Thanks for the videos. I put one of these in my Freelander 2. I had the old LR gps, removed it, removed the front of the case of the car Purdue and hot glued the unit into the inside of the frame for the old gps. Looks OEM esp as you loose the carpuride logo. Carpuride will send you a boot up screen if you send them a LR logo too. Powered off ignition power supply so boots on starting the car. I also went as far as de soldering the light sensor on the back of the unit and added longer wires so that it pops up below the windscreen. Thus slows the auto screen dim function to work at night. Also added a mic and usb socket in the dash. Connected front side and rear cameras and an eBay trigger box for them. The carpuride has worked flawlessly on wireless CarPlay for over a year. The Siri function with the dash mounted mic is very functional. Hard wired to the aux of the stereo for sound out. Recommend this as a very cheap option.

Nice video. Im planning on doing a similar thing myself. I have an HSE with satnav and a nice Harmon Kardon original stereo so im planning on replacing the SatNav display and doing a "built in " version. Its quite easy to get into the dash as it just pops off, so hiding the cables should be "fairly" easy. Im also planning on doing the wired camera for tow hookups. Overall this is a great series dispelling many of the Disco 3 myths.

Any Disco with an integrated nav have a MOST cable and you cannot remove the screen without a bespoke MOST cable - Sadly

Is something integrated possible on an L494 HSE - early Euro 6 car on a 65 plate.

I don't think anything will plug in but this unit would be compatible if you have the AUX in or use the FM transmitter mode.

Hi , am a newbie to ur channel and really like the videos that’s you’ve been making , bless u for the review as I also have a base model with no centre satnav screen and funny enough been looking , would u also mind sharing what double din radio u have plse , thks again , seeing this reminds me that I e also got to fix my rear parking sensors , done the usual test of listening to them clicking but alas only 2 of them are working , stay safe and well , looking forward to more videos , I’m based in Kent , thank u so much once again

Hi, that's for the comment. The double din is a fairly generic SONY type without any CD etc. Has bluetooth and AUX in which I used to connect to the unit. I will try the FM tranmitter to see if it's a good option to do away with the AUX lead.

@@LRLiveUK thank u so much , I did happen to add an aux socket to my existing LR radio , got a plug and play loom which had the aux socket within the loom then mounted the aux socket onto one of the blanks on the centre console, posted the pics on the discovery 3 forum , apologises as can’t post a link here and couldn’t find an email for ur good self as was going to post it over to u , must confess when I get a new double din would like it to have a CD player in it, old fashioned I suppose as prefer CD’s, lol, plus wish to use my steering wheel phone button via a Bluetooth setup as added a discovery 4 steering wheel and D4 stalks , loving the channel and the fantastic videos you’ve been posting , so grateful to u taking the time in making them , thk u so much and following the channel with great interest , also belong to the discovery 3 forum as I had a nightmare with a sticking turbo actuator arm, hole on the air inlet tube which required me to replace it , hope I never have to do that job again , sorry I’m waffling , lol thks again

They now do a hard wire install kit for under $£10. So worth having. Ive just fitted one to the RR and done a covert wire up.
