Antje Traue (portraying Faora-Ul) is a true gem. The amount of effort (both in acting anf in physical preparation) she invested into the role is nothing short of amazing.

My favourite Superhero movie! So much greatness about it - The opening rescue at sea, the flashbacks of Clark growing up, the scenes with Martha in present day, the first flight, the fight in Smallville and then that perfect ending of joining the Daily Planet.
I loved Superman before this. And I love this Superman. My favorite superhero, and I don’t believe Zack did him an injustice. Haters like to ignore that this is a Superman who is new to his role, someone who was thrusted into his first real battle early and from which would learn many of his core lessons the hard way, such as restraint, finding another way and seeking more peaceful solutions to prevent a battle.
Man of Steel is the best Superman film created. Doubt we will see another one better than this. The story line the actors it was just perfection. I’m a marvel fan and man of steel is in my top 3 superhero films. Loved this film

I have to say Man of Steel is still Zack Snyder's best movie, alongside Watchmen. Even after watching his Justice League. MoS is also still the best dceu movie to date. As close to an action/sci fi movie masterpiece as I’ve seen.
Superman hovering above the military is visually striking. Synder nailed the depiction of an alien, an otherworldly being, a god, with finesse. There’s a sense of wonder and awe, the sunlight shining behind him, the military looking up to him. Utterly symbolic of what superman is and brilliantly executed.

That sweeping shot between 3:37 to 3:43 coupled with the music is amazing. One of my favorite parts of the movie. I always remember it because it was one of the set pictures that was released during production.
I think this is about as good as it will ever get. I'm not a big fan of the movie, that's mostly due to it being "Superman". It's one of those stories I always really want to like, but just can't in the end. That said, the execution of this gets a 9/10. Minus 1 point because I would have liked Zod to be a tad bit more campy and cartoonish, like in the original movies, but at the same time, with a very serious tone.
I think this movie is the best you can hope to do to make a 'realistic' adaptation of Superman. It applies the same principles of naturalism and internal logical and artistic consistency that Christopher Nolan used in his Batman movies, and I admire it immensely for that. It's a true modern interpretation of the character that stands on its own without any need to reference or pay homage to Donner's movies, Williams' iconic score or anything else. It's a damn shame WB didn't allow Snyder to carry on with this universe.
"Man Of Steel" is of my favorite films of all time & up there with the Avengers unlike the rest of the DCEU, which I stopped watching after BvS, especially because of what they handled Superman moving forward. "Man Of Steel" >>>>> DCEU

Seeing him floating over the army with all their guns pointed at him reminds me that at any moment he could take them all out no problem. Like Ultraman would for fun. And Kryptonite had not been made by the terraforming machine yet so he would not be stopped.

Superman hovering above the military is visually striking. Synder nailed the depiction of an alien, an otherworldly being, a god, with finesse. There’s a sense of wonder and awe, the sunlight shining behind him, the military looking up to him. Utterly symbolic of what superman is and brilliantly executed.

That sweeping shot between 3:37 to 3:43 coupled with the music is amazing. One of my favorite parts of the movie. I always remember it because it was one of the set pictures that was released during production.

Best Superman of This Century So Far
I think this is about as good as it will ever get. I'm not a big fan of the movie, that's mostly due to it being "Superman". It's one of those stories I always really want to like, but just can't in the end. That said, the execution of this gets a 9/10. Minus 1 point because I would have liked Zod to be a tad bit more campy and cartoonish, like in the original movies, but at the same time, with a very serious tone.

I think this movie is the best you can hope to do to make a 'realistic' adaptation of Superman. It applies the same principles of naturalism and internal logical and artistic consistency that Christopher Nolan used in his Batman movies, and I admire it immensely for that. It's a true modern interpretation of the character that stands on its own without any need to reference or pay homage to Donner's movies, Williams' iconic score or anything else. It's a damn shame WB didn't allow Snyder to carry on with this universe.
We are recognising day by day that " MAN OF STEEL" is a Masterpiece!
"Man Of Steel" is of my favorite films of all time & up there with the Avengers unlike the rest of the DCEU, which I stopped watching after BvS, especially because of what they handled Superman moving forward.
