Brilliant! These two guys Sussed out a way to get professional surf training, get grades for it and probably have taxpayers pay for it. Love it. Goodonya!
Wow, I SO wish I had a coach to walk next to me and hold my hand for safety and confidence so I could practice my surfing technique on a surfskate!!!! It looks like so much fun and such great training, but having never skated and being now 66 years old, I am a bit afraid to try one on my own b/c I don't want any injuries to keep me out of the ocean. 😯 Does anyone teach like Clayton does in Southern California? Even just watching this video was SUPER helpful. When pumping down the line on a wave now I keep hearing Clayton say "kiss the knee!" and when I do that it works great!
Hi Val, 64 year old surfer here who’s joined the OMBE program , bought the lifetime subscription. Bought a Carver Triton started skating in the driveway, just 10 minutes every other day. After a few weeks I’ve progressed to riding the streets on mild downhills . Next step the ramps at the skate park! It’s been really good for working on getting my stance more forward facing, and drawing my turns out. Just take it slow !
Seriously phenomenal instruction! For those of you who may be involved in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, these two are the Renner and Ryron Gracie or the John Danaher of surf-skate technique, methodology and explanation IMHO.
🏄 Awesomeness!!! @ 5 mins, I believe the sport you're talking about is speed skating ⛸!!! Great information as usual!!! Thxxxxxxxxxxxxx alwwwaaayyys!!!! 🏄
Hi Clayton, first off, your teaching skills are fantastic. Great to see someone living in their element 😊Also a question, do you encourage people not to put there back foot on the kick generally or only whilst you are teaching them off the back foot?
These are great videos-Thanks! One question I have is with as much as you emphasize front foot weight, why do you push off with your front foot on the ground with back foot on the board. Seems counter to keeping weight on front foot, unstable, and also different from what I usually see folks do when pushing skateboards. Just curious. Thanks!
it really worries me that people think they need to be told how to stand on their board. once you are comfortable in the ocean and arent gonna drown, learn to surf on your own. studying "surf technique" is only going to negatively impact your style and enjoyment. go have fun and figure these things out for yourself.
Dudes managed to get phd funding to learn how to surf. Dudes of the century award goes to you 👏
this must be australia :)
Australia by way of Durban
Game changer. Clayton is another dimension teacher. 🙏
Clay's like a guru to me. Such knowledge and experience linked with an exceptional mentoring talent.
I see Clayton getting an honorary doctorate soontime
💯
