That is really fast and healthy acceleration for 340 HP
It s not only 340 ps!!
I actually don't really agree. for 340hp at 1.5 tonnes this looks even kind of slow
@@zdx197I don't know where you draw this conclusion from personal experience? however i as a holder of 2 350 z can tell you with confidence that if it is only 340 it goes very well
I've seen "500hp"+ cars that don't reach the speeds this 340hp car did. @@zdx197
@@zdx197you are kiding right? Or you are just a Nissan hater, some corner speeds are realy good, and the acelaration os awesome for 340hp, you see the video? Are you sure?! 🤣
One tends to forget how strong these motors are. Very healthy pulls considering the power figure. Top speed and uphill section were frankly quite impressive. Good car.
Yeah they are nippy and pull well for NA. I wish they came with a higher displacement and around 370-380hp. Its achievable with mods.
VQ is all about top end.
Slow
@@Freddy_Confettiwe are awaiting your "better" lap, plz, thx
These V6 have a very high low rpm torque for their HP
Great to see a 370Z! Awesome lap! I have a time-attack 370Z and they're seriously fantastic, fun, competitive, reliable and affordable track cars AFTER the main issues have been addressed which are;
- Oil Temp (100% need at least a 34-row afternarket oil cooler, the oil will reach 140 deg celsius very quickly in stock form)
- Clutch Slave Cylinder (need to upgrade the OEM one as they are internal and very weak/prone to fail)
- Fuel Starve (the throttle can cut out at even 3/4 of a tank mid-corner or on corner-exit due to sloshing, so either top the tank up every couple of sessions or get the Radium anti-starve kit)
- LSD (the OEM Viscous LSD is fine for the street but on track it stops working as it uses fluid that easily overheats which causes it to act like an open differential. It isn't 100% necessary to upgrade but makes a massive difference on track)
In 2012 they fixed the problem with the fuel. So buy one from 2012-~
@@antomustaineno they didn't, even the new Z has the same fuel starve issue.
Yes “100% need a 34-row oil cooler” I tried a 33-row and didn’t work then tried a 35-row and the engine turned into lava and melted instantly to the center of the earth. 100% 34-row only! 😋
Wich LSD do you have and how you set it up?
I have a kaaz 1.5 at 80% on a 350z and he is really strong lock
@@Poulpicture Nice! I have a Quaife 1.5 👍
VQ37VHRs are glorious engines, just need a stout oil cooling system. VVEL system creates lots of heat and puts oil to the test
This is true I remember running my z hard in the canyons and the oil temp would make me uncomfortable to keep pushing it.
Drive a Soho Motorsports built 600hp one. They do an incredible job of doing the surrounding mods to support the car in full. Feels like a super car to ride in and stable!
All VQ37VHR's need an additional cooling if on a track even Nismo's. My old G37 begged me for it after my first outing. I would add an external oil cooler, and a bigger radiator with aux cooler.
I have oil cooler, radiator is on the list but when I drive I don't have an issue with coolant, I obviously don't/can't drive like Misha!
It's needed on the street too. 2013 G37 7AT owner.
Same with my V36 370gt
Big time needed, went to the track when I first got mine and bought an oil cooler the next day😂
Radiator does really well. Oil cooler, if it’s not a 34 row, I recommend that. I have a Setrab series 1 72 row and can still reach temps high enough to limit rpm after several minutes into a track session. I’m debating in running a twin 34 row in a series.
I think i would rather the rear view camera over the pedals camera. I know its cool to see mishas driving technique which is fantastic, but i feel like we are missing out on things going on behind the car. If you read this misha, maybe do a vote and see what everyone prefers. This is not a complaint, just an idea.
Either way, i will watch every video regardless. Misha is one of my favourite channels on youtube
Thats pretty fast for 340hp, wath a surprise, Awesome 🙂💪
Thats similar power to the Nismo but Nismo is heavier so they added minimal torque to negate that. I prefer the lighter GT but Nismo looks good
@@autodigitvlogs i agree, and yes, Nismo looks good, and sounds even better i think.
If ever there was a lap that should have had a rear view camera this was it.
I would much rather the rear view than the pedal cam... I don't see the point of it for the whole lap
@@mikeypv6excuse me I’ll gladly watch lap after lap of misha heel and toe the f•ck out those manuals around the ring. It’s not an easy thing to do, especially since they’re cars he hasn’t driven before.

Fit the vibratechnics gearbox mount and the gkteck bushes on the shifter and I promise it will transform the shift
Wish I'd known when I had one. Shifting is pretty awful from stock
I have the vibratechnics gearbox mount on this made an insane difference, I have gktech shifter springs to go on to try and get the shifter to behave better
Aghh ok I have done all of the above and the vibratechnics engine mounts and the shift on the stock shift is pretty slick now
Bushings on this car are key it's so softly bushed from factory good video though enjoyed it 💪

You love it don't you? I just imported one from Canada I've had it a month. Can't stop smiling while I drive
Those Porsche's and bmw's are king's they just dissappear😂

@NorthCamZ I had an M lite car (x4 m40i) and obviously being a crossover suv couldn't throw it around, but honestly it was a ton of fun to drive. Went through the rockies and had a ball in it. Plus the N55 along with N54 & B58 are superior engines to the V6 counterparts, boosted or not. Linear torque, efficiency and poise are beautiful. Also the noise and lessen vibrations. Once you go inline, it's hard to want a V6 again
A lot of the fake M cars as well don't have a wide body so you can't fit a decent amount of tire under that. At least the older ones that I was looking at. @@NorthCamZ
Love seeing 370z’s driven hard. Theyre more of GT cars in stock form but the potential for any type of show or performance is there.
That shifter should be illegal.
I really don't like the "rev hang" these cars have, but good video !
That’s due to the heavy flywheel, an aftermarket one changes that

As a G37 owner with the 7AT I love seeing this.

One of the best first mods when tracking 370z , nismo oil cooler
Subframe collars and a diff brace may fill in those gaps he mentioned. I have also a setrab 25 row thermo oil cooler that works wonders as well.

I would hope m3’s and M2’s with downforce are passing a 370z on coilovers
@@mattmasi303 must be embarrassing to be you
Car looks great and its quick for a little V6 pushing upwards of 340bhp, a couple more mods here and there. I did say 2 piece rotors front and rear to take away for unsprung weight. Some added coolers maybe better transmission fluid if it doesn't have it already. And it would be a beast for an N/A V6.
It's such a cool sounding V6.
Looks a solid 340bhp this does, no BS figures here unlike the so called 500bhp Audi a few videos back.
That guy was pathetic
Nice drive ! I have the same car with 360 hp remap , 20" rims and KW v3 i would like To test it in the nurburgring because with kw v3 setup it is awesome❤
Love the 370z content!
These things really are quite quick if you keep the rpm up, top end is great on them.
Would love to see an FBO 370z on here . Curious to see what he thinks of it
You look at the temp and then at your watch. MMMM not nervous at all.
Love the linear power of Toyota and Nissan's. It's there for Noob safety.
I was checking out my heart rate expecting it to be way north of 100, was around 70 iirc, don't think my eyes told my heart what was happening!
Ga zo door met de goede video's
everyone hates on the 3.7l vq but really price for performance (at least in the us dont know eu prices) its easily the best bang for ur buck. high reving good handling quick but not fast cars that are insanely fun to drive not to mention the reliability of these things and moddability
Really fast car!
Nice warm engine sound :)
Thanks Misha, now I miss my old 370Z even more 😂
What a car !
Smooooooooth power delivery
I'm just curious how Misha would compare the driving (handling) of 370Z to E46 M3 (modded to modded).
I think these cars are great value for performance and relatively simple in design.
Heavy machine!
It takes a lot of finesse to make the best bang for your buck sport road car into a serious racer. In a perfect world, the chassis and suspension could of been done better. But impressive. I plan on buying one soon.
miss rear cam 😢

Good video! I'm thinking to put a Bilstein B16 coilovers in my 350Z too. I see that they are competent with the right setup.
About that 370Z, it's fast to be an non nismo, remap and other goodies make the difference.
About all guys that say its heavy.. non sports car.. bla bla bla, don't care.
350Z/370Z are a good GT cars. They have sport characteristics but in they original form are more GT cars. However I think there is room for improvement.
They have a decent power. A good suspension/chassis setup would make a lot.
Weight is not diferent that other gt cars like M3 e46 and I don't see people cry about that.
I had a midnight blue 98 ws6. I miss it dearly. Would love to find a decent price on a Firehawk.
Adoro o 370Z simplesmente fantástico. 👌👏😍

I love this car
How long was the lap all-in-all?
what is that scraping noise in turns and stuff is he rubbing ?
Well looks like I'm turbo charging my 370Z ain't no way I'm getting passed like that 😅, no but seriously it was interesting to see what a modified 370Z could do, I have most of the mods he has plus a little bit more. My strategy was light weight and response. Also 2 things to note the transmission doesn't like to be rushed and neither does shifting the momentum of the car from left to right. (Makes one hell of drift car but more of a street car than a track car. You have to do so much to 370Z to make it a worth track weapon, (cooling, LSD, transmission, chassis compliance, a fuel starvation kit and weight reduction is all the 370Z needs to be an absolute track weapon
Yup, I have a radium surge tank in there fuel starvation did my head in, was a bit disappointed the car suffers from it you'd hope nissan would of addressed that!
Turbo is big bucks unless you diy. Supercharger already 12k fitted
@@eddie_r3236there's plenty of things Nissan could have addressed in the 14 years they made these.. the clutch slave cylinder is the most obvious example. Not to mention cooling
@@autodigitvlogs yeah it's a good Christmas present it sounds like to me 😅 I'll save up about $1000-1200 a month to reach that goal!
That rev hang tho
Sadly very true, fixed with a lightweight Flywheel
Moving a car weighing approx. 1600kg+ (according to EC guidelines) around the Nordschleife...
These are quite heavy. But at the same time there's a reason for that. Body is quite heavily reinforced so here comes the weight.
@@vvevvevvvv
You don't need a heavy chassis to meet high safety requirements.
Structural lightweight construction only uses more mass where it is necessary for strength reasons.
The reason the car is so heavy is
a) the size
b) the relative heavy engine (it is relatively easy to build a heavy engine with a lot of power) in order to be able to move the high mass quickly
c) the heavy chassis and the heavy braking system to cope with the high vehicle mass,
d) the heavy wheels (large rims)
and lots of comfort features.
In short: It's cheaper to build a heavy car and put more engine power into it (vicious circle) than to build a structurally light car, which requires less engine power for the same performance.
Remember: The kinetic energy that the vehicle has when you crash into the guardrails on the Nordschleife is significantly higher than with a comparatively light vehicle. And this energy has to be absorbed somewhere.
However: Compared to a BMW M2 or similar, the Nissan 370Z is again relatively. light;-)
@@ElementalRP1 dude, I know you don't need heavy chassis for safety reasons. Keep in mind that 370Z was presented in like 2009 and it's based heavily on 350Z which was presented in 2003, which means that chassis itself was developed in 1999 probably.
Also Japanese cars back then were still cheaper that European, and Japanese were mostly using steel. BMW E60 back then had almost half of the suspension and body made out of aluminium, and we're talking about business saloon, not a sports car.
@@vvevvevvvv It is just a statement that the car weighs approx. 1600kg+.
@@ElementalRP1 it probably does
Was auto rev matching turned on?
As the owner of a black 370z. Nice.
Dude's face at 3:04 is priceless lol
I've owned a 370z Sport and 2 350zs. The 370z is undoubtedly quicker and a better overall performer, but not all 370zs are lighter than all 350zs. In fact the lightest of all the Z33s & Z34s was the 2003-05 350z base model. They weigh less than 3200 lbs.
in uk though we didn't get the base only gt
Is the rattling coming from the short shifter? I have a 370z GT too and know the gear stick likes to shake around a lot, but that rattle noise is insanely annoying. Really need an oil cooler to track these cars though.
yes, i hate it. i do have an oil cooler on it, just when camera is in your face and you've been up since 4 driving across europe my mind went blank
G37/370GT next
Shorter final drive would work well,in this car .imo
Yeah they have a lot of torque but not so much at lower revs. A cheap X-Force exhaust helped mine a lot with that
Perfect example of why you don’t put a short shifter on a CD gearbox, that rattle would drive me insane.

Wait what
That shifter looks uncomfortable
Watching a video of a Nissan sparks my interest in BMWs, I love it.
Good velocity, but that shifter looks terrible. The Nismo looked far more competent in the corners. I keep telling people to buy Nismo takeoff parts instead of entry level coil overs. I would also recommend a more aggressive tire.
I did ask Misha how it compares to Nismo and he said mine had the edge, I just needed to firm up coilovers and he would of been happier, these are b16 so I wouldn't call them entry level.
Those coilovers are far from entry level. I do agree the shifter is doodoo. I’m glad I didn’t buy it myself as those are known to rattle.
Those B16 spring rates are the same as a base 370Z. The dampers I’m certain are better, but this is not a big improvement over stock and mostly provides more adjustment. You can buy swift springs with 30% higher spring rates and Nismo dampers for 1/4 the cost and have a better track setup. I recommend replacing the springs on the dampers to something in the 10k range. You shouldn’t need to revalve them at that rate. Just keep in mind it’s a divorced spring setup in the rear and requires higher rear spring rate.I think that would better match what the car needs, especially with a stickier tire.
I think misha was trying to rev match a car that does it by it self as i think it does… by listening to the downshifts
He might have turned that off.
This Nismo didn't seem to perform like the other Nismo I wonder why?
