BRIANNA, from New York, has credited becoming a mother and the Covid-19 pandemic for helping her to lose 130lbs and become the best version of herself. Brianna has spent the last year getting fit and healthy after having a “lightbulb moment” after the birth of her daughter in late 2019. Brianna, who at her heaviest weighed 281lbs, has lost 130lbs in a year where the world shut down due to the Coronavirus. Brianna told Truly: “The pandemic helped me reset because I had more time to reflect and make changes.”

@@samijohnson5152 I cut out any sweet drinks. Even fruit juices. I only consume water at it's purest when i'm thirsty. Did that for a year, no cheating. Also, i eat carbs 2 days a week (Sturday and Sunday) the rest of the week is No Carbs, No Sugar. Then there's exercise. Nothing too crazy, just walking alot and occasionally i go to the gym. But i try not to use my car if the distance isn't too long

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! You go girl!! Inspirational to the MAX!! I lost 100lbs in one year 2 years ago but I stopped there due to my health. (I've broken my back twice) I'm at 218lbs now and want to get down to 150lbs. (I was originally 410lbs! I gained a ton of weight after my back injuries and I haven't had gastric bypass!) Maybe...just maybe I can do it in another year!! Fingers crossed!!🤞

@@Calejandre138 I eat a ton of fresh veggies and fruit. I eat chicken, pork and tofu but no red meat. Most importantly I eat. I had gotten into a starvation mode where I only ate once a day and that was horrible my metabolism. I also walk. With my back I can't do much in the gym but walking and swimming is great. I walk upwards of seven miles a day.

@@ii-kk3ke I’m not sure what you mean however if it’s to do with weight loss see your doctor and a nutritionist. It’s very very hard to get going but if you really want it you will do the hard yards.

Idk if im actually doing good or not but im feeling great with the small progress I have been doing... I really liked her story bc I could relate so much i started to jog and exercise because a friend who invited me hiking, and I also told him o couldnt...
Some close friends just inspire us to be come a better version of ourselves. I hope everyone who has an issue with their body can find guidance on someone and grow better on the healthy aspects. :)
He invited me to Another hike and this time I accepted. I took the challenge and made it to the top after 5 hours of hiking...
Ill be doing the same hike every month trying to reduce the time each hike takes... Hoping next month to make it under 4 hours and so on...

You're doing just fine! At least you're doing something. Celebrate those 35lbs you've already lost and keep up the great work! It's the small goals that get you to the big goals.

You can see in the before photos she had a light inside of her that was just waiting for her to find her way. Her examples of documenting how she was feeling when wanting to eat is so smart. That’s something I am going to start doing as well. Good on her doing this for herself and her daughter. Loved this story.
I really appreciate her being honest about how being overweight makes your day to day life harder, get out of breath easily, tired etc. Respect to her for both opening up & for working hard to get healthier.

This young lady is truly inspiring. I love that she lost weight in a natural and healthy way. It is so helpful to have a friend, even if just one, that is motivating and supportive. Having a workout partner doesn't hurt either. 👍

There are so many resources on UA-cam for exercise. I’ve been doing zumba workouts on UA-cam and it’s been great! No gym needed to exercise!

@@kadzo6614 even if you can't do zumba, you can take more steps than you did yesterday. Even if it's just five or ten more steps. Trust me, it wasn't that long ago where I couldn't manage these workouts.

@@kadzo6614 I have Fibromyalgia and I'm in a wheelchair due to loss of mobility having nothing to do with the Fibro, and that is all the more reason that we need to move our bodies in some way. We can't just sit or lay around all of the time. Sure there are times the pain is so great you can't even lift your toothbrush without pain, but it isn't that intense 100% of the time.
I got all the way up to like 247 but am working ny way back down now at 228. These videos inspire me so much!!!❤
I'm on a similar journey now. Motivated by my 2 year old and 3 month old. Longevity is the main goal, because they deserve a healthy mom who plans to be around for them.

Losing the weight slowly allows the skin to retract back. She may have some loose skin but its probably minimal.
It's very little its important to do HIIT with resistance training, adding weights helps to tone up loose skin, and loosing weight at a moderate pace

You were beautiful either way for the record, I have a sneaking suspicion that it was your soul shining through. The fact that you did it for your daughter really is so telling of what kind of an amazing person you are. A semi-side note Chiquita comes across as a beautiful person too. Two awesome ladies!

This is so inspirational! She looks amazing and she seems so happy. It's nice to see that she is enjoying a healthier lifestyle and it isn't a chore to maintain. It's awesome she's helping her friend and that her friend encourages her with the hiking bag too etc. She truly is a great role model to her daughter. Also amazed that she doesn't have loose skin by the looks of things. Bonus! I lost 3 stone last year and I have 2 stone to go, this has definitely inspired me to get out of the plateu and shift the rest. Kudos to her! If she can change her life like this then so can the rest of us and that's a wonderful reminder! Xx

Not at all! As she said it was really hard on her physical health so that’s predominantly why she did it. Also to be there for her daughter.
That’s why she got good results. She was what I call “solid fat.” If you lose it slowly the skill will retract well.
@@staceywilliams1863 She also did a lot of exercise from the start and built muscle, so that 131# loss, was really about 151# since she packed on at least 20# of solid muscle to her frame. She did it right with her nutrition program.
That's probably because you are used to seeing morbidly obese people. She was overweight before, now she looks better & is much healthier.

I can relate so much! My goal is 150. I've lost 24 so far. Had my baby girl around the same time then had another one this year! My kids are my biggest reason. Just wanting to take control of my life again but I have so much more to look forward to. I needed this truly. Love.

As someone who is in recovery for a number of things, it always makes me so proud/happy to see mothers finding their inner strength to improve themselves, because the fact of the matter is, once you become a parent, your life isn't just yours anymore, it belongs just as much to your kids as well, and to do right by them, we gotta be able to do right by ourselves. Shes so beautiful. So inspiring and encouraging as I struggle with my weight and its really been a challenge. So I love how she embraces doing her workouts at home and locally without paying for a gym membership but I'd love to know what she's been eating though.
This just goes to show you that the 80% diet and 20% workout is true. You can still have a great body without going to the gym. Yes I do still think some type of resistance training need to be involve in order to shape your body and build muscle. Needless to say her diet is definitely on point to get those results from home workouts. Protein is key if you were to ask her I’m sure she will tell you to eat a protein focused diet.

What was her eating like and portions? Calories a day? I wish they would of talked about that.
I’m not the woman in the video but I’m two months into my weight loss journey. I have cut out ALL sugars and carbs (although I do allow myself one meal with some carbs on a Saturday). I also do intermittent fasting. So far I have lost 40 pounds in two months and I feel great. I have a long way to go but I know every day I’m closer to my goals.
I'm also not the woman in the video. I'm on my own journey. Ive lost 23lbs in 5 months. I've cut out nothing and eat in moderation. Will it take longer to get the weight off? Yes...but its also sustainable and could do this over the long-term. IMO, cutting out an entire macro group is unnecessary and most people who do end up gaining the weight back because its not sustainable. Unless you have a medical condition, eat all macros.

I was always skinny as a kid. I can’t imagine growing up heavy. Good job! I didn’t gain weigh until my mid 40s. Been working on getting back down from the 170s to around 145. But I’m in a 12. I’d like to be a 10/8. I exercise daily.
