  • Stop Arthritis Pain - Hands and Wrists - A person's ability to do daily tasks may be greatly hampered by arthritis in the hands and wrists. Osteoarthritis (OA) can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life even though it may not directly affect life expectancy. There is hope, though, because manual treatment and exercise can be very beneficial for managing this condition. These non-invasive treatments can reduce pain, slow the progression of OA, and enhance hand and wrist function in general.
Dr. Abelson, the developer of Motion Specific Release, demonstrates some incredibly successful procedures for addressing OA in the wrists and hands in this video. These treatments offer relief to people with OA by using gentle manual techniques that target specific areas of the hand and wrist.
These procedures can assist people with OA in regaining function and raising their quality of life by enhancing joint mobility, lowering inflammation, and encouraging healing.

Use a medical hand gripmaster I do. Try it. I had a finger dip one day. I was horrified so I thought maybe exercising the fingers and hand might help. It was worth a try. It worked. My fingers look fine and not out of shape. Whenever I think I might be getting that problem again, I use the cheap gripmaster . I don't take any pain medicine now, yet it all started when I thought after seeing ads about one a day aspirin and took one for 2 days, the hand problem started. Must be just a coincidence because I stopped taking the aspirin yet the finger problem still tries to come back. The gripmaster gets me out of it everytime. I'm 75 .

Had a trigger finger last year and went to a Hand specialist who injected cortisone on my affected finger that had helped. However I had changed my diet, stayed away
from gluten, sugar and dairy. Eating only 2 meals a day, no snacking and going to gym classes of Yoga, Zumba and Weights 5 to 6 days week and seems to lessen my
hands and back pain/discomfort. I am 30 pounds lighter and have more energy.

Dr Abelson, would you recommend an adjustment like that for someone with extensive hand and finger pain? Would you say that other areas need to be observed as well, such as the elbow for potential ulnar nerve issues? Would an adjustment provide relief for someone with ulnar nerve issues, or cause more harm?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Рік тому +1

Hi David: I can not make comments on specific cases without doing a physical examination. I recommend you see your practitioner and get them to do an assessment. If this was in our clinic we would run a cranial nerve exam ua-cam.com/video/Vw6Z4-oYrfY/v-deo.html, upper limb neruo assessment, in addition to orthopaedic cervical examination. ua-cam.com/video/Jz_PNpxXErs/v-deo.html. Then I could comment on specific cases. Cheers!

Hi Sanitary103: I can not comment on individual cases without doing an examination. When I think of arthritis (OA) I think of wear and tear of a joint from overuse. OA is most common in adults over age 50. Symptoms of Arthritis are: Chronic joint pain, joint stiffness, swelling around joints, joint redness, decreased range of motion.

Hello S.L. S.: We are located in Calgary Alberta Canada our clinic name is Kinetic Health. www.kinetichealth.ca/ In regards to the wrist braces, we have found that one size does not fit all. What is great for one patient does not necessarily work for the next. Hence, we often advise our patients to keep all the packaging in case they have to return them. We do not sell braces, and do not recommend just one brand name. Also we tell our patients, not to wear them all the time, just when needed (times of increased repetitive motion, and lifting). At night they should not have them too tight so they do not decrease circulation. Cheers!

Hello @kaksjfd, Thank you for your interest in the video. The techniques shown are part of Motion Specific Release (MSR), a therapeutic approach that is utilized by chiropractors, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, and other healthcare professionals. MSR is not solely massage or chiropractic; rather, it is an integrated method that may be beneficial for managing conditions like arthritis. However, flare-ups of arthritis can be complex, and what works for one person may not work for another. It’s important to consult with a healthcare provider to determine the best approach for your individual needs, especially when managing a condition like arthritis. Wishing you the best in finding relief and managing your symptoms.

If you're considering MSR, please do so under professional guidance and not during an acute flare-up to prevent any exacerbation of pain.

What kind of therapist does this? Just corrective massage? I saw my medical doctor TWICE to see what exactly was going on with my hands and wrists (Arthritis? Carpal tunnel? Both? Something else?) And she never could even tell if I had arthritis or anything else! When I said I suspected the problem at least partially stemmed from the problems in my neck and shoulders, she said try a new pillow and some neck exercises. The end. Medical doctors don't have a clue. Some don't even recognize common problems.

Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. MSR is a technique taught to a wide range of healthcare professionals, including chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and even some medical practitioners. I understand that navigating healthcare can sometimes be frustrating. If you've had less than satisfactory encounters with medical doctors, a second opinion from another type of qualified healthcare provider could offer a more holistic understanding of your condition. Wishing you all the best in health!

Hi Stefano: I am demonstrating how patients can benefit from occasional maintenance care who have Osteoarthritis, from a qualified practitioner. These moves always have to be combined with daily exercise. For example, these are some of the common exercises we prescribe to our patients. ua-cam.com/play/PLgOYZJk3rv6X93g7U6EAVkmy6Hg4eQ-AG.html In regards to the 65+ age, that is when patients can really benefit from the combined therapy and exercise. I treat lots of patients in here 60's, 70's, and 80's who would not be able to move very well otherwise. Cheers

Hello, and thank you for watching our video on relieving arthritis pain in the hands and wrists.
We appreciate your engagement and understand your concerns. However, it's important to note that providing specific advice for individual cases without conducting a physical examination is not possible. Arthritis can vary greatly in its presentation and severity, and what works for one person may not be suitable for another.
If you are experiencing significant discomfort and your fingers are affected at such a young age, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional or a specialist in arthritis and joint health. They can conduct a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and potentially diagnostic tests, to determine the most appropriate course of action for your specific situation.
It's essential to prioritize your health and seek guidance from experts who can provide tailored recommendations to address your condition effectively. If you have any more general questions about arthritis or hand and wrist health, please feel free to ask, and we'll do our best to provide you with useful information.
