- We've dropped 279 episodes of Finnegan's Garage and this one picks up where we left off last week, which is finishing the trip home from Indiana to Georgia. Once back at my warehouse, we repacked the new ATC Trailer ROM550 car hauler with tools and Blasphemi and immediately headed east to Alabama to see how my '55 Chevy Bel Air runs. The goal for this track test was to see if we could soften the launch of my car by using a new product called The Bangshift Billy to control the release of the clutch throwout bearing. It took awhile to get it set up correctly but by the end of the day we were seeing the potential of this cool product. If you'd like more information, click here:

You can also support the channel through my merch website. I've got all kinds of new shirts and I've brought back your favorite hoodies, hats and sticker packs at: www.fsmgarage.com - Авто та транспорт
Top doorseal tip to stop wind noise - stick a piece of 3/8 polyrope behind the seal pushes out the seal far enough to make contact whilst still being deformable enough to work well
@everyone Thank you all for the support and thanks Mike for having faith in me and giving me such a rad opportunity to work with you. I absolutely love it! Merry Christmas everyone, see you next year!
Marry Christmas to u as well Joe
Joe you're the man
Hey Joe; You're doing a great job technically, Equally important is the fact you are there keeping the spirits on a high note when things aren't going so well, and inspiring the confidence that you guys have what it takes to achieve your goals. So keep at it! You will get there!
You're a great addition to the channel, Joe! Merry Christmas!
You seem to be the yang to Finn's ying. Your high spirits keep everyone focused and moving forward!! Good job and Merry Christmas to you too!!
I swear blasphemi is cursed this thing never fails to fail😂
It's related to Rotsun... the car that never fails to fail... just glad it's not broken. Just not working.
Merry Christmas, Mike and family/crew.
Because ROADKILL.
It's like the rotsun
Doesn t the name sort of imply that...
Well Mike committed blasphemy so he kinda asked for it.
I don't know if I could have been as patient. Nothing he does is cheap. Respect.
Money clearly isn't an issue with him
Been there and done that.Labor of love basically..
@@teknoaija1762Or a love of labor, it would seem.
Most likely your version, but when I raced bbc s for 16 years,it was labor of love as I hated wrenching but loved racing.@@mikescherrer4923
Yeah I don't get the point. Just turn off the fancy stuff and let the clutch out a little slower. I definitely would not have had this much patience.
Once the bang shift gets adjusted correctly it’ll be time to replace the roached clutch disc and start all over again 😂
That’s what I’m sayin 🤣
The theme of the channel it seems.
"I met my wife on the banks of the Colorado River, she was sitting in the sand..." sounds like the opening lines of a country song, lol.
Mike I don’t know if you will see this comment or not but I grew up as a kid watching you on the early roadkill episodes and loved watching you and David work on cars. Sure enough it got me into cars and now I am a mechanic with a project car thanks to you. Merry Christmas!!!
Wow, I'm old. This is really cool to hear and I'm glad we have guys like Mike and Dave creating a new generation of hot-rodders with their bad influence.
Welcome to the dark side
Mike, how is it possible you don't "loose your cool"??? Your attitude is so composed. Love your "stuff".
Coolest guy I’ve ever met. Insanely kool dude.
...Ever buy a shirt, or merch, it helps.
When you get to this level, and you're putting Hemi's in Chevy's 'n chit like that... it's part of the process. I believe Mike's seen enough of this to realise..,. It's part of the process.
Dude!!! The early days!!! Was the best days!!! Too many gizmos!!!✌️
If I saw the Roadkill ramp truck rolling past me I'd be more excited than a 6 year old seeing Santa, I tell you what.
Merry Christmas to all!
6 figure Blaspheme… always broken or about to be. That new trailer is really nice. It will provide you years and years of shade to watch the cars that run.
On this episode of Click Bait: Finnegan monologues alone in the car for 45 minutes, Bang Shift Billy goes home sad and Blasphemy never burns down.
Don't forget to buy merch!
Ruthless lol
@@darryl163 Someone had to TLDR
Stop watching him then
Im an idiot but it seams like the clutch guy is lost!
I was thinking that also 😂
I like the stories how you met your wife and how you and Joe met at the boat races. Good stuff Mike. It was interesting to hear about your parents boat, i think you said a 1971 Rogers with an Olds 455, and it would only go 69mph no matter what. I now know why you hate Olds engines, although they are and always be my go to favorite for nostalgia reasons. If by chance, some day, you give another go at an olds 455 ill tell you the secret to making them live...its the moroso 10qt flat bottom trap door oil pan. Not only myself, but also witnessed a few others with olds powered jet boats wave bye bye to engine oiling problems with this pan. My next goal is to figure out how to run that same pan in a car without having to cut up my 442 fromt crossmember too severely.
Nothin' like getting up early on Christmas Eve and watching a new video dropped by Finnegan's Garage!
Merry Christmas to all!
That trucks got history. It hauled Terry Sherrill’s Corvette all over. I remember that truck when I was riding bicycle going by fueling young minds to build hot cars. Klamath Falls had a lot of them. I couldn’t believe it when it showed up on Roadkill and then you keeping it alive. That trucks been involved with race cars almost as long as I’ve been alive.
The ramp truck puts in the work! You take care of it! Ramp truck is taking care of you!❤ my favorite vehicle you own, is the Ramp truck!!
Entertaining as always..
Let that guy cutting the ALUMINUM hood with an unshielded death wheel know that he's in the running for a Darwin award..
What you said about the door seals on the ramp truck maybe true but you absolutely love it and that's what matters and to those who feel the need to make negative comments: it's better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Awesome content Finnegan.
To the gent with the Challenger “I want a death by misadventure”
Finnegan I so admire your attitude and Perseverance, incredible!
I don’t understand the Bang Shift Billy. I get the concept but it seems like your spending your time and money doing the R&D on another man’s product. Granted I no nothing about it. Logic tells me the software should have given parameters based on vehicle weight, tire size, clutch type, engine hp & torque to at least get you in the ballpark.
As always, another great episode. As a viewer, the unfinished projects have no bearing on why I watch your content.
Blessings to you and yours
Hang in there, Mike. You got the right parts and got the right people, not to mention your own amazing intuition and sense for your car. It's a meticulous and sometimes frustrating process, but once things get dialed in, it's gonna be epic! Wishing you, your crew, and your family health, safety, fun, success, and peace for 2024!
The roadkill ramp truck and the C10 truck are my most favourite projects that have been shown
Many years ago when all you had was a dream of owning a badass Chevy Gasser with a blown hemi in it, you probably thought it would be just nothing but basking in coolness. You had no idea of what an incredible amount of work it would require, which now somewhat clouds the experience. I went through that when building my airplane. Hopefully it will be eventually dialed in to a level of reliability that will allow you to soak in the coolness that you've earned with all the hard work.
Yepp, there's a difference between "having problems" and "my car is on fire". That dude seemed to be pretty relaxed while his hood got flexed open... 😁😁😁😁
42:15 Guys, Joe CAN take off his hat. I repeat, the hat is removable!
Better to have this day as a test than have it happen at the first serious 2024 race. Great attitude. You'll get this figured out pretty quick after chatting with Bangshift.
Could definitely feel the frustration through the tv, you’ll get it sorted out and run a number soon enough!
Take all the new fangled stuff off and just send it!
I’ll bet you’re bringing a fan to your next test session.
i havent seen all your car videos, but i was there when blasphemi was born and u decided what to name her and to see how far you have come with this car is mind boggling to me,......nice job
Blasphemi at its old bag of tricks again. 🤣 You'll get there Mike
Screw that, noise. Regular slipper clutch unit.
Awesome year watching you Finn. Merry Christmas to you and your family mate. And to the crew. Bring on 2024. Cheers
Perspective after a bad day is always a good thing. Keep the faith.
These clutch slippers are one of the most frustrating things to get setup correctly, once you do get it, they are amazing. I used the hitmaster on my car and it was definitely a learning curve of adjustment (manual, not through the EFI like yours) and it still was trial and error like you had. My next build Im just going auto because I want to enjoy the actual racing more than constant breakage and adjusting these things to be competitive. Still your videos are the life we all live to a T, you arent alone, its just part of this crazy hobby we choose!
Great Sunday morning video, those who don’t drive a high horsepower stick car won’t understand that progress was made during this video and …. It still drove in the trailer!
A lot of folks talking about getting a slipper clutch like Leroy, but the only way to tune a slipper clutch to a given track prep, is to add weights through the bell housing which is not convenient, and even then its a trial and error process.
I dunno about this electronic clutch controller thing. Sounds good on paper but damn.
I hate to say it but I'm thinking put the old G-force trans back in. I am not impressed with this new trans.
Mike you don't have to say a word, because of sponsors and such. I'll take the hit for you in comments. There is no reason your 1000hp hemi in a 3300lb car shouldn't be able to just dump it and go.
Get some pool noddles to cover the rear beaver ramp spring cables. Trust me, you won't decapitate yourself with colorful reminders on those cables.
Enjoying your channel and feel the fun and pain...for a street hotrod...trying to tune my last hotrod 540...TBS 10-71 still on shop selves...lol. 71 yrs old makes slow wrenching...lol.
How frustrating!! Keep your head up, youll get it!!
You have the patience of a Saint. It will come together! Merry Christmas! Thanks for all of your hard work sharing this with all of us. Next year will be your year.
I would call it FIREBALL!
That starter is the real hero of this video.
Golly that engine and clutch are gonna be toast by the time that bang shift Billy possibly works
Happy Holidays Finn and Joe ! Hope you burn rubber all year long !! Looks forward to the new clutch tech !
So, my friends and I have been fans since the beginning.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas Everyone, It's like watching Groundhog Day... Mike they say patience is a virtue, wow your very patient
I'm excited to see that Billy thing work.
Nothing super broke , best day ever
glad to see Blasphemi getting closer. Have a good christmas Mike.
It'll idle high with a bad leak when you spray it out will SLOW down... These freaking guys...
Great video ! Progress is being made and no breakage!!! Merry Christmas to you , Joe and your families.
Thanks for another great year Mike! Here’s to more wins in 2024! Cheers🎉
It's always good to have a Christmas of peace instead of pieces.
Your patience is phenomenal.... I'd be walking the track to keep from throttling the guy....
Some day I would like to see all the cut outtakes of Mike and the mechanics cussing and throwing wrenches getting pissed like the rest of us probably would during a day like this .
Im happy they dont do that. One of the reasons i like this crew/show is because they dont add drama. Im looking at you American Chopper...
Yeah, when i was younger i would have wrenches AND ratchets sticking into the wall of the garage. Now i cant afford to release that much energy. I would have to take naps after each rant
Happy Holidays to all!! Thank you for the Christmas Eve video!! Merry Christmas Mike and to all your loved ones!!
Very good video. Love all the information you give. 😮👍
Props for keeping your cool man. It’s not even my car and I was starting to feel anxious about that clutch lol. Sucks to see that happen, hoping you get it figured out soon.
Merry Christmas, Mike! All the best to you and yours. 🎄🎅🎉
Watching that sure made me happy to have an old school manual clutch linkage and an adjustable Ram clutch.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Finnegan's and team! Here's to a LOUD and FAST 2024!
Hey Finn, thanks for the Christmas Eve upload! Happy Holidays to you and your family from a longtime fan.
Watching Blasphemi get so close reminds me of rooting for the Sacramento Kings of the late 90's. We're pullin' for you, Mike!
Love your channel - Merry Christmas and keep doing what you’re doing - really enjoy it and now have to buy merch.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Mike, family, & crew!
Again thank you for rolling with the downs and laughing..
Thanks for the Christmas eve upload! Hope everyone has the best holiday.
If it wasn't for bad luck, at least it is still in one piece .... Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄🍀Better New Year ! Thanks for the entertainment in 2023 ... You guys rock!
When your trailer runs better than your car!!!!! But honestly I give you credit for your patience and perseverance rome wasn't built in a nigh. Even when it may seam like your moving at a turtles pace finding and fixing your proving how real it is and I'm glad to follow so don't ever get discouraged.
Im sure the trailer is way outta my price range but love the flexibility of it. Seems like a great design.
Also cant get enough of blasphemi. One of my favorite cars period.
60k+ for an RM550 24' with water and extra cabinets, couch, table, etc, etc.......
I was dying at the end…Mike doing the whole “5h1+ sandwich” where he convinces himself the day wasn’t as frustrating as we all know it was by comparing his situation to the poor man whose Challenger burned up…
Then…
SQUIRREL!
Mike: “The generator has a wireless shutoff??!! Straight up Harry Potter 5h1+ right there!” Then on to fantasizing about double-fisting remotes while winching Blasphemi into the trailer…tellyawhutbruther; Beethoven eat your heart out, this is LIVIN’!!
😂😂😂😂
Cheers! 🖖😎👍
I suspect that Challenger will be back running before Blasphemi
Not gonna lie… this is the first Finnegan vid that I have enjoyed watching since Newbern left.
thanks. i think. lol
@@FinnegansGarage You seemed to capture abit of the old magic vibe again in this video that’s been lacking in recent videos. I think the chat with Joe was great giving us a bit of history. Thanks 👍
you need to put an anchor for a snatch block at the back of the trailer , run the winch cable thru it and hook the cable to the front axle of blasphemi and use the winch to unload it instead of Joe having a heart attack pushing it.
Keep at it Mike! Almost there! It's going to be Good!
Hi Im TimDude ....Merry Christmas Mike .....ROADKILL ...LOVE IT...PEACE OUT
E85 is definitely harder to get started when it’s cold. You basically have to hold the injectors open while cranking. I personally don’t like doing that so a couple shots of brake clean to get it going and let it get some heat and it’s good for the rest of the day usually. I live and race near Cleveland Ohio and spring time and fall time on E85 can be challenging.
I agree. I used to have a turbo Volvo that i had converted to E85. In wintertime (any temp below lets say 5C) it was always a b*tch to start the engine.
But once it ran it ran sooo good!
I still miss that car.
When properly tuned for, E85 can easily start in any weather on the first crank. Coldest E85 start I've done was at -35F with a subaru EJ engine, fired up first crank, coughed a little out the exhaust from being a bit lean and smoothed out after a couple minutes.
Live in the same area of OH and go through the same bs. I just cut the e85 with 102-110 gas back to about e65 and it runs like summer. No hp loss on the dyno, but it costs a little more.
@@whereisamerica7384 I’m on terminator x so no leaded fuel on my o2
@@MET90LX I use Dominator but still run Bosch o2s. I've seen lucky so far. 102 is unleaded. I ran 110 leaded for the first 2 years with a 125 shot. Switched to turbo and e85 and have continued running the same o2s. They are my original ones from late 2015 early 2016. I've seen it kill other o2s though. Don't know if quality went down or what
Your patience is admirable
The Bang Shift Billy sounds promising, but, I do maintenance on hydraulics and when the weather is cold, I've learned that hydraulics exposed to the outdoors can be sluggish and unreliable. Is this device+clutch being affected by ambient temps as well as clutching duration and frequency? I mean, you're making adjustments to milliliters of fluid by the thousandth of a second. Feels like a set of conditions prone to unpredictability.
Thanks for sharing.
Bangshift billy owes Mike a clutch lol sheesh
You have the coolest 55 on the planet
Don't worry Finnegan it doesn't rain everyday, you will get down the track in one piece patience.🙂👍
This looks like a major investment and project. All the most perfect things added, from wisom learned through decades of road trip.
Forever Home on wheels, for probably a long, long time. So cool how all the stuff is modular / moveable.
With winter weirdness well on its way this is a wonderful X-mas present guys!
Season's cheers from PNW Canada!
Merry Christmas Mr. Finnegan
Here's to a better prepared 2024
Also, nothing either of you were saying about the clutch made any sense at all
The more "technology" we employ, the more trouble we have, and the more expensive it gets. Racing is supposed to be fun, but the more trouble we have with "state of the art" equipment The less time we spend racing. I may never reach the 9 second "gold ring" but there will never be a laptop hooked to my car, because it's fun and will stay that way. Mopar 440, 11.5-1 compression, two 650 Holleys on a Weiand tunnel ram, and a big, lumpy Comp cam, and a whole s**tload of FUN!
Wow, that clutch seems to be a LOT of work! At least nothing greanaded! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Fin! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
You have patience Mike. Video watched in its entirety, like button energized. Merry Christmas man.
Thanks for watching!
Cool video learned a lot about how your electronic clutch over hydraulic right keep them up and be safe and have a Happy New Year
I like the old days, motor, Carb, 4 speed and go! Lol
Happy holidays to the FSM Garage!!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!!
I love your new trailer brother. Man you have it setup nice!!! The layout is awesome. And great lighting as well.
Great content thanks for sharing
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 from my family to yours Mike! Love the content. Damn you have that ROADKILL luck all the time. Car just wanted to fight you all day lol.
Go back to the original transmission! ! Just don't let Tony put the linkage on it! LOL 😆
That intro had me in stitches 😂
Also when you said you didn’t wanna wait until 2024; I felt that.
I don't care where or who or race or what is driven I'm just happy with the entertainment on my down time keep it up I love it
