Excellent job guys nice car and great power…I have a 2014 touring sport automatic air to air supercharged on e85 that is all stock transmission and motor but I’ve been running between 570 whp and 590 whp and 455 to 475. Foot/lbs depending on flavor of fuel for close to 2 years with no issues and I hammer it. I just put in a quaife with 3.9 gears a few months back and will probably need to run Mickey Thompson on the rear and install a line lock as it shifts so fast I spin all the way through 3rd 😂 I wanted to say, Harry at z tuner has been one of best in the business for many years and he put a lovely tune on this vehicle and the torque curve is spot on with a trial ramping of power and I believe that has kept a lot of stress off the transmission. Next in line is that vr transmission swap but I would like 550 ft/lbs minimum…we shall see
wondering what's the cost of the transmission swap, and if you had no problems for 2 years with a min 570whp & 455 wheel torque why bother ? its really impressive that you didn't smoke the transmission within months.
Good question. The idea is like you said, I’ve pushed my good luck. I do cool my charge pipes with meth injection and we treat the car well so maybe that has helped. The red sport 400 transmission has been shown to hold 550 ft/lbs fairly safely and is beefier than the 370s native transmission. I plan to take the vr transmission beef up the torque converter and reinforce the valvebody and pray for the best 😂 iit should hold more reliably than what I have and let me run about 680whp as the stock block on the z has been shown to hold about 700hp. I may need new headers, researching that still. Will also get a lighter stronger flex plate to accompany it. Not sure if I’ll upgrade the drive shaft yet. Consider this is all a lesson in futility, with my current power my wife gets about 1800 miles out of her rear tires which are nitto 555rs so I’m replacing rears every 6 months. I run the g2s front as same tread pattern just in case it rains and for stability and they have little wear.
Iv got 2015 red auto z . And TCM went out and so I bought used one online and well the shifting is a little off . I think Nissan needs to reprogram it . Shifts to early and thump sound when it shifts. Only 50,000 miles on it.
you would not have to necessarily need to upgrade the transmission to the VR, it is something that we recommend to clients if they would like to have firmer shifts and can handle more then the stock vhr automatic transmission can handle.
Yes, as we offer a kit for the q50 on our website, which can be seen here: sohomotorsports.com/collections/infiniti-q50/products/soho-motorsports-q50-v2-a2a-lyte-supercharger-kit-vq37vhr

I only run e85 as well,,never run pump gas. Maybe that has helped with the longevity. 👍
Benjamin, I’m not sure of total swap cost yet…I’lll report when I do👍

You can have nissan reprogram it and see if that helps.
Also, ensure that the fluid is up to spec when the transmission is up to temperature.

When it comes to a newer 370z would this be nessary?? Like I have a 2020 370z with 40k miles on it. Would I also have to do this transmission swap?

How much power can the OEM transmission 2016 370Z nismo handle safety?
Its going to be torque related, we have seen the input shaft break on the transmission around 800 plus wheel
Nice guys ! $$$ ?
