Been waiting 17 long years for this! My buddies and I played Tenkai 3 legit all night into the morning when I got it for my 17th birthday back in the day. Great review, so excited to grab it myself this Friday! Still can't believe we lost the creator and English narrator on the eve of the biggest DB releases in some time with this and Daima. RIP, Toryiama-sensei and Doc Harris. Your contributions to our childhoods are immeasurable.
I can totally relate! My best friend and I played the first Budokai all day and night when we were kids. My buddy played so long that he started puking his guts out, but kept playing anyway lol. Hope you dig this one as much as I have. Thanks for watching! 🤘 -Garrett
This is like if infinity ward finally gave us MW2 with insane graphics, and the same amazing feeling we got playing it all those years ago. This game is amazing, they really gave us DBZ fans exactly what we wanted
I have to be honest, I’m pleasantly surprised by the reviews I’ve seen so far. I had been planning to get this one sometime down the road when it’s on sale, now I’m really, really fighting the urge to not pick it up immediately. 😂
As someone who grew up poor and isn’t exactly well off as an adult; it’s one of the only games I’ve prepurchased in my time gaming. Actually now that I think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever pre purchased any game. The most I’ve done is buy one or two on release. So me dropping 110 bucks on prepurchasing this was wild to me. But I absolutely do not regret it. Not a single bit. I was afraid the AI wouldn’t be that great and that it would rely on multiplayer battles to keep it alive. But even the CPU characters fight pretty well and have distinct styles and methods. I can see it being the definitive DB game if they add everyone they’re missing to the roster (which isn’t a lot so I think that’s what they plan) and add a handful of maps like Kame house and Beerus’s planet. The graphics just can’t be beat because of the simplicity. And the mechanics are really intricate and dynamic. So unless it’s a 2D fighter, no 3D DB game will ever be able to top this.
I haven't played the game yet but from what I've seen i really hope that they allow the tournament to feature far more than 8 entrants, being able to have random stages each battle and choose different stages would be great too
The spam attacks from pc is annoying but it actually helps in the long run. The most frustrating is when the cpu super counters your attacks, back to back or off your first attack regardless of it being a vanish, smash or regular □/×
I bet my left nut that most disappointed by episode battles haven’t done the what if sparking episodes that are kinda hard to figure out how to get, the sparking episodes are better than the main story and have more production value even yet they are hidden!
It’s wild that people are upset about the base line story stuff. I’m skipping over EVERYTHING because I’ve seen and played the Z story line dozens of times in my life. I don’t need to watch a movie when I play a game, I just want good gameplay lol
So playing it it sort of feels like tenkaichi 1. Not alot of cancels or difrent hit types or variety. Good first attempt but 7 out 10. Maybe if story mode was better woth more cutscens id gove bigger score
I was thinking that could be a fun mode for an update. Total chaos where you can pick whichever supers/ultimates/costumes you want for a character regardless of which arc it is. -Garrett
Not Budokai series, it’s the Tenkaichi series? There was a series before Budokai Tenkaichi called Budokai and that’s a 2d fighter with 3d mechanics like fighterz, so when referring to the series for future reference it’s the Tenkaichi series
Yeah, I’m referring to Tenkaichi primarily, but also Budokai from 2002 on PS2. I get the differences, but those games are synonymous from my youth. 🤙 -Garrett
My biggest gripe that really is frustrating with this game is how every max charge Ult always hits. It cuts into a whole cut scene and you can’t even block if your even in play you have to hold down the button prior. I HOPE THEY FIX THIS. Cause ults damn near kill you 99% of the time.
If you have enough distance from an opponent, you can dodge their ult, most of them at least, if you attempt to dodge to the left or right. I usually spam those buttons while the animation is happening and I USUALLY dodge it. Also, if your ult is also charged and you time it right, you can launch yours and it’ll clash with theirs, resulting in a QTE. If you win the QTE, your ult overpowers theirs. Hope that helps! -Garrett
@@COGConnected well I was pretty far away from Beerus and was charging and he just pops his ult which resulted in a cut screen of him doing it and it chunks my health all the way down even tho I was holding down the block button right after he popped it. I find that kind of bullshit imo.
You absolutely can escape most blasts unless your opponent sets you up, try dashing sideways with X, using R2+L1 for a quick rise or just timing your block to vanish which also works even if your knocked back also if you have the Ki, assualt vanishes can move you out of the way but need to be timed at long range 👌
Trunks is my favorite. Every version of him. I’m a bit vanilla in that all the Saiyans are my preference, but there are so many fun characters apart from them. -Garrett
Dont worry I highly doubt this game is actually running at 4k on the ps5, as even with a 4080. I'm running at 70% of 4k. Or 1,512p to keep a steady 60fps throughout the whole game.
I'm having so much fun with this game. Hope to hear your thoughts if you've jumped in. -Garrett

Man i sure wish we could get it today for early release
Surprised this video and channel don't have that much traffic, this review is great quality. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the support 🤘😎 -Garrett
Doc Harris hasn’t narrated Dragon Ball Z since the 90s. It would’ve been a big nostalgia trip for us millennials.

Great game for fighting fans
And for non-fighting fans?
@@canoftuna4535 I’m confused to? I guess he wants a game u create a character & progress

The fact that your voice sounds like TOM (Toonami host character) makes this review perfect 😂
Thanks for stopping by 🫡 -Garrett
Bro I was thinking the same thing about them having Doc Harris's voice in the game. RIP to our childhood GOAT!

In my opinion... DBSZ is the BEST ANIME GAME OF ALL TIME WITHOUT QUESTION!
Agreed, just hope they some quality of life updates, as annoying as it is. It doesn't change my view on the game

Haha I wondered if that might happen. Figured better to address it just in case.

I told myself ill never pay 80 euros for game. Yet... yesterday i did xD first game i ever preordered.
et ioks good as hell
You're not intermediate-advanced if you struggled against Ozaru Vegeta...
I’m having a good time winning most matches online 😏🤷♂️ but I’m no pro, that’s for sure. Thanks for checking out the review! -Garrett
@@COGConnected yeah, games bloated with newcomers to the series, which is a good thing!
Agree with you on the review, amazing game so far.
I'm probably the only disappointed fan after a few hours of finally playing the game today.....
It feels like tenkaichi 1 to me. Sort of bareboned
This games deleted my daya twice by iitself and im pissed now ngl
On ps5? Like all of your data is corrupt in general?
@@stevencarleton7224xbox, though I hear ps happens too & all gone as in it starts from the Goku v Vegeta tutorial
