Banning AR-15s won’t solve anything. People will just buy something similar instead.
Example: in Canada 🇨🇦 AR-15s are restricted which means you need a lot more paperwork to own and transport one and it can only be used on a shooting range.
So due to the annoyance of that I got a Tavor 21 instead. The tavor is non restricted so I can use it in my backyard or a shooting range or hell I can hunt with it if I wanted to.
Point being ban an AR-15 and people will just get something else that’s similar.

He is just good a debating. He really isn't all that logical. Notice how in this clip he accuses and attacks Piers for standing on the graves of the Sandyhook victims, then goes on to later stand on the graves of the genocide victims in WWII to further his political view. Not even accurately, the majority of Germans were in favor of Hitler, they would not have taken up arms against him. It is a classic example of Double Speak. This is one of the issues with this tyranny bs pro-gun people keep spouting. People buy guns for two reasons, as protection, or as toys. No one in the US ever went to buy a gun saying "oh maybe one day I will need this for a revolution...". I don't particularly care whether they are legal or not. But I find it silly when people make these ideological arguments that simply don't apply in the real world. Especially a guy like Ben Shapiro whose whole pretense is to live in the constraints of reality.

Banning specific types of semi-automatic weapons is a lost cause. An AR is no different than a "regular"-looking semi-auto rifle in the way it works. Can we on the left agree this is silly (and just leads to people opposed to any reform shutting down debate)? Now, can folks on the right also agree that a non-public national database of firearms that will enable background checks in all sales, including among unlicensed individuals is something to consider? Seems like Shapiro agrees.
So long as the database isn't a record of who owns guns and where they are, then we can have a conversation about that. A background check is all well and good. Being put in a government list of people to target first should the government go full tyrant mode is a whole other story.
NovusIgnis The odds of our government taking everyone’s guns in a tyrannical manner is very unlikely since we’ve maintained a Democracy since 1776. Sure we get stuck on common issues and take a while to agree on collective actions but I can’t see America’s Government taking anyone’s firearms. Although many people use them for sport, hunting, or recreational activities, we can agree that gun deaths need to go down. Right? So one way of solving the issue could include a system similar to owning a car. The whole ordeal including licensing, testing, education, etc. The goal IS NOT to keep track of gun owners or to take their guns away but to learn what causes the deaths and have a system in place to help reduce or prevent them. Imagine if there was no system in place and a blind person wanted to buy a car and cause an accident. No system means he can. Fortunately since we’ve established a way of deciding who can drive and who cannot the odds of that exact issue happening are very small. A more realistic example is with traffic accidents in general. We were able to reduce the number of Automobile deaths by studying the roads and driving patterns to enforce changes that resulted in less lives being lost. Same thing could be said about certain types of gun deaths. At the end of the day we all want America to take another step towards greatness and with that I salute you 🤝

I don't think the fact that piers is an arrogant narcissist negates the fact that civilians should not be able to purchase guns. The argument even that its to defend against knife crime doesn't hold water, because OK, maybe someone with a gun will threaten you. Do we need a grenade to defend ourselves against that?
Quite simply, as we have seen, in countries that do not allow people to purchase those weapons, the same sort of mass killings do not take place, or at least nowhere close to as frequently. That's empirical evidence, surely?

Mr. Shapiro is wrong because he claims he is rightfully allowed to draw the line saying that the only weapons that should be banned to the public are the automatic weapons while he is uncomfortable with Mr. Morgan drawing his own line to banning semi-automatic weapons and up.
So Mr. Shapiro creates a diversion in several ways:
1) Mr. Shapiro continuously presses on Mr. Morgan to rather lean towards banning all pistols instead. Mr. Morgan is drawing a clear line stating that the AR15 as well as other semi-automatic weapons should all be banned.
2) Mr. Shapiro states that bump stocks are illegal just like illegal immigrants make it to this country. That is wrong too. Bump stocks are illegal in California since 1990 yes, but even after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, they are not illegal in Connecticut, Michigan, Minnesota, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.
Whether the AR15 is or is not an assault rifle, and whether it comes with a bump stock or not, Mr. Morgan thinks AR15 should be banned based on all the mass-shooting incidents that have happened in recent years and I respect that.
You're no different than every other snot nose who thinks they have the 1up on Ben, but just like them you have no solid ground to stand on.
