The back instrument is Berimbau, from Angola/Africa, was taken to Brasil by slaves. It become popular by Brazilian music , best player Nana Sousa Dias.
Now that you've entered the world of DL there is no turning back. Time to tell your loved ones that you might be gone for some time ..... Thanks for the great reaction!!
Gawd man give yourself credit for one amazingly well commented, wonderful energy, fucking great reaction. Quality all the way through and your humble, endearing presentation was just a treat to witness. Thank you. You mentioned Cory Wong and as luck would have it Corey and Dirty Loops have just released a collab album that is just next level everything. Loops will always surprise you and there are no bad Loops videos! Back to the Wong, Loops collab I would recommend "Follow the Light", "Thriller", yes that "Thriller" and "Turbo" for the collab stuff. Just Loops you can't go wrong but "Rock You", "Next to You", "World On Fire" are all great places to jump in. So nice to have your unique new voice enter Loops world...it is very welcome. You got my sub.
man watching people watch Loops for the first time never ever gets old. When Johnny Depp was talking about shooting the cook in once upon a time in mexico. he was talking about Dirty Loops. They screw up the curve for everyone else.
So cool that you found them! They are incredible. You mentioned Cory Wong, they have a brand new collaboration with him. Follow the light, a cover of Thriller. For Dirty Loops solo, check out Next to you, Rock you, Hit me. All exceptional!
Watching peoples face the first time they hear Dirty Loops makes me wish I could hear them again the first time. Great reaction. This is where people would normally put in recommendations of other songs of their to do. They are all next level. Just pick any of them.
FINALLY!! You are the first reactor I've seen who caught that monster chromatic progression on the piano. Simply an amazing musical moment, but everyone misses it!
Great reaction and thoughtful comments. And they are all masters of their instruments. And Henrik is playing a 6-string fretless Mattisson bass, with the best intonation I have ever heard. Cheers from Italy.
Fantastic reaction video!! Your enthusiasm is shared by countless numbers of musicians and non-musicians alike. This is next-level, genre-defying music composed, performed and produced by three of the most amazingly talented musicians on the planet.
Hello, greetings from Spain. Look, I've been following Dirty Loops for a long time and I can say that they are my favorite band right now, hands down. I am 56 years old and have listened to a lot of music. I have tried to listen to all of these guys' songs over and over again because I think they are awesome. I have finished with all his videos and now I have been watching the reactions of people and musicians to his performances for a while. Of all the comments I've heard on UA-cam, I think yours have best described their skills and creativity. I've heard a lot of compliments for Dirty Loops but yours have come perfectly close to what I feel when listening to them. My sincere congratulations on your feelings towards this performance and I hope you continue to listen and comment on more of these monsters. Thanks! All the best.
Hola! Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad to hear my thoughts resonated with you. It's great to see how strongly people feel about this group so I'll definitely explore more of their catalog. Take care. 😃
And then, just for fun, a little pause music: Old Armando´s got a farm with just Henrik on the bass and Aron on the drums. I guess Jonah was away singing on his own for a short moment there. Even there merch video is fun to look, just write Dirty Loops and Merch in the search field.
Others have brought up this comparison as well, but the first time I listened to this, I immediately thought of Pat Metheny Group, and the late, great Lyle Mays on keys.
I've not found many that are at this level. Three musicians that blend so well and have a passion for creating art like this. Yet so easy to digest even if you're not into the nuance. Love these dudes. Great reaction, cheers mate.
The keyboard solo is a beautiful mix between Jonahs classical training and his Pat Metheny influences. These guys are the top of their game in every way. The sound engineer is the real mvp in this song imho, such a killer mix. Great analyze as well Thomas.
Great reaction! Funny U mentioned Cassiopeia, just recently listened to their album Mint Jams! And of course Corey Wong... Corey and Dirty Loops recently released a nice version of Thriller and a song called Turbo and as mentioned, Follow The Light. Great musicians, great music!
Hey buddy! That was off the charts man! What a way to get introduced to jazz/funk/fusion kinda music. Cuz' I've never ever listened to it. But wow, what musicianship... That bass, those drums. Man I really, really enjoyed that! So again, thanks for this one mate! Gonna check your last three reactions asap, work has been mad crazy the last few weeks. Just enough time to get some shut-eye... 😕 Later kerel!🤘
Basicailly the musicality of these guys knows no boundaries! They met at a music school in Stockholm and i think it's fair to say, i know it's the worst kind of cliché but still, a match made in Heaven! They got their breakthrough some 15 years ago when uploading videos here where they did covers of both songs from the '80s and contemporary. Needless to say they became super viral very fast and everyone from David Foster to Quincy Jones were singing their praises!
great reaction :) if U like Cory Wong/Wolfpac you should react to "follow the light" which is from the new album that Dirty Loops and Cory Wong just releast together!!!!
The exotic instrument that keeps sounding throughout the song is a Brazilian berimbau. Just one string on a neck with a kalabass at the base, and a stick to hit it with. African roots.
Stunning aren’t they? You reacted pretty much the way I did first time, well done. Really so much to say and at the same time “wow” just about covers it lol. 👍🏻
Great, insightful reaction!! You have now reached the Dirty Loops zone, i.e. point of no return. Please fasten your seatbelt, you’re in for a hell of a ride… I suggest your next stop would be ”Next to you” or ”Bitten by the kitten” (from their side project Songs for lovers) 🐈⬛ 👏🏻🤩
Great reaction Thomas. Your passion and love for music really shines through. Never heard of these guys before. but I'll definitely will check out more of their music. Weird thought- I'm a huge Bandmaid fan and thought how cool would it be if Kanami ( lead guitarist) wrote a jazz riff and played it with this band. Her style would fit in perfectly. One or two songs only. Bandmaid Forever.
You know, for a guy who claims to not have enough vocabulary for this kind of musical level, you’ve got plenty! Love it! Btw, not even we who call ourselfs musicians have enough vocabulary for DL’s level of musicianship. Only thing that we know is that their music lifts, heals and soothes our souls.
Very good reaction, Sir. Well above the vast majority of musical reactions. 👍👍 I'm British, so I very much liked your humble modesty. You have a delightful 'vibe' and energy. Best Wishes. ☮
Two minutes in and I was loving your whole vibe. You couldn't have picked a better place to start listening to DL, although you can't go wrong with them because everything they do is epic. It's funny that you mention Vulfpeck because DL and Cory Wong have a joint project that came out about a month ago or so called "Turbo". "Follow the Light" was the first single and I think you'd enjoy that, as well as the others they've released from that project thus far. I'm also interested to see what DL song you choose next, should you continue listening. Like I said before, you really can't go wrong because nothing they do sucks. ALSO: I've seen so many people reference video games when they hear DL. Mario Kart specifically. They may need to explore that option at this point lol! Lastly (sorry so longwinded. I always have so much to say when it comes to these guys), I love how everyone's initial thought of Henrik (bass player) is that he's in the wrong band. But then you hear him play and realize he's right where he needs to be. This was fun!
Thanks for the kind words! It's easy to have a good vibe with these guys, so much fun. I was happy to find out that they've collaborated with Cory Wong, I may have to check one of those out next. I appreciate your passion for this band! Take care. 😁
I had to come back and listen to your reaction once again. It is one of the best ever. Fantastic comments and wonderfully infectious, joyful reaction. This is how you do a reaction you've put a grin on my face several times now and I'm very thankful. Best wishes. p.s. I think you'd go nuts over their song "Next to You." They take everything to the next level on that one. Epic. Be well.
You've just entered the Dirty Loops rabbit hole. Wait til you hear some other stuff. Funny that you mentioned Vulfpeck, cuz they're new collaboration album is with Cory Wong, the guitarist from Vulfpeck haha
Well done for reacting to DL. Might be worth looking at the work they did with Cory Wong ~ Thriller & Follow the Light for example. Good luck sir. A Sklarite tribesman in London.

Great reaction to one of my favorite Dirty Loops songs. Thought we were going to lose you a couple of times in there and can thoroughly empathize with you. Would love to see you tackle some more of their stuff. Take care !
This was an amazing reaction video to an amazing DL song. Your unfiltered facial expressions showed true delight while your near-perfect articulation really drove to the heart of what this band is all about. "MUSICAL WIZARDRY" as you put it. I almost enjoyed watching you as much as I did watching their performance. I also watched your reaction to "Thriller" which was just as spot on. I was hoping that you would be releasing more DL reactions. Maybe Next To You, Follow The Light, or World on Fire? Stay genuine as it brings a nice uniqueness to your persona.

They also have a few previous albums that are great as well. BTW, they're managed by Quincy Jones. Cheers! For sure, check out DL with Cory Wong doing Thriller. It is all just so damned good. Thanks for listening to so much of it without comment. That being said, I really like your reaction.
This is the reaction I am looking for. Love it. Great way to start the weekend. The singer in the song is Jonah Nilsson, from the band dirty loops, he has an amazing range.
