eats MCU Thanos, he is literally immune to reality manipulation.
I remember being totally caught off guard by this scene. Sure she's been shown to be strong but at no point before this was it even remotely implied that she was THIS strong. Absolutely love it of course, but man was it quite the surprise!
If you read the comics though you would know that she is EXTREMELY powerful, and it’s only natural they would also show that in the movies
Did you miss the part where she literally disintegrates a freaking infinity stone in Infinity War?

Uh. No. She can beat Thanos without any stones. But give him even just the reality stone and he claps her. With the reality stone he could make her hands disappear, and she could not override what the reality stone does. Even the scarlet witch at full power still loses in a reality warping battle to the wielder of the reality stone.
I love how Wanda gets progressively more powerful after each movie. Think about it:
Age of Ultron: Casts illusions on the Avengers and moves objects with her hands.
Civil War: Holds off Vision (who's powered by the Mind Stone) while she and Hawkeye can escape.
Infinity War: Destroys an Infinity Stone while holding off Thanos.

Since Wanda was brought back moments after Vision's death, her anger would have surpassed that of Thor in Infinity War. That is probably why she went into close combat first. The difference is that Thor had a few days to clear his head. For Wanda it was like 10-15 minutes ago.
