You must talking about be great Nate Watts....He's been Stevie's bassist forever. I love "Do I Do", but the masterpiece for Nate is "I Wish". He is amazing!!! But the crown for bass has to go to Jamerson. He really was The Motown Sound.

And those horns, that bass and sitar. Incredible! Hard to believe this is 53 years old. Can’t see any of todays rubbishy efforts being played in 53 years time-can you?
I was 11 in 1970, this was one of the greatest songs that year. Pretty sure that is Dennis Coffey and Robert white on guitars. The electric sitar being the lead instrument. And of course, the incredible mr Jameson on bass. The mix is super and the vocals knock it out of the park.
Yacky Snacky OMG This beautiful classic is in its own class of its own do you agree? I will always cherish this awesome classic real music speaks for itself timeless indeed AMEN! !

I sing this whenever I can in performance, definitely a signature song for me. On my best day, I can nail most of the falsetto. At 61 though, it's a little tougher but I still got it. Extremely blessed to still be in the 🎯 game.
Even though the Spinners had more success with Atlantic and Thom Bell, this has always been my fave. "Shame" rocks! Motown's guitarists never got the credit they should have for laying down such licks. Also, some of the greatest long versions - monumental in a couple cases - came out of Motown. Particularly "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and the plaintively magnificent "Papa Was A Rolling Stone". This version of "It's A Shame" goes right up there. Terrific work. This was the last song they recorded before leaving Motown. They finally hit the Big Time at Atlantic working with Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff as part of The Philly Soul Sound.
I had no idea that Thom Bell worked with them. Then he along with Linda Creed (RIP) Co Wrote The Stylistics Songs. They were such a major influence. I'm 57 and grew up with this song. I've enjoyed most all the original versions of my childhood music best but this would qualify as that rare exception. I can only echo the many comments already posted, this is truly a listening pleasure. Thanks

One of the groups that gave all the other groups a run for they're money. And top of the charts. "Spinners"👌👍
