Hi

Holy crap cleet .... your going to go down as one of the men with the quickest come ups ever on YT from OG leeroy to owning a private jet a race track and a air strip .... absolutely amazing

@Frankosclone fuck yeah 😎
Let’s do it? We all put our money together to buy an island somewhere.

Do it for dale ❤❤ also if you do by chance read this, please y’all be carful. We love you guys so much just want everyone to keep on keepin on 🎉
Aviation mechanic for 23 years here. You just bought yourself the coolest lawn ornament ever. By the time you fix what's broken on that thing, you could easily be into a new/like new corporate jet with money left over. Park it somewhere, revamp the interior and make it a cool Air bnb. Or seal it up tight, wash it down real well, and park it at the Freedom Factory.
Fellow A&P, 2 decades, nailed it. Can get money back if it comes with any back to birth docs or someone just wants something cool off of it 😂
It’s so crazy that it’s more worth it to tear it apart , than fixing it up. Kinda sad
@@Axter6 that's how it is with aircraft unfortunately. There's a reason we keep up with the daily, as well as the 30, 60, 90 and annual inspections. Aircraft sitting around without being properly preserved are just really expensive pieces of sheet metal after awhile.
That may be true, but you have to factor in the revenue they’re able to bring in with the content they make restoring the airplane. If they just bought a new jet, they wouldn’t be able to monetize the content as much.
@@davidjohnson5394 i think you are underestimating how expensive that jet will be to fix.
Brother! I've been doing corporate jet rapid response for almost 17 years. Unfortunately, she will never fly again. As other techs have mentioned, the laundry list of work would be crazy expensive. Don't listen to the grumpy old mechanics, clean her up, stick her 100% complete on a pole with DC power and a fuel supply. Make the coolest conference office ever!
The thought of the Qualified Inspections cost alone would be enough to scare and that's not even considering labour and parts.
It'd make a great landmark, that is a given!
And give her a badass Bald Eagle paint job to match Leroy!
They have an older helicopter
Idk the man did drop money to buy the track! Never say never 😅 I would actually like to see him get it back 100% and I’m the air! Would be pretty sweet but he should get his brother in on it and everyone combined drop about 400k in her and I believe he could have an amazing jet and the entire family can’t fly in it. My vote is try to get her back to 100%
I do wonder if they could get an experimental airworthiness certificate for it and save on cost.
I have NEVER been more sad for June 1st to arrive. Thank you Garrett and EVERYONE else who I know put in some long days and nights to make this such an amazing month of freedom. You guys did amazing and I can't wait for next year!
Cleet, you’re one of the best on UA-cam straight up. The diversity of your channel and just overall commitment to your fans and what you love is a very admirable thing. What you’ve built is pretty insane and the group of people around you makes it even better. You guys have a real family and legacy to fulfill
As a Falcon mechanic, this plane ain’t flying again lol, I could go through the list, but by the time you were done restoring this 20, you’d of spent enough money to buy a running Falcon 50 with cash to spare, that’s if you can even find the parts you need. Right off the rip the microbial growth in the fuel cells would probably call for a wing removal, all gears will need to be pulled, rebuilt. The hydraulics are going to be leaking everywhere!! (lol good news is 5606 doesn’t burn your skin) those engines will need rebuilt as well. Haven’t been ran or been stored properly…, have fun with your tree fort! It’ll be sick!
Microbial growth is a third world problem and 5606 does burn. Skydrol does not.
5606 is flammable. That is why skydrol was created. 47 year retired A&P here.
@@beckyumphrey2626 personally been part of separating the wings off a falcon simply for microbial growth at the Delaware facility. It is not just a third world problem. And all falcons use 5606. Also an A&P, I’m talking about skydrol burning your skin….
I absolutely agree with this mechanic as an next fighter jet pilot you’re basically better off buying a $3 million serious Jet brand new it would probably cost closer to $3 million to fix his plan completely and it’s just not worth it. That’s my opinion. I hope it helps.
I agree and if that's all the books that come with it then that in itself will be a lot of problems.
the fact that Cleet bought a private jet with $15k cash in a Ziploc bag is why I'm subscribed to this channel! Entertainment at it's finest.
I hope it doesnt have radium dials
Found it in his helicopter
Right after they made a run from Miami in the three of the sketchiest cars... feels like the 80's all over again (but with legit money this time 🤣)
HE FOUND THAT MONEY HIDDEN IN THE CHOPP-PA
I bought a car with 8K in a zipper pouch.....
Look for a Citation XL. The avionics on those old birds are going bad a lot the last few years so go find one with low time and buy one, then do a Garmin 5000 upgrade, fixes everything that is going wrong. Engines are solid and current. I fly one right now. I actually downgraded from an XLS w/Universal to an XL w/G5000 so I could learn more about the more modern avionics and move to Denver, closer to family.
I was part of MAJOR inspection on one of these. The guy who had owned it for a long time, but it sat and wanted it back Flying. We literally had to disassemble the whole airplane, including taking the tail off for inspections.
It was a 2 year project. The only good part about was the Engines had been sent in for overhaul before we got it. And those GECF 700 engines are gas hogs. I wonder if you could even get a hush kit for those. There was a time where you could put Garrett 731s on them like the old jet star.
they were great planes back in the 70’s and you were the man if you owned one.
Good Luck
Did you work with the R.D.O.T aviation crew? We mostly worked on the electrical components, maybe you saw us there.
@@JRTX93 I was working for Just Jet’s Inc. in Orlando at MCO. I belief it was in tail end of 2011. They flew it in on a ferry permit after engine O/H.
Me and my buddy ran the fuel low before inspections started. That thing bled hydraulic fluid from everywhere. Glad it was a short flight over.
Major job but it was fun and was a change from Falcon 100/50 and 900 work.
I have been in corporate aviation maintenance for 25 years. I have been directly involved in Falcon 900 aircraft for over a decade. You would need to spend WAY more than it would cost to buy another flying aircraft to get this going safely. I bet if you tried you could sell some major components and avionics and make a majority of your money back and make a fun decoration out of it.
Only saving grace is he’s got Jimmy in his back pockey
How much is it for the yearly annual on one of these? I am guessing $50,000? (Only a guess as I have no clue)
Buying one that doesn't need work doesn't make UA-cam content. He's a business man. Investments are based on what can generate content.
100% agree!!!
Yep, exactly! Just buy a share in a NetJet or some other fractional jet. The long run cost is so much better and the aircraft is always available.
I used to work at Duncan Aviation until I retired in 2014. And I did a lot of work on Falcon 20s. It would be the world's biggest surprise to me if you got that thing airworthy for only $300,000. That would only be the opening down payment on what you would need done. You will soon find out those Falcon 20s have the most complicated leading edge slat linkages known to man. Also, be aware that French aluminum is well known to be partial to a LOT of corrosion issues. Anyone who works the Falcon will have to deal with Dassault engineers and being French, they work on their own schedule for returning repair instructions. Good luck whatever you intend to do.
GBR
@@pilotdog68Gay Big Rimjobs? GBR?
i currently work on Gulfstream G-4 and just for a Cap Angle crack replacement costs 200k, and that inspection is every 6 yrs, imagine this plane its gonna cost a pretty penny
Thing definitely shouldn’t fly again. Sell the parts and turn it into something else at the FF is a good idea.
Worried me when I saw the thumbnail 😕 bet he's using the engines boys getting them on the cheap
I am just a lowly PPL, but I have asked around a TON about private airplane ownership, and my flight school is based out of Dolphin, our mechanics which includes an IA&P have also worked on jets frequently. What you just bought there is an endless money pit that will cost you more than you put into the Freedom Factory. It's excellent eye candy and you can do plenty of other things with it, like others have said could look really cool at the FF or even Bald Eagle Airport if you want to put it there. A unique Air B&B is also an idea if you want to put some money into it, but getting that thing flying again with all applicable repairs & AD's is likely going to cost you MILLIONS.
YUP. I maintain Falcons and totally agree. The expenses of getting this bird flying again, let alone running, would be absolutely insane. Much more cost effective to just buy an operational Falcon by the end of it.
*So you're saying it's basically a Ferrari 308 with a bad engine.*
@@1nvisible1 No I am saying its WORSE than a Ferrari 308 with a completely bad powertrain, its like that Ferrari 308 with a nuked powertrain and its a Hurricane Flood car that was completely submerged.
Bro this is amazing! Literally today, I went out with my Vietnam veteran grandfather spent some time with him had my truck and trailer I had used before we hung out and as we were out, bought a 2000 Camaro with a 5 speed for shits and giggles. My company sold a Falcon 2000 it had last year, a 2C landing gear inspection (due every 12 years) cost $335,000…just as an idea of servicing a Falcon. We had corrosion corrected on the windscreen and some spars for another $295,000. I can’t even guess the cost for redoing the entire electrical and hydraulic systems.
Thats extra full price for a company that will pay, Cleet got the homie connections 😜

Good on ya Brother,, 1 day at a time,,, and easy does it. The farther you get from it, the better you'll be.
Those engine parts are gold. There are guys still flying that engine that cant find parts and the FAA will not let them substitute so they have to get GE to build the part on special order which cost 100X what the spare used to cost new. True story. If you are interested Ill put you in touch.
Thank you for producing a fun show to watch, thank you for you and your men sharing your life's with us.
A&P mechanic here. You will spend 750,000+ to make that aircraft airworthy. The falcon is very far behind its inspection cycle and there a ton of service bulletins and airworthy directives that need to be complied with. Engines and landing gear will need overhauled. 750,000-1 million dollars to have this aircraft flying.
750,000 would barely get one engine to airworthy condition let alone the other one and the airframe
Fellow A&P here. And I second this. She’s hurting but it wouldn’t be bad to flip it for parts
No way! I'd say half
So its not worth it?
Or how much is it worth if you get it airworthy?
Yea but can they turbo it?
BETTER CONTENT IN ONE MONTH THAN A TV NETWORK COULD DO IN A YEAR, THANK YOU CLEET‼️‼️‼️
damn. That recap bout made me shed a tear. So happy for you man. Can't think of another human that deserves it more.
Dude does more in a month than I’ll do in my lifetime! Cleet living his best life
Skip thinking about fixing it to fly, cost to fix it are going to creep to 7figures, cost to keep it flying are going to be low/mid 6figures.
You own an airport, so why not converting it into an overnight AirBnB at the grass strip.
AirBnB at the FF sounds cool, but then you will need to keep it open 24/7 for access to people that book it.
Great content,
This makes most sense imo ^^
Victor could have a badass track dryer for the drag strip! Clip the wings for maneuverability, variable position thrust deflectors, be ready to race again within minutes after one of those annoying Florida showers! Use as final cleanup to blow the kitty litter clear of the track after an oil down! Maybe even use it to add a few degrees of track temp for late night final rounds on a cold evening.
I feel that may be like using a nuke to fill a bicycle tire.
@@airborne11b50 nah big big tracks use jet engines to dry the track surface before a big race now granted these arent drag strips that use them but it isnt unheard of
@@trentinbrooks3182 I know what you're saying, I stand by my comment.
@@airborne11b50 I would say you are correct big Sarge
Yea but, ain't it cool.
Yeah a pilot here, engines will need to be reserviced, tires, fuel tanks probably corroded, avionics and gauges, interior revamp, goes on and on. Get urself a seperate airworthy or close to airworthy jet this would be so cool!
All these mechanics in the comments saying it would cost too much to restore, just drop 2 turbocharged ls engines from ebay and call it a day! 😂
The "No Shit Sherlock" out of the old dude at 13:42 made me chuckle
Cleet, I worked a falcon 20 for a few years. Sweet airplane. The manuals are a little rough and the hardest part is finding parts because some aren’t manufactured any more. My company is selling some falcon 20 parts if you need any small stuff. But engines alone are gonna cost you quite a bit. I’d say you have a sweet lawn ornament. But anything is possible with some money. Good luck brother!

I always loved the month of freedom! I’m an ARMY Veteran and worked on helicopters while I was in. Mostly on “little birds” And now I’m a certified aviation mechanic working on Lear jets. I would like to help out in any way if you need it. Love your channel and have been watching from the start!
Hell yeah, I'm still in and do ATC. Man this is a nice bird, crazy how much aircraft costs are too.

Big love.
Falcons are so cool. Pretty much all the airports I fly out of have lots of business jet traffic, and falcons are always the coolest. My vote is to get it airworthy. It might be cheaper to sell the engines and buy new engines. I'm not sure if the hush kit is part of the engine, or the nacelle, but if it's the engines, that solves that

Man that recap was insane. Does not seem like that has all been crammed into one month. Hell yeah brother to all that freedom👍👍👍
Cleet, you could buy one in flyable condition and 20 years newer for less than it would cost to get that one flying. Rebuilt engines with hush kits will run over $1mil if you can even find them. Hourly cost to fly is around $5k then figure another $500k/year to keep it airworthy whether you fly it or not.
I think this is something he just can't afford. Glad to see other AP's chiming in. It would certainly be cool out in front of the race track but her flying days are over.

Thanks for hosting the month of freedom. You people are awesome. Ride safe.
Fun fact...these planes were the planes that began FedEx. They also did some military service...our Coast Guard used them, and there's still some in service in other countries.
Some of these older birds were re-engined to the Garrett TFE731 and the Garrett ATF3. You get more range, a better climb rate, and more speed with either of these. Maybe you could find an up to spec pair of these guys.
Additional fun fact - these engines were what NASA used on the lunar landing research vehicle.
I heard some of the cargo conversion ones are used to carry radar jamming devices for fighter jet testing. I guess nobody has made a modern nimble enough jet to do the job
Not gonna lie this will be my first comment I've ever posted to youtube. Garrett, you are truly an inspiration to so many of us. Sterling explained that AlliedSignal is primarily involved with the sale of the engine retrofit and thrust reversers. It is the customer’s option on how extensive an upgrade he or she wants to do. A full upgrade on a Falcon 20 would include the $3.78 million engine refit, Dee Howard TR5020 thrust reversers at $370,000, a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4 EFIS panel at $1.6 million, which includes a choice of long-range nav units, TCAS II, GPWS and high-end HF unit, an AlliedSignal 36-150 APU at $300,000 and a completely new interior for another $700,000. An aft baggage mod, at $47,000, provides an additional 30 cu ft of storage area in the tailcone. The engine change alone involves 15 weeks downtime while the entire upgrade package takes about 25 weeks.
To create a 731 Falcon 20B, a customer brings in their Falcon 20 or they buy one and have the engine, avionics and interior upgrades accomplished at Garrett’s SPI (Springfield IL) completion facility. This work can also be done at Dassault Falcon Jet LBG (Le Bourget, Paris, France) and TSA Transairco GVA (Geneva, Switzerland).
Considering the cost of a good Falcon 20 airframe-about $1.5 million for a standard C model and up to $3 million for a late-model F series-the cost can be almost $9 million with the full upgrade, which is getting close to the price of a new midsize jet. While you’re not buying a new aircraft with this program, the Falcon 20 is an airplane designed with no life limits and, even with a few thousand hours on the airframe, it’s hardly broken in if it has been well maintained. I sincerely believe that a 10,000-hour corporate jet airframe is really nothing to worry about since most people don’t think twice about getting on an airline’s Boeing 747 with 50,000 hours on it. At any rate, the 731 Falcon 20B is a great airplane and AlliedSignal, with the TFE731- 5BR, has the only engine to fit the bill. The TFE731 has the right combination of power and low noise output and there hasn’t been a turbine bizjet engine that’s been more successful.
ive been in aerospace for some time and serviced ge cfm engines and will tell you just to get that jet going with an annual inspection/ 8130 cert or air worthiness cert as everyone else knows it you are looking at 60k easily engines will have to be torn down cleaned serviced components and or replaced life limited parts before it will ever see an 8130 let alone taking off the tarmac cleet i hope the best hell of a find but think logically with this purchase
Who buys a Falcon 20!? A nice playgroud for the kids, an air b&b or kind of a billboard on top of the hangar more or less. You can't even get spareparts for that thing anymore. 😂
Best show on any platform hands down. Congrats on what you have created cleetus and team.

Definitely gonna have to fully strip that paint to check the airframe and skins for corrosion. Retired aircraft painter here, if you need any help with that I’ve got some friends that operate in Florida that can handle all the exterior stuff for you.
The kids and I have greatly enjoyed the month of freedom! Keep up the amazing content!
chop the wings down. Use it to dry the track when it rains 😂😂😂
😂 perfect.
Absolutely the best idea EVER!
Chop the wings and send it down the quarter more like
Chop the wings and send it down the quarter more like
This is actually a pretty interesting idea. Could be really cool…..until they turn that corner and jet blast everyone in the stands 😂
That compilation at the beginning gave me chills for some reason. Love you guys. This is the best community on UA-cam. FACTS
You can probably get some slightly used tires for a little over $350, new ones will cost you a little over $1000 each. If you can find someone that knows planes and can tell you exactly what you need, you could look for another Falcon to use for parts only. You can also call around to different airfields/hangars to see if they have any spare parts you might need laying around that they can sell on the cheap. 🙂You guys should make it air worthy, and then have someone do some custom work on it to make it look like the Millennium Falcon.😃Either that or a UFO. At least you have all the books, without those you'd never get it in the air... so don't lose that box.
Hey Bud, it would seem you know my friend Andy W I believe he built your stealth bomber from CARF. I do a lot of rc jet build videos on youtube as well. Cool to see your love for aviation, I flew in the military till I retired. Hoping to buy a plane some day to share my love with folks. Keep up the cool stuff!
Type rated with over 1000 hours in the Dassault Falcon 20 F model with two engine failures. Used to be a big overhaul facility in Kansas GE rear fan engines. At one time our company had around four. At one time the airframe had no design life limits. If someone held a gun to my head and said you have to fly thru that thunderstorm this is the aircraft I would have picked even though both engines would have flamed out. Better have the engine and aircraft logbooks. Some of these aircraft are still flying with engine mods
Man.... to be a team that has so many talents, just being humble and good people have got to be the thing I appreciate most from you and the guys. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we appreciate you guys just as much.
owning a plane will take you to places you would otherwise never have seen. Going where you want, when you want, is the defination of freedom.
You will have to get the C boys to come help you put it in the front yard of the tracks. They know a thing or two about putting up some lawn ornaments.
Gosh darn you guys..that intro got me. It was such an epic month and I'm so happy with the channels success! Yall are so genuine and down to earth ❤ think it may be time for a crew video getting their well deserved Thank You in the form of new platforms for the new big blocks!
I remember watching you when you weren't that big! Sharing a shop with multiple people and it was awesome! This shit seriously couldn't have happened to a better person! Love you Cleetus!!!!!
That’s an amazing unit! Unfortunately I would be shocked if she could ever fly again. At the very least even if it’s possible you’re talking 6 figures easily. I think a badass jet powered tree for would be amazing and definitely be an attraction!
I have an idea for the plane. Get a Tank with a turret, add a sissors from a sissor lift to the turret, add the plane (with safety cage) and use it at the Freedom Factory for V.I.P. seats that you buy 50/50 tickets for, or online purchase for Freedom Flights in the Factory. Park the tank at a choice spot, and leave them be. Or use it as your anouncers booth would be bad ass as well. Use to cockpit fitted with cameras and flight head gear for comms. Or suspend the plane from a bridle chain so it moves like it's flying. If you want a fixed structure. I am looking forward to what's in store for us. Good bless and good look guys. For Freedom !!
The brawl at the tow yard was by far the best one IMO 😂I haven’t laughed that hard like when I saw that go down in a very long time. Thank you guys for the awesome content.
Shame I missed that. The instant whankin doucher is brought up I shut it off.
Absolutely loved the intro. Can’t get enough of cleet and the family, can’t get enough freedom, and can’t wait till next year!!
Try hooking up with the guys at Rebuild Rescue, they do a lot of airplane content restoring abandoned aircraft. At the least they’ll help you get the wings off and back on!
Way to plan ahead for Maddie’s Christmas gift brother! 👍🏻
As soon as i saw the cockpit i thought the same thing as jackstand.
"YOU BOYS LIKE MEX‐II-CO?!?"
You should rip the wings off and run it down the 1/4 mile at the track.
How are they gonna run it with no engines? The tow rig?
Leave the wings and fly it down 😂
Twin engine jet
Stopping at the other end is over rated 😂😂
Have them boys fab up an arrestor like on a carrier ye ye!!
If you haven’t seen it, go watch the Jimmy’s World video on Motley Crew’s old private jet, similar deal with rehab costs, engine hush kits, etc. I’m guessing there are a lot of jets sitting in various stages of disrepair racking up hanger fees or sitting on tarmacs rusting and leaking. Perhaps the fellas need to repurpose several of them into a tiny home Airbnb community for the FF! 🙂
