Not even six minutes in, and you've gained a new subscriber. This is excellent - not only is it the sort of "bodge-job" DIY I'm contemplating (mounting a Quad Lock universal adaptor on a cheap case), it's pointing out the pros and cons of the 1"/25mm ball mounts used by RAM and Armor-X. Glad I'm not the only one who has to get the bits of the Quad Lock lined up "properly"...
You're a Legend Mark. Who else on YT post up so many helpful videos with genuinely helpful tips for motorcycling? whether or not someone copies your system to a T, some of the steps /equipment are helpful to mount other systems, without going through the expensive steps of ordering all those RAM mounts and electronic gear. I've spent so much time researching gear and then getting the wrong sizes, or gear that doesn't perform, so I can appreciate all you've gone through making stuff work. And... you're not gentle with your gear, it isn't mounted on a safe queen, it gets ridden off-road. Cheers from Nor-Cal. 🍻
I was wondering how you mounted that tablet. I even rattled that question around my brain to ask you about it. Thanks for showing your viewers what you did. It helps me because I run several different bikes and I like the idea of moving the tablet easily from one bike to the One of my other bikes. Very handy idea "Texas on the prairie"
Nice idea those two cylindrical bags next to the tank bag. Very useful for lots of stuff and don't get in the way. I mount my large Garmin 276cx on the larger sized RAM ball mounts and it is pretty solid
Eh Up Big Boys! A name for your latter end show chats on You Tube & podcasts! Biker Bits RAW! As in Owt Goes! 😂As You Do! Mega Shows Lads! Simply The Best!!! Cheers Graham.
Hi mark hope you’re well. A quick tip to reduce your ball ram mounts from moving. Get some heat shrink and put it over the ball. Cut the length so it shrinks around the tightly. That should help in anchoring it firm without tightening the life out of the clamp. Damo
Hello Mark, That was very informative; I was interested as to how you put the Tablet on the bike, Will be seeing you soon mate; David.......Adelaide/Kilburn.....Triumph Scrambler 1200X........Adventure!
itchy boots has a very expensive setup called Rally tab if you want to sell a kidney but what you run is similar to my setup. Qud lock stuff seams good and when vibration mount fell apart it was replaced. Ram mount 1" ball seams to be the weak point as it squashes down.
Ram has a series of balls called "Tough Balls". These are made of a hard plastic material and, as the name implies, are more durable. At first glance, one may think the arm would tend to slip on the hard plastic but this is not the case. In fact, the arms seem to stay put better than with the rubber-covered balls.
Just be careful of 1 inch and 25mm balls. There are knock-off 25mm balls available and they are smaller than the real ones because 1 inch is 25.4mm not 25mm. Mark, if you turn your Ram arm around so the tightening knob is closer to you rather than facing away from you, you'll be able to tighten the arm so the tablet doesn't move

Здравствуйте, могу я задать вопрос по Yamaha Virago 250?
G`Day Mark, do you still have Harry, not seen him in the background for sometime?

You can buy a roll of duct tape for a couple of bucks.
Just saying.
