    I'm 75yrs old now and this tune is special to me because I actually proposed to my wife on bended knee with this playing on the dukebox in 1970, great day's of 60's/70's music.

    I listened to this like it was yesterday back in the seventies driving my new 1972 Chevrolet nova. With this new song with a beautiful simple life!

    Saw them perform live in Atlantic City many years ago and they performed this hit and all their other hits. They sounded exactly like they did in the 70s. And they were dressed to kill. This music will live forever. Glad I was born and raised back in the day. The music was far better.

      It's a shame that Motown did absolutely nothing with the Spinners even after this incredible record.The Spinners finally became famous after they left Motown. But unfortunately to this very day. They have never won a Grammy.

    in the 70's, this song would be playing every morning on the radio. My Dad and I would get to the kitchen about the same time. He would have his coffee while reading the paper. It's amazing how a song can imprint time!

      I was 20 years ago when this came out. I was driving in my car it was on the radio, I had to pull over and listen and find out who this group was! That’s how much I loved this song in the music, and it still gets better every time I listen to it! The music of the 70s transcends anything and everything that is there today. That decade made the best of the best!

    I loved The Spinners then and I love The Spinners now! How I miss good music. I am so lucky to have been a child in the 50's, a teen and young adult in the 60's and been able to live in those times with all the great music. I really feel for the young of the last 3-4 decades!!! They have crap for music !!!

    I wasn't born when this song came out, but was aware of it for years. Then one day recently I actually heard it. Wow! I listened to it over and over, focusing on a different element each time - the bass...then the guitar...then the horns...the drums, and of course the voice overarching it all. The slow build up from plaintive lament to full throated anguish - what a well constructed piece of art this song is. Amazing.

      That's right for thanking Stevie Wonder . He wrote this for The Spinners when Berry Gordy of Motown was dismissing them, lead vocals by G.C. Cameron who went solo after this song hit the Big Time.... Phillipe' Wyn took over lead vocals when they got signed to Atlantic Records, and the rest is history, can't believe they are not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame !

It's only getting worse. Music of my generation is 90s rap and R&B. But even I can tell you that they're only as good as they were because they grew up on music of the past. For me 60s, 70s, 80, 90s had some of the best years of music.

Then something happened and it switched to very young female acts. I guess if you're a talent agent the cross marketing into fashion for female acts is much lucrative. But they all sound the same and formula driven production.
