WHAT!!! I have been dealing with this for like 1 year 2 months. CONNECT.. DISCONNECT... CONNECT... DISCONNECT ethernet plug in.... Tried going to switch my Wifi back on instead of Ethernet and realized it had no ON/OFF option... kept it like this until I was sick of it! THIS METHOD WORKS!!! ONLY THE BLUE TAPE! I also recommend, for neophytes like me, when you finally unscrew everything.... Pull up from bottom, then at the top, when all has been released, pull towards yourself, don't keep pulling up.... it'll break. Anyways, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WORKED!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Unbelievable!! This worked. 2 minutes to disconnect wires to the TV, 10 minutes to follow all the instructions given, and another 2 minutes to reconnect wires. Less than 15 minutes total and the Wi-Fi is back up and running.

This also works if your WIRED connection is having issues disconnecting periodically. Ours would not last through a film- always needed to restart the movie at least once. Still happened after I replaced the router. Replaced the cable, connected the cable to a secondary router I use for IoT devices, none helped. Wifi always says "turned off". I did a reset of all settings (annoying), wifi came back but no networks visible, and once connected via the wire, Wifi no longer available again. Finally took the time to do this fix and BOTH wired and wifi are now connected. Streaming apps respond faster, and have yet to see a "Disconnected" message. Unbelievable that LG's quality control would miss this. Thank you, thank you, thank you Edward in TX.

I tried that non-fix method ("settings": "general", of changing the location to Canada, then resetting the location to USA, then "automatic"etc.) several times without success but with plenty of frustration. That totally fixed my issue! My TV kept indicating that I had to turn WiFi on...but there was no way to do that. It would not populate the list of available networks. I followed your clear instructions...it was like magic. Thank you!!!

This worked on my LG 65SK9000PUA which was very easy since there was only a few screws on the bottom and only one hard to find where the power cord connects. Simply slit the blue bundling tape on cables and straightened visibly crimped cables and reassembled back. Thank you! I didn't need to replace the Wifi module that I bought on ebay for 20 bucks.

THIS WORKS! We have literally gone YEARS without our wi-fi working on our LG Smart TV because we figured it was just broken or would require an expensive repair technician. Thanks for the video! This fixed the WiFi issue for my LG 55UH615A-UC (Costco).
For any other LG 55UH615A-UC users watching/reading this, the only difference from the video for me was there were a few more screws to remove from the back panel and no IR sensor to move/adjust. Other than that, follow everything else in the video.

I wish I would have found this fix earlier. You have to search for wifi not connected on LG on YT. Once I finally did that there are a dozen or more videos showing this fix. Its a huge problem as some of those vids have over 1000 commits. Really back QC at LG.

Before you take off the back cover of the TV try banging on the back cover where the wifi is located. I did this and it worked for me.
Gotta comment and say thank, i came across this video a while back and thought "no way the fix is this simple" got tired of having to connect my console or pc to my tv to stream, and sure enough its as easy as removing some tape, thank you for your help!

Had exactly this issue over last couple of months and could not resolve it trying all sort of nonsense with power off power on reset to factory etc etc, Probably spent 8 hrs total with no success. I had given up and was forced to use a spotty wired Ethernet. Found this video this morning followed along and I now have wireless access on my TV though I still don't know how this fix actually works...but it does. Many thanks!

Thank you thank you thank you. We have been dealing with this issue since we got the TV 6 months ago. LG has been no help. Wifi never stayed on for more than 30 minutes, it has now been on for over 3 hours with no dropping. Who knew that the fix was this simple.

Thanks for the tutorial! IT FIXED MINE! I watched your video and a few others, then plotted out a time to try when I wouldn't be rushed. Opened the back, cut blue tapes, straightened ribbon cables, and VOILA. It found my wifi immediately and my 5 yr old LG is streaming again. Thank you so much. This was really easy.

I'm thinking with the ribbons all twisted, crimped etc.. it probably conducts more heat. And when you have heat in electronics you have trouble. Lots of it. Which accounts for some able to use tv for awhile then it will fail after some time. Once the TV heats up then the WIFI fails. This just happened to a second TV. But I applied the fix and it worked. Done this on two TV's now. This is a huge problem for LG that seems to be unresolved. I would not buy another that is for sure.

Hello, I think the problem is something else but very close :). No taped or crimmped cables, just tarnished contacts. It is true that just wiggling the cables CAN be enough, but in the next case, try to remove and insert the plug and this will be enough for the contact to "refresh". It is best to clean the plug and socket with an electronics cleaning liquid or some solvent. I did that, and it worked (without cutting tape) so.. good luck!

This is troubling. Are you saying this happened to a 3 year old LG TV? Because I just fixed two LG's doing this but they were manufactured in 2017 and 2018. That is 6 and 7 years old. But yours was built in 2021? I figured they would have fixed the issue by now. LG is hopeless. I'm starting to think even the new ones sold today are still knackered.

Why does this work!? It fixed my tv but I dont understand how just separating those wires would do it. The connections were all secure, so it doesn't make sense to me but I cant deny that it somehow works!
The only thing that worked!! It was a pain since mine is an older 65” lifting etc. but thank you the other videos I’ve watched on resets did nothing 😫 good stuff.

i wasn't able to remove the backcover because the wall mount screws are too tight. What I did was remove the plate that covers the IR and power button and then jiggle the wires. Alas! It works!
