holy f***. This is the best surfskate advice video I've ever saw in almost 1 year of self taught training and It's not even a specific surfskate video. I cant belive how important is to have somebody that knows looking after your moves and habits to get better and enhance even more the style of the surfer Man you got my like and subscription, keep going. I love teaching and the way you teach made me realize that I would love to help other people in their process the way you do so thanks for the free inspo. Kudos
That's definitely me, seems like a lot to remember but it isn't if that make sense, haha. Face forward arms out front, weight on front foot look where your going. All about posture, I'm 62 that's alot of years of bad habbits, your a bloody legend.🤙
Clayton is the best Coach. His analogies are amazing. I have tried so many other programs and got no improvements. In fact I think they tought me the wrong approach like paddling at the wave speed. In a few months in OMBE sysyem I have learned so much and see a big real difference . I wish I know them before. So many waves wasted
I can hear what you are saying and it all seems 90 degrees from what we have always been told ie use your back foot. Old mate is smiling and occasionally gets it but it is like trying to change a 40 years old golf swing. I'll give it a go and see the difference. Nice video.
I'm guessing what you are aiming for here is a more neutral stance between turns? When I was a beginner/early intermediate bogging turns off my front foot was a huge problem, so simply getting onto the back foot was a struggle. Now I'm the kind of surfer you are describing here, heavy off the back foot and I often struggle to change my stance as I'm riding. It means I can do basic maneuvers now and link them, (rio/cutback ect) but I do feel stuck. What you are describing here is pretty counterintuitive at this point.
There are more ways to turn than just off the back foot. It all boils down to the speed going into a turn and how much speed exiting the turn. A back foot pivot will be quick but cost you speed. A lean will take longer but you will maintain the speed
Great video again @Ombe surf. So what about the surfboards wich are made for front foot surfer or back foot surfer ? Just marketing ? Last question, what type of shape his easier to work on that technique ?
@ombesurf do you produced any advanced stuff like how do you improve your frontside lip bash so that it is a pivoting snap sending spray skyward? Backside no problem 12 oclock straight up. But frontside they end up being more of a drawn out turn like a carve unless there is some foam to whack like im speeding left and up ahead theres a right coming towards me then i can tee off on that thing.

Tu sei un genio! Mai visto una spiegazione tecnica così semplice ma che va alle fondamenta del movimento base per creare velocità sul surf. Un genio 🎉

Just a regular day at the office
Muchas Gracias 🤙
Brilliant
Front food surfing is the tastiest
Clay was even tired in the end lol...
Haha yep
When he moves tô the back foot, he stop pumping... thats why there is no more speed.
Yep
Did he watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall before this?
Love that film. Hahahahha
