      Same problem. I only use mine with Hulu and I was blaming them for the problem. They credited my account for the inconvenience. Now I feel bad. 🥺 Hopefully this resolves it but I won't know until tomorrow.

    Someone give this guy a medal! I've been trying to figure out how to fix this for my parents for over a year now and nothing LG provides is helpful. This fixed the issue immediately. The words thank you are not enough!

      Don't hold your breath, it only works for a short while. You will need to change your wifi clip/board.

    This is a golden nugget - the most useful fix I've applied for a long time and it's saved an indeterminable amount of ballache. Just switched from using a rock solid ethernet connection to WiFi due to a change in my router position and it does indeed work like a charm. Thank you very much.

      I moved my router not too long ago... I don't remember if this started around the same time... hmm.
      My phone and laptop work fine still
      And don't show any less of a signal

    Yes this works. I hardly ever leave comments but this works. I went weeks of trying to fix this. Had my LG tV for a year and didn’t start having problems until I updated the software. Thank you so much. I waited two days before posting to make sure it works and I’m back today saying no problems since I followed your steps.

    You are a genius. All of a sudden I couldn't connect my iphone to my LG TV via airplay. My tv no longer came up as an option on my phone. To troubleshoot, I would look to make sure my LG TV was connected to the internet and it wasn't - odd. So then I would connect it, and my phone still couldn't find the LG tv signal so I could launch apple tv via airplay. Then I would double check LG tv connection and I would see that I was no longer connected to the internet - even though I just connected it!! I did the steps on your video - a crazy path but easy to follow, then connected my LG TV to the internet, then I shut my phone off and on, and the tv off and on, and low and behold - the airplay app finally recognized my LG TV. I am now back to watching Ted Lasso from my phone on my LG TV. Thank you!!

    I hope this works. I’ve suddenly had the LG TV that I’ve had for 3 years drop internet connection. I would reset factory the tv each time which was a major pain. Finally decided to leave the TV on all night once it connected so kids would have access in the morning. I just did your suggestion and it worked!! Thank you!!

    Sending thanks from Australia 3 years later. We had placed numerous calls for assistance to our internet provider, hours on the phone to call centres in South Africa and Malaysia and the best we could achieve was a temporary reconnection until the next time. Some tense moments between husband and wife but now peace will reign once again! Thanks so much.

    I was convinced Cox was running me around in circles, it's not just WiFi that disconnects, the wired connection would drop too. I actually built two new cables, took them in to work, certified them to Cat 6a, and brought them home, along with certified Cat 6 & 5e cables, just to absolutely eliminate the wire as a possibility.
    Then your video popped up in my feed, less than 5 minutes later, as far as I can tell, the problem was solved. It's been stable for a couple of hours now, we're keeping our fingers crossed, but I am optimistic for the first time in months.
    Thank you, you have made my life better. Now if you can just come up with as easy a fix for my OTA antenna....

    Thankyou. You just saved me from throwing my remote control at the TV in anger. Turned it on to see it had disconnected from the WiFi and whenever I tried to reconnect it just kept showing an error. A quick Google and I find this video.. and it worked perfectly!

    When I had this problem, I unplugged power to my TV for a minute, then I turned it back on for the quick and temporary fix. I simply had to do this after following the instructions in this video. Problem is now resolved! Thanks so much for this. GEEEEEZ!!!! LG - apply a fix to your TVs!

    Wow! You've just fixed my TV here in England. I have a fast internet connection, my TV, which uses wireless, would buffer every 20 seconds or so. I figured it was a physical issue with the wireless receiver.
    I tried your suggestion with little to no hope, seemed like a long shot, but it blummin worked!!

    Thank you sir - there evidently is still not a patch but you helped me out! I have a new LG Stand By Me and every time it rains, I lose my signal even though I have full bars and all my other devices work fine. I hope its okay that I broke the process down for LG Stand By Me Users: Gear>All Settings>General>System>Location>LG Service Country> Take off "Set Automatically & Change from YOUR Country > Answer Yes, Allow Restart> Repeat the above mentioned steps until you get to YOUR COUNTRY > Set YOUR COUNTRY but DO NOT Leave on "SET AUTOMATICALLY" > Answer Yes, Allow Restart.

      I set “quick start” to off, and it is working. Not sure what is the relationship wi fi and quick start, but it is working.

    I've had this tv for over 3 years and this problem kept messing with me to the point where I have to go to another room to watch any streaming service (1st world problems, whatever). I tried messing with the settings per lg's recommendations and nothing worked. I dont know why it took me this long to find this video. Everything is working perfectly now. Thank you very much.

    Called LG about this wifi problem and they acknowledged it is a faulty wire connector from the wifi module to the TV. They paid for a repairman to come and fix it by replacing the wire. 10 minute fix.

    ugh, tried this and it's not helping. 😭Also have tried the unplugging, turning off, holding the power button for 30 sec, etc etc. Great advice and helps for a few minutes, but my tv is at the point where it's doing this every few minutes - SO annoying. The tv is only a 2019 but has been doing this from the beginning, just randomly every few months for a couple of weeks at a time. Now it's constant. I hate the thought of having to buy a new tv this soon. How has LG not done a recall or offered proper fixes to this obviously common issue we're all having? grrrr! thank you for your help on this, though, seems to have worked for many people! 💙

    I have two LG TVs, one had a wifi dropout issue the last few weeks and the other didn't. I've changed every config option on the router and on the TV, and done full factory resets on both but nothing fixed it.
    I then watched this video and thought "no way that actually works, why would setting the services country manually have anything to do with wifi?", but I tried it anyway as I've tried everything else. Like all the other commenters have said, this fully fixed the problem! I've no idea why or how but it works. LG need to patch this bizarre bug!!
    Thanks for posting this video, I was ready to throw the TV out of the window!

      @@Soupcan13 Update: It did not fix my issue. For what it's worth, I have an LG CX 77". I've tried hardwired straight to the TV, bypassing the stock Nic by using a USB one, and wifi. My router is just below the TV and tends to get the best speeds (even better than ethernet). I'm about 5 mins away from ordering an Apple TV 4K and never thinking about this again.

    We have been fighting this network drop issue for 5 years or so and hope this works. Thanks for sharing a solution that worked for your tv with those looking for one.     wow! I've owned my tv for 3 years. and this "Unknown Device is Disconnected pop-up" came coming on. He fixed it! I have no idea how it started, but he figured it out. thank you. 6/2023. LG TV. The television was always working, but that popup was messing with me. LOL

    following up to the follow up. 2 years later still working fine. I would say 1/20 times turning on the tv the wifi won't connect and turning the tv off and on again reconnects it. Thanks to everyone letting me know it worked/didn't work. I had no idea that many people would be looking for this fix! I'm jazzed it helped alot of folks and for the people it didnt Im sorry I wish I could give you more advice

    Dude, thank you! Had a Panasonic plasma TV for 15 years and never had issues with it. I still own it, great TV. 3 years into my LG Oled and this started happening and I was a tad upset. Relieved and thankful to you! Whew…

    This has been happening to me soooo much lately and it's driving my crazy.
    I contacted LG and they said they need to send someone out to check the wifi card inside the TV.
    Spoke with the shop I purchased it from and they said it is an ongoing issue but across all brands of TV'S. But advised to place the Ethernet cable in to the back of the TV to hardware your internet to the TV.
    Have done that and so far all is well. Will report back if anything changes.
    But am feeling all your frustrations. Even the LG guy said he has had multiple calls regarding this issue

    Good video and I hope it works for most people. However I found that my LG smart tv first started showing the wifi off error message and then started telling me that the LAN connection was not connected. I searched the LG site and found a recommendation to go into settings and TURN OFF Quick Start in General settings. I did that and now have no problem with LAN recognition AND my wifi finds numerous wifi networks. Hope this helps those for which the video does not work.

    Can't believe this actually worked! We've been using a playstation to watch all of our streaming services for 2+ years becasue of this issue,a nd I decided to try and watch on the regular tv and this was the only trick to work even after restarting! Thank you

      What is more annoying is that LG never said anything, and when I contact them they asked 100-300$ for fixing it…

    Well, tried this a few times and it didn’t work for me. Brand new (Nov. 2021) LG TV from Costco. Whole evening wasted. It’s so frustrating that there are 84,000 views on this video alone, and LG still hasn’t fixed this issue. Looks like we’ll be a TCL/Samsung family from now on.

      Didn’t work for me either. My remote control also doesn’t work properly when the internet drops out. I have the magic remote. Thought it was my internet provider, they done a fix and it started working again. But next morning the same issue happened. I’ve had my TV for 4yrs and this has recently started happening. LG are saying it’s some chip thing in the TV that could have possibly blown and I need to pay $200 for a tech to come and have a Look at it! Pfft!!

      Same here it was working properly
      then suddenly 3 months later it stopped.
      I bought mine back in 2018, all new.
      To this day I'm still looking on youtube
      if someone has found a way to fix this
      weird internet glitch.

      My LG was doing the same thing, I fixed it by changing the wifi module! Took the tv back off and bought a wifi module with the same part number for £11 off eBay. Worth a try. If not a firetv stick works to get around the problem.

    My tv kept doing that and it also wouldn't let me connect to my wifi without using wps for a year now. after i used this method it let me type my password to connect again and no problems. Thank you so so much your a lifesaver

    My LG TV is a 2021 so the menus are a little different but the fix still worked. I had no problems for almost a year and then the TV couldn't find the Internet. Everything else in the house was still fine so I knew it was a TV problem, and this trick fixed it. Thank yo so much!

    I just got sick of seeing "Internet connection lost" message every 10 min. It never interrupted watching streaming video in 4k, but it was an eye sore for both LAN and wifi. Thank you. Have not seen it since.

    I just purchased an LG a few days ago, after my TCL Roku blacked out on me only after a year. The salesman said LG TVs are top of the line. Had I not watched this video, this thing was on it's way back to the store.

    So I was having this issue as well as getting a message Wi-Fi is turned off. I tried this fix and it worked for a short amount of time (couple of months). It seems that the another issue could be the wi-fi module in the back of the TV can get dusty and cause connection issues. You can either get someone to do this or do it yourself, but if you open the back of the TV and disconnect the wi-fi module and clean it with a small brush (something that wont ruin electronics) and clean the connectors it should fix the issue. I have had my TV for 3 years and since its mounted the dust accumulates. WARNING: Do this at your own risk, I am not an expert of any kind but it worked for me.

      I'm glad to hear that dust could be an issue. I'm at my absolute wits end with this tv. I'm trying the fix in the video first, but if this doesn't work, hopefully that will.

      @@marimartinez4607 Unfortunately, the trick that I watched in this video did not help me at all. However, I kept looking into it, and discovered that there is a common manufacturing error where they crimp the ribbon cable of the wifi module, and that can cause issues as well. You will need to open the tv up, and flatten out the cable as best as possible, being VERY careful not to pull the ribbon cable out of the module, then just tape it back down. There is some blue tape that holds that cables together, that can be carefully cut off to make uncrimping it easier. It's not hard to do, just takes some patience. Since I did that, I have not had any issues with it not finding my wifi signal. Hope this helps, let me know if there is anything else i can do.

      @@Wolfchant17 this is ridiculous to all those reading this do not try it there is no technical nor common sense approach here. Seems that you're unplugging the tv in the process and that is what is fixing the problem, unplugging is the same as rebooting a laptop and that will usually solve the problem (yes the internet side of your TV is a computer)

    Bro. Honestly LG owe you money for this. 100% fixed and nothing “official” helped. It did hiccup once for a second after this, but then kicked back on and has been fine since. I will also add my menus aren’t the same. Maybe I have a newer version but it was settings>general>system>locations and it did not ask me to reset the tv but I did so manually anyway.     FIXED Try this method…. Settings, all settings, general, additional settings and turn off quick start so the button is then grey. Hope this helps ❤ it’s definitely sorted my 65” LG out

    Thanks Man...This loss of internet connection has been happening sporadically since I bought the TV and it is a PITA!...It's a bummer, cuz other than that issue I love my LG...the picture is da bomb!...I think the best out there...I just followed your instructions after it lost WIFI again...and it started right up connected!!...Hallelujah! 😍🤞🤞

    After making the location adjustment, It was fine for less than 24 hours but then it started disconnecting and I’ve tried LITERALLY everything. Even had the tv unplugged for an hour. Still can’t get an internet connection. One side feels like crying right now, the other wants to grab this fukking tv go outside my door and chuck it a far as I can down the stairs . I’m passed frustrated at this point.

      There's a video of a guy removing the back cover, unscrewing the wifi module and spraying compressed air etc to remove all dust from the pins, then reinstalling. Tried that yet?

      I hear you Mark. My LG has just started to have Wifi dropouts constantly. Changing location vids don't work. Unplugging TV then modem will get streaming working, but after a short while, wifi drops out. I feel the only method that will fix this is by taking back off and cleaning or replacing wifi module vid on UA-cam. Haven't done this yet. This is bull shit by LG

      @@tonypeake467 I feel your pain. Had LG come out about 6mos ago. Went through hell taking it off the wall so the wifi dropping issue could be looked at. Technician shows up and the POS worked flawlessly. Ran diagnostic and wifi module was good so he regrounded it since the back was off. Put it back on the wall and now 6mos later, it's doing the same crap again and now it's out of warranty. I'll never buy another LG TV again. This is mental torture.

    Okay.. My tv a couple months started to do that... It will drop the internet connection and tell me to turn it on but won't have the button for me to turn it on... Like watching it, it turns itself off an on repeatedly causing it to not stay connected... I've tried what the video suggested it worked 1 time and never again... I've tried the whole unplugging it for 30 seconds (sometimes longer) and plugging it back in and again only worked 1 time... It does this literally EVERY DAY ALL DAY making it that I can't use it for literally anything... I'm about to chuck it off my balcony... Does anyone know how to fix it permanently?? Cause sometimes it will be okay for a bit then halfway through a movie will start doing it and it's really frustrating me now 😭

    This was a great video. Unplugging your TV will also work. Essentially what is happening is you are performing a true restart of your TV to clear the memory. Turning off your TV really isn’t a full turn off. I love this example because my power plug is hard to get to and this makes it easier. Thanks.

    This seems to have completely fixed my buffering issues. TV responds faster now to internet content, and I have not heard the hard drive buffer noise sense I updated the settings that you suggested. That noise has been annoying me when I watch internet streaming on my 65" LG OLED CX series TV for the last couple of years. WOW I think it is now fixed.... THANK YOU

    Man, I'm getting this "no signal" message when I turn on my tv, randomly. But I unplug then replug the HDMI from the cable box and it solves the issue until one day randomly, I turn on the tv and it happens again. I have internet, just the cable gives the "no signal". Anyone else have this problem?

      @@mikejohnson2173 It was the cable box itself. I received a new box that was defective. Cable company gave me a new hdmi but I already replaced it with the old defective box but not so sure if that could be the reason. Hope this helps Mike.

We have about 30 countries to choose from in Location Services so I switched to France before switching back to U.K. I haven’t lost wi fi yet since I tried your fix, so fingers crossed.     OMG, it worked! I almost was crazy enough to think about taking the back off and adjusting wiring and cleaning a part shown on another fix up video.     Thanks! This video saved me hours of debugging. The location setting is the main problem, indeed, but for me, it was the ZIP code that had a dash on it (I'm from Brazil). Changing back and forth from other do Brazil did not solve the issue but editing the zip code did. Thanks!

      2:51 Tried this and didnt work. It turns out the most common widespread problem for these LG tv's saying 'wifi not found or connected' is the wifi module being kinked or having dust. (There's lots of blogs and videos on hiw to clean it) I took off the back of mine, blew some compressed air and it worked like a charm.
