3 acoustic instrumentals from Bron-yr-aur. A distant voice is audible in the second one, sounds like plant's, and you do hear him humming along every so often.
I absolutely LOVE recordings like this. I dog myself so hard when playing/recording, fro screwing up the rhythm or blowing notes, or for just playing something... awful, unimaginative & loathsome; only to go back & listen to little snippets of tape to find some gorgeous mistake I made would soon to grow into a full song. It's always refreshing, & always inspiring to hear famous, established, heinously talented musicians & their personal demo's. Every masterpiece comes form some dusty reel-to-reel, moldering somewhere in the catacombs of musician's homes the world around.
I really don't need more. If you say you take away all the pain and only able to listen to this or Led Zeppelin in general and nothing else, I would agree.
I found out what these are. I read today in one of my 7387587558 Zeppelin books. That page had originally wrote 4 Bron-yr-aurs. And didn't release any until Physical graffiti. This is 1970 stuff here :D amazing video. Dont know if im entirely right though. Just something i found.
This first little acoustic piece is the first piece of music I ever figured out without tabs. Proud is an understatement. After I did a bunch of other zeppelin bootlegs. Good fucking times.
Songs grow from what is referred to a motif, or a motive. It is the roots to a songs growth. A motif can never really be changed. It is possible to rework a motive a little bit, but to change a motive means to make a new song. New roots mean a new tree. In the first outake, its somebody playing "Ramble On". They have simple changed the rhythm a little bit. Page would not go back and try to re hatch that motif because he knows it would go no place other than the place he already taken that motif.
damn a lotta haters!! cant we all just dig on some zep music and groove? practice, goofin whatever, if you're a zep fan,dig it, if you're not a zep fan then listen to the kind of music that you like... dig on what you enjoy.....
whell... whether this is page or not.. this is still a fantastic musician playing! I enjoyed listening to these pieces a lot :) ps it is indeed very page-esque And right before the last recording. THAT is with out a doubt plants voice.. soo.....
Plant more likely, even back then Jonesy could play really fine guitar, mandolin, banjo, and just pretty much whatever was handed to him. But then, I wasn't there so how can I know.
If it is any of the members of Led Zeppelin, it is definitely not Page or Jones. It very well could be Plant or Bonham though; I've read that Bonzo occasionally picked up an acoustic.
Not sure about the real point of putting all those unfinished tracks on UA-cam but there are some good moments here with a typical homemade charm. That's right: some embryonic chord sequence of “The Rover” pop up in the first song. Davey Graham & Bert Jansch influence is everywhere especially on the last tune (with vocals in the background). There's a great acoustic demo at the end of the “Bombay sessions” too. All those great pics make you forget you should be watching a video instead... Lol!
it's sounds like some basic melodies page recorded on a 4-track. what do you expect, if he came up with it on the spot it's not gonna sound flawless. whatever it is it sounds very much like pages style.
Very good. You are searching for musical substance and trying to find integrity to your musical thoughts. Salute to you. Great. Bonham was the first person to syncopate his kick drum. Meaning, he used it on the + of 4 at the end of the first measure in a two measure phrase. This is critical to understand. Led Zep syncopated almost everything in one way or another. It is this very understanding, amongst others, that tells me this aint Page at all. It just aint. Your personal knowledge is wrong.
I dont think this is on any zep cd set. I know its not because I know what is going on here. It is so much not like Page I have no choice other than to believe it is not page. Gor example: the begging of this video is someone playing a improvised version of "ramble on" and the "rover". I know these songs were not made this way. The improve is someones butchery to the already made and completed song. Not the beginning of the making of a song.
@TheWantonMan If we told it to Led Zep history, it would come over here and kick your ass for faking it. And we're being generous because we don't want to do that to you.
Now way this is Zep. Page had a handle on studio recording in his early youth, before he ever met plant. Never ever did he have sloppy audio work for "scratch" tracks. This person sounds American. Not British. I hear the folk sounds that are American. Pages folk influence was from Roy Harper. Not hillbillies in eastern states of America. Page always syncopated all of his guitar rhythms. I hear very little syncopation in any of this. The way this person "holds" their guitar cords, its not Page.
this is not Page, BIG INSULT to Jimmy. He has been in the studio as a session player most of his life, I find it hard to believe he would record with a .12 cent tape recorder. 2. by the time Plant was with with him he was already there, made it to the top of the industry, again the .12 cent recorder makes zero sense . Jimmy never played that simplistic sense he was 5, it's not Page. Flubbed chords, missed notes. Terrible try, it kind of worked, some silly people seemed to have bought it.

Devon Kildare glad I'm not the only who feels this way
We are truly our own worst critiques lol
2nd and 3rd songs sound beautiful. 1st one sounds pretty cool.
I really don't need more. If you say you take away all the pain and only able to listen to this or Led Zeppelin in general and nothing else, I would agree.

thenobs123 yeah man share it! It sounds ao awesome
The last one sounds so pretty :)
Great 👍
That is undeniably Plants' voice in the background talking & humming along.

Omg i need some damn tabs for this.

This has been around for years and yes it is Led Zeppelin/Jimmy Page recording demos.
Remind anyone of The Rover, just a few chords here and there?

umm idk what brand that is
@01sapphireGTS if we could just join hands...
@StreeTRacR008 TRUE DAT!!
The first song became: The Rover
Regardless of whoever it is, it's bloody good. Where did you get this though?
Is one of them Another Way To Wales from Acoustic Origins?
Who's on lead guitar on the third track? Lori Maddox?
it's sounds like some basic melodies page recorded on a 4-track.
what do you expect, if he came up with it on the spot it's not gonna sound flawless.

..Its peter Grant...zeps manager...tries to show how his band sounds like...
@TheWantonMan
I agree man,this is so page

What are your sources? Where'd you find this?
It could've been Plant who occasionally played acoustic guitar.
Same with Bonham...
just before 4 min, is there a harmonica?
fuck yeah! tis ain't page.....
12 string possibly
if not, its just a 6
dude jones is a good guitar palyer...it must be plant or some fucker fooling us around

Not page? just listen to the very end of the first.
Nobody has a touch like that.
@TheWantonMan

Do you recognise the voices of the silly wankers at 6:41 ? :P

this is not page dont believe it .
C'mon, if you guys think this is as good as page, then you deserve to think it's actually him..
page liked being sloppy sometimes.

This sucks. I have a recording of me on cassette that sounds just like this.
no offense but thats bullshit.
