  • I still maintain that Frag Cannons are very bad weapons for CZs, but nine of them loaded with premium ammo gets the job done. Although it costs 72 Zinc each time you reload all the guns. So it's not something you want to (or will likely be able to) do too often, lol. Very good for Assassination missions and farming Threat 7 Anacondas, however, even with just basic ammo.

This is ridiculously scary. Thank you. You have given me my next project:)

Haha, yeah, the Type-10 has more weapons than most third world countries. She can be a bit of a beast. :D

Coriolis build is in the description. It's a mix of frag cannons with varying nasty effects.

Great video. Is there a reason why I never see you using flight assist off? Especially with this heavy ship.

Sometimes I do, to help with turns. It really depends on the ship. I never got into flying with flight assist off all the time, and I haven't found any real reason to, at least personally.
You won't hear the ships saying it though, because I turned that off in the settings (because sometimes I use it a lot to help a ship turn and it gets super annoying hearing "Flight Assist on! / Flight Assist off!" constantly). You just hear the beep and see it on the panel at the top right. I do use it at least once in this video. :) I dunno, I guess I just prefer using throttle control to control turns, and dogfighting. I tend to use my ENG pips a lot, and boosting, rather than keep zero pips in them and use FA off as a sort of a crutch to help with turns like I know some people do. It's just how I prefer to fly, I guess.

@@Kaethena Well that's the thing. I haven't seen that notification...as I turned that off also...super annoying. I wouldn't say it's a crutch as it requires skill to use. And according to lore l would say...fa on is a crutch...it's right in the name: ) I myself don't like flying slow...my throttle control is pedal to the meta and faoff on turnsl:)

@@romariogee You're kind of right. The older games didn't have flight assist at all. But they were also a complete pig to do any sort of combat in and not nearly as fun as Elite Dangerous is. That's probably why they put it in there. To make the ships behave more like aircraft than spacecraft. And IMO it kind of worked. Combat is very fun. Newtonian physics flight model involves orbiting around your target only making sure you're pointed in the right direction. I cannot stand that style of flying. But that's just a personal thing.
What I mean by a crutch is that a lot of commanders forget they have engines at all. When determining pip placement, they ONLY think in terms of weapons and shields. Either go 4 in SYS and 2 in WEP if you can get away with it, or 4 in WEP and 2 in SYS if it's a hungry loadout, or 3-3 at a push. You'd be surprised how many people never put pips into ENG at all. In spite of how much it changes the flight characteristics of the ship you're flying. And they use FA off during turns to compensate for that somewhat. As a sort of cheat. Since it gives the ships a better pitch rate without having to put pips in ENG at all.
I don't fly like that. I just don't like it. I think it's a bit cheesy to do that, honestly. And if you can manage your engines well enough, most of the time you don't need FA off. Although some ships will always need it, lol.

@@Kaethena Funny you mentioned eng pips. I just recently discovered 5G dirty drag FDL and as much as I dislike "meta" ships...OMG this thing is fun to fly. And it requires a proper pip control to fly to it's full potential. My control setup seems to be lacking in that respect so I ordered myself a azeron "thanos glove" and decided to scratch my bindings file and optimise a new control scheme. What are you using for controls?

@@romariogee I use a Logitech X-56 HOTAS for flight, but I still keep my Xbox controller around for some other stuff, just because it's what I used for a few years before getting the stick, and some stuff I'm just more used to.
I'll be honest with you, I'm not terribly keen on the FDL. But I couldn't tell you why. I hate the word "Meta." All it means is "You have to fly what we tell you and have no imagination." That's the main reason I don't PvP. I don't want to have to build ships to counter the "Meta" of the day. I like freedom to experiment.
As long as a ship resonates with you, don't let anyone tell you it's good or bad. That's the entire opposite of the point of the game. As long as you're having fun with it, that's the most important thing. And also partly why I make these videos. To try and show that there are NO bad ships in the game. Just bad builds from people who don't know what they're doing.
