    Thanks Finnegan for giving us this free content to watch between you and a few other UA-camrs I watch yall more than I do just regular TV because with yalls mechanics it's not all dumbed down for a broad audience to understand easily... and it's not that fake reality stuff where they're like oh this car can put down 250 hp stock an then they swap on some small insignificant part like a cold air intake and act like that's gonna "wake up" the motor and add a bunch of power and I hate that bullshit lol

      @@Bakuryu0083 That would be great. And maybe with some delay to the MTD service? I don't mind, even if i'd have to wait for a year or something. I hate the fact you now have to pay 20 different companies to watch your favorite shows. And yeah.. I know, some people will be shouting "It's only 5 dollars a month!", but 20 times 5 is a 100 bucks every month, that adds up pretty quickly and for me a 100 bucks every month is to much to spend on TV basicly... I'd far rather spend that money on my own projects and/or tools, to work on my own projects.
      And having said (well, written...) that: At the moment it's impossible to get MTOD if you're not in the US. Yes, i know making a show costs a lot of time and money, and i'm OK with people who want their fair days pay after a fair days work. Totally fine with that. But it's not like they don't make any money if they put the episodes on UA-cam. In fact, if they do it right they can make money off of the MTOD service AND UA-cam. That'd be like a second income for the MT company.

    I broke the driveshaft in my 68’ firebird accelerating to hard up hill while weighted up. I went to a local junk yard and picked a shaft from a ford LTD station wagon and had it shortened and welded to fit. The LTD drive shaft is much larger diameter than the stock shaft that mated the 400 to the 400-turbo trans never had to worry about breaking the shaft after that. If you happen to be an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can then subscribe to Motortrend through Prime Video for the same sort of price as a direct Motortrend subscription (plus the prime monthly charge sadly) but you get all the episodes as soon as they launch on the Motortrend channel. I am in the UK and being doing this now for a few months after getting kicked out of stupid Motortrend..

    As good as the Roadkill story of this trip was, seeing the out-of-the-way places you fellows were able to get on camera suggests that the current Roadkill editing team is missing out a lot on great side stories in favor of highway B-roll. That's unfortunate, as seeing forgotten bits of the US used to be a highlight of the older episodes - from peeking through a junkyard fence, or the wonderful stop at your father's roadside shop.
    And that's saying something, because Roadkill #127 still managed to be one of the absolute best episodes in a very long time, definitely thanks to the competence of the Rubber Duck and it's powerplant, and you amusing fellows having fun and keeping it cool during this entire endurance run. And this is coming from someone who's pretty ho-hum about drag racing.
    Also, no disrespect to Freiburger - whom I appreciate for his knowledge and every last effort he's put in these last 10 years to bring epic and crazy stories to video - but I was very glad to be spared a Roadkill episode with him trying to ramp up enthusiasm by yelling about _everything_ - that's really getting old. It's the cool, collected modesty of the show that made me stick with it when it first came out. #127 hit right to those roots, and that's probably what guarantees it's place as a classic RK ep!

    • @FinnegansGarage
      @FinnegansGarage  3 роки тому +3

      the RK team is the best there is. They only have so much time to put all the content in the show though because the show airs on both the internet and cable, with commercials.

      @@FinnegansGarage Fair point, Finn - as a fellow editor, I get it. Just seems like too much good stuff has to wind up on the cutting room floor to make the episode fit the 40-45-minute slot. Would be a nice perk if the MOTD versions featured extended-length cuts.

      @@FinnegansGarage eh, they are the best, but they definitely do away with some of many, many b roll shots and replace them with interesting things.

    You need to get a hold of Holley and have them send you a big box of Hydramat for your cars so that you can pick up all the fuel in the tank and not worry about the pickup being too high or whatever. That stuff is amazing with how much it can suck up. If you completely cover the bottom of the tank it'll pull every drop of fuel out of it. I love Minis, especially the S.. a lot of fun to drive and plenty of headroom even for my 6'10 all torso frame, only downside is they are so low that getting up out of them is hell on the knees and back.
