A great video but it doesn't answer one thing: Do these TVs (I'm looking at the UQ91) have a 'wake up timer', so it can go from standyby to a TV channel, please? I have an existing Samsung that does, but their new ones don't,so this restricts which TV to buy next. Thanks.
I bought c2 55 inch 3 months, accessed almost allof the menu, but i didnt know i can access host diagnostic information from the remote, thanks a ton for this useful video
I was able to find signal strength level in menu using this video when using antenna for broadcast tv. Go to settings, general, channels then select first drop down in channels without selecting it (just highlight it) and press number one on remote five times like he said in this video and then you can see the signal strength of selected channel....
@@TheReviewFella Maybe you can help me with another issue... I am using an ethernet cable for input. When I power up I get a message that indicates 'no input'. When I hit "Home", then it sees my input and everything works great. I can't find anything that allows me to select 'ethernet' as input. This is just an irritation but I would like to get it 'right'.
On my C1 if I go to All Settings, then General, then Network, I can turn off WiFi and the TV defaults to the plugged in Ethernet input. The other thing to note is that your TV might take a short while to gain an IP address from your internet provider and that’s why there is no immediate network connection. Mine takes a minute or so to connect to the internet on start up.
Thanks for that. Even money it's your second suggestion as "Network" shows "Connected to ethernet" and "WIFI off". But I did find a shade-tree but acceptable solution as I fool around with Arduino Microprocessors a bit so i installed one near the TV that reads the remote IR signals. When it sees the code for "Power on" I wait 3 seconds then send the IR "Home" command. Now I get the home screen in less than four seconds and other than a small grey box with "2-1" on the left and "DTV" and "NO INFORMATION" on the right side (no idea what any of that means), momentarily shows, I am getting pretty much what I wanted... power up and showing the home screen with a single button push on the remote. Not quite following your question as surely if you cast to your TV it’s secure? And on your network? I can’t see how anyone can cast from or to your devices through a wall on a different network?
I have a 77 lg b4 Oled is there a way to change the gamma in Dolby vision it’s grayed out to 2.2 can I change that in one of these settings or can I do that if I order the service remote?
I don’t think so although I’ve never tried to do that with the service remote. Watching Dolby Vision content will automatically put the TV into Dolby Vision mode, which is a preset designed to show the content at its best. Similar to the way Movie Mode disables many settings to show content as the creator intended.
Thanks for the great video. I have the LG C3 48 inch TV which looks similar to yours. When watching video (Netflix or Tablo recordings) tapping the control circle (LG Magic remote) left or right will rewind or forward the video ten seconds each tap. thk for the video. is it possible to install android pak on a LG WebOS TV? Also, is it possible to dissable the TV tuner (each time i switch on the TV, i have an error message because i don't use radio frequency tv, i use only internet TV)?
Hi, never tried to install Android pak? Third party apps can be installed via a USB drive if compatible. I don't think you could disable the TV tuner. The error message is probably because the TV is looking for a valid input on start up. Do you not have any HDMI devices connected? If you do you could set the HDMI port as priority on start up?
Thanks a lot. I own an older LG model and i usually switch off the screen while listening to music (youtube etc). I wonder if there is a way to pin the whole screen deactivation process on the settings quick menu as a shortcut for easy access, replacing a default existing shortcut. @@TheReviewFella Thanks for your answer, but I am referring to the clock, fireworks and weather data that appear when the TV understands that there is inactive. Even LG tech support people couldn't tell you how to turn this thing off.

I was wondering how to verify the refresh rate so thanks for that. Sometimes I think new technology goes backwards though. On my previous LG LB6500, if you simply pressed the wheel on the magic remote just once, you could get resolution, refresh rate and the codecs used for the video and audio streams. I had hoped for the same thing on my new C4 but the standard menus only appear to show the incoming resolution on each HDMI input source.
I’m in the US-my G2 does not show Programs in General menu. The C2 you used listed Programmes after Family settings. On my G2 Programs does not exist-is there another way to access the Host Diagnostics screen? Thanks
The C2 and G2 share the same processor and webOS version so the options should match. The only thing I can think of is to turn off any Intelligent modes which might make some menu options unavailable. Make sure your TV has the latest software/firmware downloaded. Failing that you could factory reset the TV and see if the default settings show the options you’re looking for. I actually update very little in my TV settings.

Thank for the video, I have a LG TV (55UR8050PSB). There is a satellite socket for connecting the TV to satellite dish/cable in the rear of it but it the tuning menu, I can only find DTV program search option. Is there any way to activate built-in satellite receiver on it?
I don’t think there is a built in satellite receiver? You may have built in tuners? You’ll need to connect an appropriate device, dish or aerial to receive external content like that or a cable box for cable TV, or a firestick/Chromecast etc for streaming content.
But I'm looking for a way to watch satellite channels on my TV by connecting the LNB directly to the TV. I don't want to buy a satellite receiver separately and connect it to the TV using HDMI cable.
Do you know how to pair a BT tv remote to new LG tv’s please so I can operate volume and standby from the BT remote. I was able to do this on my previous Panasonic tv but am struggling with the new LG, cheers
Never done it but a quick Googling seems to suggest pressing Home and 9 on your remote to pair it to the TV. If that doesn’t work you might have to use your TV remote and BT remote separately.
I have a LG 55" UHD TV 55UQ7000 - so not o led but maybe you know how to get rid of the start menu where is show all the different channel I can use - so I cannot change channel the first 10 second because it want to show some option, and this is annoying, Regards Erik
Hi, I haven’t got that TV so I can’t test it, but I thought it used the same webOS version. If it does then you should be able to access all the menus as in the video.
Possibly going to the channel of the device that starts up first. On my UA-cam channel I have a video on how to set different HDMI ports as priority if they would help.
Press the button with the picture of a cog on your remote. This brings up some options on the left. Then choose ‘All Settings.’ You can change simple settings such as picture mode and sound, also brightness etc from these options.
Hi I am helping an elder couple set up their new LG 55QNED80 TV. They find all of the screen options and apps to be very confusing and would like to disable them all. They just want to watch their TV channels available from their local cable company. Is there a way to accomplish this?
The problem is the TV will often default to the device that starts the quickest. And a cable TV box could take a couple of minutes to fire up. So not turning that box off, just leaving it on standby might work. I also have a video on how to set HDMI1 as the priority on start up. But again the TV might boot first to the app screen because it started quicker.
So one thing I want to do, on the Home Screen, it has the “recent input” box as the first option in a row, I can’t access below this without brushing over it, and in doing so, it turns on my ps5 everytime. I don’t want to disable them talking to each other, I love that, just want to move that recent input box or remove it all together to I can navigate the home screen without turning it on everytime I try to go to the menus below
Ports and tuners can usually be accessed via the change input button on the remote (it’s the button under the channel up/down buttons on my C1 remote). If you have something plugged in and working it should be accessible there?
First I did was that- I pressed Input button but on the screen apear only LiveTv, and ports that I use for external receivers. There is no SAT chanel symbol.
How do I get that menu to come up on the RIGHT side of the screen? Advanced menu that allows you to select time durations for the screen saver. I haven’t been able to find it and just keep going to regular settings display general screen saver on/off The menu popped up on the right when I did it now I can’t remember how to get it to show up.
@TheReviewFella thank you for this to the point video. I use HDMI to my PC but when I press "Mute x3" the "Auto Power Sync" setting is greyed out and I am unable to toggle it. Do you know why this might be?
That TV might not have the same version of webOS as the TV in the video. I’ve only tested the menu settings on the C1, C2 and possibly C3. I’ve not tried the B2, sorry.
Thank you for some great videos and guides. Do you know if there is a way for an LG TV to always start up on Live TV channel 1? If the TV is turned off on channel 50, when it is turned on again, it should start up on Live TV channel 1. I can get the TV to start up on Live TV every time, but not from channel 1.

Can only confirm the Host Diagnostics works on LG OLED CX (OLED65CX5LB - latest firmware) series(?) "Programmes Tuning & Settings" is under "Programmes" and not "General" > then the 1 x 5 presses, unless I'm doing it wrong none of the other "shortcuts" seem to work on the this model/series.
Is there a way to make the picture display in native resolution on an LG TV? For example, the TV is 1080p but the signal is 720p. Is there a way to display 720p in 1:1 pixel with a black border around the image? I've seen a Sharp TV that could do that.
I received my LG OLED C2 TV yesterday and I can't find how to do a channel check and I can't get live TV to work. Keeps going too LG channels. Any advice for a good video for understanding connections and inputs. I can't get a lot of this to work. I pushed the mute button 3 times and nothing worked (1:41)
Just so people know, most of these menus work on most modern LG tvs, not just the OLEDs. I have a budget 65 inch lg tv I picked up from walmart and all of these worked except the last one
Hello! I have a lg 32 lq63006la hdr tv. For the Xbox series s console, it does not offer an hdr setting, instead it remains the sdr when I want to set it in the TV settings. Auto hdr is turned on in the xbox. Maybe there is a solution for this?
Hi, I don’t touch any HDR settings when playing my PS5. The TV auto selects the correct HDR mode. You shouldn’t need to change anything for your Xbox. HDR games will be auto detected by the TV.
Your model TV supports 4K and HDR. You shouldn’t have to change any settings. Make sure you are using the original or a good quality HDMI cable. The only settings you might need to change are on the console but I don’t have the Xbox so can’t check that for you. I don’t change any settings for gaming, the TV automatically displays HDR content.
The audio on bluetooth stereo system is very low for all OTT apps except UA-cam and DTH. I tried using tv speaker with bluetooth simultaneously option. It gets loud but there is significant delay even after the manual tuning option. The settings dont stay even after making delay to 0. Is there a fix for this ? I dont find any volume settings for any OTT app.

Hi and thanks. As far as I’m aware the LG OLEDs have a timer and can wake up from standby or go to sleep at times set by you. Check with the store before buying as I know the C and G range does. Not tested the UQ91.
@@TheReviewFella Thanks very much for the info. Since they're from Amazon, I could return them, given the timer function is only really essential in one of the three rooms they'll be in, but it would be useful wherever I put them. I tried looking in the manuals online, but they didn't even mention any sort of timer, as far as I could see.
hi super tuto, i have a lg oled 48 c2 do you know how to install the play store apps on the TV? I can't find the "install unknown application" function like on the smartphone? thanks
Hi and thank you. I’m not sure you can on the LG TV. I think it may be locked down to only the compatible apps available through the apps option. You might be able to force it but it’s not something I’ve done.
I have a new OLED65C2PUA and understand there may be a setting in Hotel Mode to change the default HDMI port on power on (instead of the last port you were on when you powered off). I have not had sucess getting into Hotel mode on the newer TV. Any suggestions?
Very helpful video. I have 55”G1 and I’m not impressed with the sound delay. It’s way off and I can’t seem to find a way to fix it. Also, the sound is terrible. If you say loud explosions going on then everything else is drowned out. So if someone is speaking at the same time you can’t hear them until the explosions stop and then they are very loud and clear. It’s almost like the sound card has only one channel
Yes I've had a similar issue. You can try a sound bar which will often have a clear voice setting. Or change the TV sound mode from Standard to Clear Voice Pro (which is what I do), for the TV source. It's not perfect but does help.
You need a console or pc with hdmi 2.1/series x or ps5 or an rtx 3000 series and above no clue about 2000 series but nevermind you quickly have to tap 7 times on the green button you need vrr beeing active
Is possibly to change the 'Country Group' in a C1 TV after entering to the EZ Menu? I want to use the Google Assistant's capabilities but officially I can't in my area.
@@TheReviewFella Yes, but only to counties that also doesn't support the Google Assistant's capabilities. For example, The United States or any European country is not available in the list.
I see yes. I think this is locked down depending on model and region. I can’t see how that can be changed unless it can be in the service menu. But that’s not something I have used much. Sorry I can’t help.

Factory resetting should return the TV to the out of the box settings. If it isn’t and you are still having issues I’d talk to the store you bought it from or LG.
Thanks for the Vid. Since the remote control was featured, I want to whine about it's design. I have a c3 and it annoys the Hell out of me that the home button is right below the volume up/down. It is virtually impossible to change the volume in the dark without kicking it to Home....aaaarrrrrrgh! Love the pic though.
I have Programmes on my C1 so you’ve either changed something or it’s not available in your region for some reason. You could try to factory reset your TV to put it back to how it was when you bought it. Other than that I don’t know.
I’m in the UK so mine is a European model. But I don’t think there should be much difference. Most of my UA-cam channel audience are located in the USA and it’s not something that has been fed back to me often. You could also try turning off any AI settings you have first. Also turn the picture mode to something Standard. Or one of the Expert Modes. Other than what we’ve already discussed though I really don’t know (sorry).

Hello, I am looking for the developer menu? THANKS
Install the Developer Mode app on your TV from LG Content Store . Is that what you’re looking for?
Is it possible to change digital TV mode? ( Boardcasting type )My TV Lg43UQ80 is in Dvb-T2 mode I want to change to ISDB-T2 Is it posible?

Do you know how to pair a BT tv remote to new LG tv’s please so I can operate volume and standby from the BT remote.
I was able to do this on my previous Panasonic tv but am struggling with the new LG, cheers
Never done it but a quick Googling seems to suggest pressing Home and 9 on your remote to pair it to the TV. If that doesn’t work you might have to use your TV remote and BT remote separately.
Is there a way to see the quality of the picture you are watching, ie is it 720, 1080, 4K etc.. thanks
Not aware of that feature. Some streaming apps such as Netflix will allow you to see the quality you’re streaming. You can Google how to do that.

On mine, it's under All Settings>General>System>Additional Settings>Home Settings. Turn off "Home Auto Launch".
It was good if we could activate DTS
Such a cool video , will look at these in the morning
Thank you and good morning.
❤how can lg go to cable immediately when turned on without pressing hdmi or home
Possibly going to the channel of the device that starts up first. On my UA-cam channel I have a video on how to set different HDMI ports as priority if they would help.
Please help me! I am new to smart tvs and cannot find the basic “settings” menu on my LGOled42C?
Press the button with the picture of a cog on your remote. This brings up some options on the left. Then choose ‘All Settings.’ You can change simple settings such as picture mode and sound, also brightness etc from these options.
thx for this video👌🏻 we love the C2. Do you know a setting without starting up the webOs and apps ?
Hi and thanks. Try Settings, General, System, Additional Settings, Home Settings (Turn Home Auto Launch off). Does that help?
Yes ! It works 👌🏻
Thx.
You’re welcome.
Hi
I am helping an elder couple set up their new LG 55QNED80 TV.
But again the TV might boot first to the app screen because it started quicker.
very hlepful video. i have LG 43LJ550T...hlep open hotel mode..thanks

Always welcome advice. So Thanks again for sharing..

Can you make the tv brighter in that menu? For SDR
I have new LG nanoTV 55inc. I still don`t know how to switch on SAT programs??
What are SAT programs?
Satelite programs
Via S2 tuner
I tried to press green button 7 times on my lg c3 but nothing happened.
Is there another way to check the trasmission's refresh rate?
I’ll need to do an updated video and find the latest hidden menus.
how to know the size of nail for my LG TV mount? I need to buy a missing one.

@TheReviewFella thank you for this to the point video.
I use HDMI to my PC but when I press "Mute x3" the "Auto Power Sync" setting is greyed out and I am unable to toggle it.
Do you know why this might be?
Any way to get around the HDCP error when using HDMI Backlights ? Thanks
Not an issue I’m familiar with, sorry.
I have a B2. I do t have a "programs" option in my "general" menu. How would i get to this host diagnoatics menu?
That TV might not have the same version of webOS as the TV in the video. I’ve only tested the menu settings on the C1, C2 and possibly C3. I’ve not tried the B2, sorry.
Thank you for some great videos and guides.
Do you know if there is a way for an LG TV to always start up on Live TV channel 1? If the TV is turned off on channel 50, when it is turned on again, it should start up on Live TV channel 1.
I can get the TV to start up on Live TV every time, but not from channel 1.
Thanks. When you say live TV. What is your source? Cable box? Freeview? Satellite dish? Something else?

Can only confirm the Host Diagnostics works on LG OLED CX (OLED65CX5LB - latest firmware) series(?) "Programmes Tuning & Settings" is under "Programmes" and not "General" > then the 1 x 5 presses, unless I'm doing it wrong none of the other "shortcuts" seem to work on the this model/series.
Thanks for the info. They were tested on the C1 and C2 but different models and subsequent firmware updates may give different results.
Nice. Can i get KODI on LG tv?
I don’t think so unless you use an external box.

Is there a way to make the picture display in native resolution on an LG TV?
For example, the TV is 1080p but the signal is 720p. Is there a way to display 720p in 1:1 pixel with a black border around the image? I've seen a Sharp TV that could do that.
Have you tried changing the aspect ratio? That's the only thing I can think of might help?
Hi there. Does anyone know how to launch favorites for the TV channels?
Thanks
Welcome
I received my LG OLED C2 TV yesterday and I can't find how to do a channel check and I can't get live TV to work. Keeps going too LG channels. Any advice for a good video for understanding connections and inputs. I can't get a lot of this to work. I pushed the mute button 3 times and nothing worked (1:41)
What’s your input source? Cable TV? How do you watch live TV?
Just so people know, most of these menus work on most modern LG tvs, not just the OLEDs. I have a budget 65 inch lg tv I picked up from walmart and all of these worked except the last one
Thanks for the update.
Thanks! Hdr calibrating for games says the tv not supporting 4k hdr system. then what you wrote in the answer I have nothing to do?
Your model TV supports 4K and HDR. You shouldn’t have to change any settings. Make sure you are using the original or a good quality HDMI cable. The only settings you might need to change are on the console but I don’t have the Xbox so can’t check that for you. I don’t change any settings for gaming, the TV automatically displays HDR content.
Is there any why I can increase the defaulf refresh rate ? The TV seems to have a little lag while playing Netflix/Amazon. TIA.
Can I pause screen with screen mirroring please
Never tried it but I presume as long as you can pause the device you are mirroring there shouldn’t be an issue.
@@TheReviewFella ok thank you
The audio on bluetooth stereo system is very low for all OTT apps except UA-cam and DTH. I tried using tv speaker with bluetooth simultaneously option. I’ve yet to test that. The TV in the video is a C2.
The mute three times options should be regular options, especially the 'no signal image' as wallpaper is highly distracting, as also the LG logo.
Can I set the volume to a certain number so whenever I turn the tv on it’ll automatically be at a low setting???
Yes you can. Try this video: ua-cam.com/video/WzYmQL5w5cY/v-deo.html

It will certainly improve the look of SDR gaming. Not tried it with general SDR content.
@@TheReviewFella Just tried it on my C2 and wow. It’s a huge difference compared to the standard mode that my Nintendo switch supports

A great video but it doesn't answer one thing: Do these TVs (I'm looking at the UQ91) have a 'wake up timer', so it can go from standyby to a TV channel, please? I have an existing Samsung that does, but their new ones don't,so this restricts which TV to buy next. Thanks.
@@DVDfeverGames yes it does, i have one :) its in the settings :)
What is the “Universal Control” setup/function for?
I’m guessing it’s to set up a third party universal remote control. Never used it though.

Hi and thank you. I’m not sure you can on the LG TV. I think it may be locked down to only the compatible apps available through the apps option. You might be able to force it but it’s not something I’ve done.
How did you install BBC Iplayer?
It was available from the App Store at that time.

VRR mode doesn't by the green button work after the last software update, do you know any other options to make it work again?
Works on normal tv not apps. Or on a console with hdmi
You need a console or pc with hdmi 2.1/series x or ps5 or an rtx 3000 series and above no clue about 2000 series but nevermind you quickly have to tap 7 times on the green button you need vrr beeing active
