There's two versions of this song. The UK version is Micky Moody the actual guitarist who wrote the song. John Sykes recorded the guitar for the US version here. He didn't write this.
David Coverdale, the lead singer of Whitesnake, has one of the most iconic voices in rock. His powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence have defined the band's sound since their formation. "Slow an' Easy," one of their classic tracks, perfectly showcases his gritty yet soulful voice. The song's bluesy groove combined with Coverdale's raw energy makes it a timeless anthem in rock history. Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering Whitesnake, "Slow an' Easy" is a must-listen.
Loved Whitesnake since 1978,in my opinion David Coverdale is one of the best rock / blues singers ever. His voice covers an amazing 5.5 octaves. So distinctive.
Saw Whitesnake a few years ago and David Coverdale can still hit every note he did back in the day. Let's not forget he sang with Deep Purple and my favorite album is Storm bringer. That song would be a great one for you to check out.Stormbringer by Deep Purple. Whitesnake is one of my favorite bands, I am an old fart and I wish I had their albums in front of me. There are so many great songs I could request but my memory is not what it used to be.
The lead singer David Coverdale did a 1 album collaboration with Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, the collab was called Coverdale-Page and there are some pretty good songs on the album like Shake my Tree, Pride and Joy, Over Now.
Me too! I was on a double date with a buddy of mine in the backseat of his 1981 Camaro Z28 cruisin the local strip when I first heard this banger! Damn good times!! 💪🏻🤘
Robert Plant was not impressed at all when he teamed up with Jimmy Page. I think he felt insulted but it's been decadss since I last read any of those interviews.
People have criticized Coverdale for being a Plant rip-off but he can't help it if he sounds similar, and to be honest, I'm a bigger Whitesnake fan than I am a Led Zeppelin fan.
Give a hail out to the late Jon Lord (keyboards) and Cozy Powell (drums)... who played on this track 🤘🤘I believe this 1984 version was w/ John Sykes (guitar), Neil Murray (bass) and Mel Galley (guitar) ... The original track was written and recorded w/ guitarist Mick Moody. This song from the '84 album 'Slide it in' became one of Whitesnake's first hits in N. America... along w/ "Love ain't no stranger"... 🔥🔥
Man I've been waiting for this one. I love these songs that start slow and build up, like For Those About to Rock, Stairway, the long version of She Sells Sanctuary and Fire Woman. Knockin at Your Back Door from Deep Purple is another slow burn. Thanks for doing what you do.
Seen Whitesnake 3 times in concert, one of my favorite bands. The last time after the concert a bunch of us had a party in the parking lot. Rocked all night.
The year was 1987 I was 15, and Whitesnake came to town as the opening act for Motley Crue on the Girl's, Girl's, Girl's tour. I still have the ticket stub to this day. By the way the concert was AWESOME!!!!!
This is the actual Whitesnake band in this video. The one you see in the 87 videos were hired just for the videos since David didn't think his actual band had the right image. They did become the most iconic videos of the eighties so he had some point. This song comes from the album Slide it In. You should react to that song and Spit it Out. If you are wondering, yes both songs are about love making.
There had been a number of Whitesnake line up changes before the line up you see in this video. One of the reasons the guitarist you see in this video, John Sykes was brought in was for his all round guitar hero looks/image.
The drums on this song are played by the late, great Cozy Powell. One of the all time great rock drummers. He was also the drummer on the "Rainbow Rising" album featuring Rainbow's all-time classic "Stargazer" and his solo effort "Dance with the Devil" is well worth a listen. The drumming on that is truly phenomenal. Here's a link to him playing it at a Whitesnake concert : ua-cam.com/video/NO_fx1WshCA/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Yes, this is an arena rocker! They had a great show when I caught them in the early 80s, David Coverdale was charismatic and could hit every note just like the record.
I love you two kids. Seeing you smile and react to all my favorite memories as a teen and adult, from everything from Kiss, Boston, Bad Company, Aerosmith, Styx, Deep Purple to Heart. You bring a smile to my face daily. Keep on Rockin.
Memories of this playing on cassette in the car with the windows rolled down and the volume cranked to 11! Coverdale did an album with Jimmy Page in the early 90s, check it out.
John Sykes on guitar, incredible guitar player, for some reason left the group and Adrian Vandenberg and Vivian Campbell got the credit for all the great music John Sykes wrote
Not for some reason, Coverdale wanted to be the star and booted Sykes because he would pull attention away from Coverdale. What could have been if his ego wasn’t so big. It could have been a Jagger/Richards, Plant/ Page or even a Roth/ Van Halen combo that would have kicked ass for a while.
No he got writing credit , but him and David didn't get along and they got big when the hair bands were pretty, so of course he changed the image to reflect that and then married his wanna be rock goddess Tawny that didn't last .I met him and he was nice and Tommy Aldridge was super nice and Vivan Campbell was also very cool. I do miss the Slid it in Era of Whitesnake though.
After the album that had the big hits (often called 1987) was finished being recorded John Sykes returned home to England. Coverdale wanted him to fly back and rerecord the solo for Here I Go Again. John refused as he was happy with what he recorded. Coverdale called in Vandenberg to rerecord the solo. Before the tour and any video's were made Coverdale fired the band you see in this video , which is the band that recorded 1987 album. Coverdale handpicked Vivian Campbell , Adrian Vandenberg , Rudy Sarzo & Tommy Aldridge to be in the videos & do the tour. When Sykes formed Blue Murder afterwards we got to hear his great singing voice to add to his killer guitar playing. Its possible Coverdale felt a little competition in Sykes and decided to nip it in the bud. Three sides to every story - Coverdales , the bands & the truth. Its a shame cause they were good together.
@@rogerdaly6326 Forgot about all of that complicated mess with the band. It is a shame, they were good together. Oh well, I like Whitesnake in any iteration!
The guitarist later formed his own band called "Blue Murder". If you loved this song, you'd love the Blue Murder song "Jellyroll"! Check it out, you won't be sorry.
@fionnmaccumhaill3257 John Sykes was also Thin Lizzy's final guitarist appearing on their last studio album Thunder and Lightning. The album came out in 1983, and sadly, Phil would be dead just three years later.
Y'all have no idea. I remember being in highschool, in Spring Texas and rocking this on a weekend night, parked on a dead end street with all our friends, and rocking!!
Still amazed that you have never reacted to The Babys after all of these years. You did John Waite with Bad English. You did John Waite solo but never his first group or their top 20 hits Isn't It Time and Every Time I Think of You. Oh, and while he was not in the band at the time of those songs, Journey's keyboardist Jonathon Cain was in that band before joining Journey. Another band you really need to give another look is Night Ranger. You reacted to Sister Christian, which was their popular power ballad but was not indicative of their normal music. Don't Tell Me You Love Me rocks with the best of them and had killer guitar solos.
Agree! Babys were late 70's, early 80's. My favorites are Midnight Rendezvous, Looking For Love, Turn and Walk Away and Silver Dreams. Most people know that Jonathan Cain went on to Journey and wrote some of their best songs back in the day, Faithfully among them. Also if note, Walt Stocker went on to play with Rod Stewart for quite a while. John Waite had his solo career also. Best album is Union Jacks IMO.
So happy I found you guys. Seeing the younger crowd enjoy the music I did when the songs first came out. I got a headband and amber sway going on over arching this. Can’t wait for more.
Thank you so much for reacting to this amazing song. Besides Still of The Night this is my husband's favorite. He passed away in 2018 and listening to his favorite music comforts me. Love you guys ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember the first time hearing this album and being blown away by how good it was. I bunked school with a bunch of friends. One of them had a 72 Cutlas. We ended up cruising in his car and he put in this cassette and Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers. It was a great day and I had to go out and get both cassettes from two amazing bands!
Finally back to some quality 80's hard rock. Been missing the hard rock/metal roots of this channel a lot lately, so this was a welcome change. For more Whitesnake from this same era, I suggest "Love Ain't No Stranger."
Ive been a whitesnake fan since 1980 and seen them five times - Still of the Night, Is this Love, Here I Go Again and Dont Break My Heart Again are my favourites.
The guitar player on this track is John Sykes . Great player you guys really need to check out John's other band Blue Murder, especially the song Jelly Roll !! You will not be disappointed. Love ❤ ✌️ and Happiness Y'all 😊!!!
There are probably three guitar players on this track, Mel Galley, Micky Moody and John Sykes, who didn't replace all of Moody's stuff for the US version of the album
David Coverdale and Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin formed Coverdale Page in the late 80's, early 90's maybe? But you have to check out their song/video Shake My Tree. It rocks like this one with Zeppelin vibes! If you listen to it in the car you'll get a speeding ticket!
Dave is a great front man. Whitesnake's sound is like glam/hair metal had a baby with blues music. I also love thus song's unique vibe. I was amazed at how tight the band is/was when I dud a deep dive on their catalog. Lots of good tunes to explore from them.
Saw Whitesnake FIVE times growing up, the last time was on the Whitesnake 87’ tour at London’s Wembley Arena; Glen Campbell (another great guitarist), slipped down the ramp on his side of the stage but recovered so well only a few including myself noticed! Brilliant show, Still of the Night was epic and the whole crowd were going crazy!!
Love aint no stranger is another you all need to hear.
Agreed.
Yes to this. Please do "Love Ain't No Stranger" next
ABSOLUTELY!!
One of my favs....
Was just going to suggest this!
Such a great era for music. Whitesnake kicked ass with this album.....slide it in.
Not much subtlety to the album title, ha. But we loved it.
No need for subtlety. Just go right for the meaning. Lol 😂
@@williamjamesayers7719 Haha
This was their best album
Whitesnake are so bluesy, but with a heavy edge. David Coverdale is one of the great frontmen and vocalist of Rock n Roll! No dispute.
Whitesnake was 1 of the most underated bands ever, got to love um.
David Coverdale is a legend! So is John Sykes!
Don’t forget Cozy Powell!
Might as well mention Jon Lord as well, though, most of his work is watered down on the American version of the album.
@@tuffs4it Yeah, the line up was crazy!
Don’t forget Tommy Aldridge
John Sykes solo on “Crying in the Rain” is amazing.
I didn’t even realise that Cozy Powell played drums on this! And then there’s John Sykes on guitar! It doesn’t get any better!
There's two versions of this song. The UK version is Micky Moody the actual guitarist who wrote the song. John Sykes recorded the guitar for the US version here. He didn't write this.

Same!
Me too! I was on a double date with a buddy of mine in the backseat of his 1981 Camaro Z28 cruisin the local strip when I first heard this banger! Damn good times!! 💪🏻🤘
Same here,my first time hearing Whitesnake....every singe track on the album is a killer
We wore that Slide It In cassette out driving around with my friends!!!🎶🎶🎵🎶
" I know that hard luck and trouble is coming my way..." what a line !
Yes! That line has always jumped out at me and defined the song's feel.
This is a painfully underrated 80s song -- so, so good! Slide It In needs to be next!
David Coverdale has always had one of those great rock voices.
This was a SHORT version. 😱
You need to hear the whole song!
They left a verse out didn’t they?
The kind of song that you can just turn up full blast in the car. The whole album is excellent.
Totally! I think I will go for a nice long car ride today and blast this one.
Robert plant vibes , indeed... David .C actually did an album with Jimmy Page in the 90’s called Coverdale-Page.
Loved your reaction to this song. Whitesnake is such an outstanding band and they are great live as well.
SERIOUS Plant vibe. I was just thinking he sounded like Robert Plant right before you said it
Me, too!
Robert Plant was not impressed at all when he teamed up with Jimmy Page. I think he felt insulted but it's been decadss since I last read any of those interviews.
They don't call this guy David Coverversion for nothing .. Just listen to the real deal .. Zeppelin

one of the greatest singers in rock history.
Easily my favorite of theirs. Great to hear it again!
Yes! My favorite Whitesnake song ever!!!!
All right my babies.... I was privileged to see this band at least eight times. Never a disappointment and a great reaction ‼️💯🔥🎤🎸🥁🎹🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
They are always great live!
This and Love Aint No Stranger are their two bangers imo. This entire album was stupid good.
These guys never disappointed live I loved seeing their concerts❤❤ lots of great memories right there

my favourite album is 'come and get it'.

I haven't heard this forever. I gotta listen to it again
This whole album is absolutely brilliant, gets played regularly
A classic Whitesnake love song, can only be done their way
80's metal is the best music ever made. Sex, drugs, rock & roll. Best decade ever! Best musicianship ever.

That’s wild how Whitesnake opened for Mötley Crüe!!!! When I saw that back in the day, I thought it was a typo 🤘🏽😱🤘🏽
This guy’s were on top of the charts in the mid 80s! With this song and “Slide it in” and some other ones from their catalog!❤️🔥👌😎👍🤟🤘
Did y'all know that Randy Jackson used to play bass for WHITESNAKE?
Yes, that Randy Jackson from American Idol!
He played for journey for a minute. They wouldn't let him on the fckin stage with Whitesnake
One of my alltime Favorites...but it was the SHORT VERSION...it cut out the Coverdale scream...unreal...

Slide It In is their best album IMO any song from it is a winner.

"Jellyroll" by Blue Murder. Has a Whitesnake connection. You will not be disappointed.

I'm just going to say the expression, "This song slaps!", was invented just for this song. Totally not true, but should be!
Whitesnake has a deep catalog! Check out “Children of the Night”, “Kittens got Claws”, “Crying in the Rain”, and many more!
Fool For Your Loving is another banger.
Oh nice! I think I requested this years ago. Very nice, I really think you'll love it, has an old school raw element to it. Pure talent.
Awesome song and the late Cozy Powell on drums
