New to synths so its kind of overwhelming but these tutorials help a lot! Being a guitarist for 30 years, I at least understand all the effects since all synth effects are used in guitars too.
Pigments is always my first choice to start any sound, it's a monster. I'd really enjoy a tutorial on how to make sound FX with Pigments granular and harmonic synths.
Always had heard that Pigments was good, but never looked into exactly what it did until the recent sale. Now having a SP-404 mk2 sampler, the aspect of doing sample based synthesis sounds interesting and, oddly enough, was something I've pondered attempting with a combination of looper pedals and LFOs 😂
Layout wise pigments beats every other synth out there easily. Armed to the teeth with basically everything while providing a super clean, intuitiv and fast gui. A lot of thought and experience went into this synth. The only thing I don’t like is the wavetable browser, i wish they they would “borrow” some ideas from phaseplant 😬
I like how colorful it is but personally the gui has way too many tabs and convoluted routing. I’m definitely biased to phaseplant but… I mean it’s phaseplant. Lol
Personally despite the tabs I find Pigments to be faster on ky experience, but agree with @Alckemy as Phase Plant has a better routing. I use Vital the most for wavetables tho
The price >_> (lol only paid for it once on V1) But seriously, the oscillators are really versatile, heck the whole synth is. I picked it over Phaseplant and Serum and have no regrets
@@AlexReidStudios Oh, don't get me wrong, it's a big temptation every time it goes on sale for $99 lol. I still use their first synth, kHs One from when it was a $100 or $200 plugin :D
I definitely wanna get pigments at some point, my dream midi controller is the keylab, so im sorta waitng to see if they come out with a keylab 88 mk3 and if i manage to pull the trigger on that im hoping they will give me a big discount on pigments or bundle it with the hardware.
@@AlexReidStudios time will tell. for now im just waiting to see what they do with the keylab line. would hate to buy a mk2 only for them to release a mk3 a year later. my nektar still works for now
