This is a specialty stereo sound of a heart pumping at approximately 40 soothing beats a minute. As a young unborn person we are exposed to our mothers heartbeat even before we have any memory of the sound. Our early exposure to this noise could explain why the sound of a heartbeat is so very comforting to many. Heartbeat noise like this works best when combined with other noises that you find relaxing.

Its such a strange mix of soothing and haunting. Its soothing just for the comfort of another person being there with you but it kind of echoes Poe's "The Tell-Tale heart", you never want to hear another heart beat when you're alone.

Honestly listening to a heart beat (especially slowed) is really good for trying to calm down your heart rate because your Brain tries to mimic your heart rate to what could be happening in the moment as in if your listening to music it’s going to try to beat to one of the beats (I’m not entirely sure on this fact I read it somewhere and ever since it has been helping me tbh)

I find that quite comforting. Reminds me of one of my classes when we learned how the heart pumps. The two at the top pump first, then the ventricles at the bottom. All with the lungs attached from the right ventricle to the left atrium, giving oxygen then being pumped to the body. Very fun to hold one as well. Plump, muscular, and strong. I remember cutting a deers heart open and rinsing it through the faucet. All the tubes ran with the water. So nice. I just love how the heart works, it’s so pretty to me
